They over engineer the crap out of it until they kill off all of the special qualities of an actually talented singer’s voice. They do the same to Paloma Faith. I love the live videos people have posted of her much more than her studio albums. Same with Sawyer Fredricks from The Voice. The studio versions of the songs he did on that show were far better. They obliterated that special tone he has on the studio versions.
