You are so right. I loved also the fact, that it had so many different things than Street Fighter like the spirit bar, Desperate moves, dash, taunt, ... This is still one of my favourite games.
It's my favorite one too. I love the graphics in this one the best and it has that cool 80s karate film vibe. The only thing holding the game back would be the control input readability. I don't know why they don't patch some of these classics in this time.
Oh yeah, he was way too op. But after many quarters I realized that he always does the "cross diving" move when you crouch. So you have to crouch and block, he does the cross diving move towards you, you block and get guard damage, and while he is on air, you have to punish him
Can't beat him, not even on easy, not even after looking up how to cheese him. Breaks my heart trying to play fighting games: not a single one of Ryo's specials will activate for me. I've ground to Mr Karate with my only weapon, a low kick.

@@tarnakai7012 IMHO, Art of Fighting 1 is a much better experience than 2. The AI in 2 is batshit crazy at times, trying to play the game alone is a god damn nightmare, cuz they just spam normals like no tomorrow and don't let you get anywhere near them. It's too hard and not in the fun way.
@@accelriderx2931 Well, I liked a AI in Art of Fighting more than in Art of Fighting 2, because at first the AI from AoF2 seems difficult, but there is a simple (and boring trick) to win. Just use a throw and after that a fireball, the AI doesn't block the fireball and becomes dizzy. Repeat it over and over...
@@tarnakai7012 I can't even get a throw on them to save my life, I can just barely reach them with my normals. They throw out attacks so fast by the time I'm in striking range I've already lost half my health at least.
hehe, yeah. when you re low on health (fighting stance changes when you have low health) and you have full spirit meter you can press down, down/forward, forward, Punch + Grab Button :)
Yes, in the Arcade/Neo Geo Version you become dizzy randomly. On the SNES you become Dizzy after Desperates, or Zanretsuken/Genei-Kyaku, or Haoh Shokoken.
Love how Mr. Karate jumps straight into a Hashokoken to end the first round. Pure retro gaming sfx right there.
haha, he wanted to hit me with a jump kick, but...we saw the result xD
This first art of fighting will always be my favorite. It is the most memorable maybe because the game was pretty much perfect.

I see it the first time in first week of September 1992 in arcade games in that time
love the game... I've put hundreds of coins into the arcade cabinet when I was a kid to play it
Me, too. Mr. Big was always a pain in the ass :(
TarnaKai
hellyeah... those damn sticks did alot of dmg and were fast as fuck

it takes a lot of practice, I know how you feel... I remember I spend over 1 hour just to beat him, when I firstly got this game
Mr karate projectile is fast and the movement speed is quick as heck. This must be a nightmare to beat him.
Yes, I love him, I wish they can add him in Final fight lns ultimate along with his original moves as super combos❤❤😂😂😂😂
old game be like... wearing a karate attire then use Motorbike
Ryo did not suspect that Mr karate is his father thanks his younger sibling she revealed it
You are a GOOD player!!
Thank you so much!! :)
其實一代的很多機制做的不是很完整集氣的速度,暈眩值,和減血的比例甚至是招式的判定
He was actually Takuma.
Yes, I know. But in Art of Fighting 1 his name is "Mr. Karate" or "?"
Really a tough, nail-biting fight!
Thanks man, he is very hard! But it is very fun to play :)
you should check out my robert vs. geese video, this is more intense!
TarnaKai OK. I am watching.
thanks :D

Back then when snk were true innovators...
Yeah, I am still playing old SNK games because of that!
Mr karate = gouki akuma
Gesse Howard = Vega/ byson
Sink just copied street fighter from capcom.
Made by the same person who made the first street fighter, so did he copy himself? Capcom later copied SNK with dash, super moves, parry etc.

This is best arcade game ever to be made in history
Hehe, there were many good Arcade Games back then. Did you saw Art of Fighting 2?
DJ Enrique, play the KOF series.

1:23 it's bullshit that you became dazed there. The arcade really screwed players over.

I perfected Mr Karate many times. It's fun but hard to do.
Tanks for the video

No recuerdo a mr. karate tan fácil de derrotar... buen juego, buena música
X2 si en dificultad normal te hacía gastar todos los credits
es gracioso porq s el
