The balls aren't perfectly spherical. So if you roll it along the equator (where the circumference is largest), it will fall to one side or the other. You see this right at the end when it tipped over logo side up.
It recorded 8.3 on the Richter Scale but as you say it is but ONE of the best we have seen. All challenges in life sometimes require us to "thread the needle"

this looks very similar to Bocce, if not identical. The Old Italian guys in my neighborhood all used to play this in the summers when I was growing up.
There is a big, big difference: bocce balls are spherical, bowls are not and they do not travel in a straight line, this is how Nick Brett's bowl curves in to take the jack. Different models of bowl have different biases, i.e. how much they turn. Bowls, petanque and bocce all stem from games played by the Romans.
As someone who plays lawn bowls in tournaments, I have had a couple of shots like that in my time and it is really impressive. Line and speed are very hard to judge when you have to alter one to make the other work, along with the speed of the surface. I certainly couldn’t have done that shot on in indoor bowls green
But from the lie of the other balls in the end, both players had the pace and line of that end, so not as hard to play that wood as it appears. still, amazing control and pace.
