Yes, the cold air in my face and the beauty of the winter landscape plus that wonderful, tired euphoria afterward! My wife, son, and I had just such a day here in Michigan two days ago. There is nothing quite like cross-country skiing. I learned the sport outside Trondheim 20 years ago in my 30s by the way. Takk for det Norge!

Love how the salomon members live their lives, one with nature, the mountains, and the fact most or all of them understand the healing frequencies of nature and how you can reciprocate that energy back to yourself. Being in touch with the higher dimensional reality of infinite good.

Yes! A wonderful video, commentary, and cinematography.... only marred by every single second of it having a song playing over it. Everything about cross-country skiing involves stillness, quiet, and the ambient sounds of nature with skis sliding on snow....NONE of those sounds are heard during this video. The silence and rhythm of Nordic skiing brings the deeper connection that we all crave....

Love this Karoline - thanks! I was in Lillehammer for the Birkebeiner in year 2000, and these views of the Nordic countryside bring back some great memories! (and you're a much better skier than me :-)

Hi Karoline. Where outside Lillehammer is this video taken? What is the name of the area where the ski track are? Really amazing.
Hi! Most of the footage is from around Sjusjøen, some from the Natrudstilen xc stadium. Both are close to eachother and around 30min drive from Lillehammer 😊

AliMD76 hi! It’s the region who grooms all the tracks on a regular basis all season through, mostly every day, from October to May. All together it’s around 2500 km of tracks in this area 😄 we are lucky to have amazing and committed groomers here in Sjusjøen 🙏🏼

She was at the Aix Invitational in September which is organized by Alexis, I didn't see her racing so she may just have been a podium girl. She met her current (as of May 2020) boyfriend Lucas Chanavat at that time.

Could I come and visit you? I went cross-country skiing in Bedrichov, Czech Republic yesterday, by the way. And I was wearing Salomon boots.
In the mid-Atlantic, this video makes me feel sad that others have never experienced the pureness of XC movement, which is like no other repetitive sport movement. Our state/space is not so privileged, except through travel, and most people can't afford that. Will it always be a totally separate mindset, our relationships to summer and winter?

Hi! I'm what you can call a semi-pro athlete, which means 100% of the effort and 0% of the money. I am lucky to have some sponsors helping me (mostly with equipment, and Salomon is not one of them), but let me reassure you - I only see red digits in this sport. I study 100% (now actually 150%), and work on the side to pay for my own house and hot chocolates. It is all about priorities, and I choose my way of life.
@@karolineconradiksnevad9000 So does that mean your mom and dad cover most of your expenses? It looks like a good life. Is this the way it is for most people in Norway? I would like to try it.
@Explorer Mike No, I cover my own expenses. In Norway you can receive a loan from the government for studying, this together with money I earn from work covers the bills. It is a good life, I can recommend it ;-)
@@karolineconradiksnevad9000 It does sound like a good life! At least in the USA, life is a LOT more stressful for most Americans and with a lot less free-time. We have to work and work and work to cover living expenses UNLESS somebody else is covering your living expenses or you are on government welfare. In your video, you live in private house in the countryside and can spend a lot of time "Doing what you like and not doing what is not important" (as you said in your video). That would not be attainable in the USA for most Americans by only working part-time or by using student loans. Unfortunately, most Americans must spend most of their days working and just try to use the remaining time for recreation like skiing. "Fantastisk norge"! What a great place it must be to live there!

There is also freeski episodes like canvas and highway which are both four times as long as this video. This channel is jot just for freeski but also everything else where salomon is involved with. At least respect nordic skiers, this is a beautiful video...
Don't get me wrong. Nordic skiers got my respect and I was not meant to point at this video in particular, I just in general think that Salomons production was a lot better the previous years. The highway was IMO horrible aswell compared to Freeski TV episodes. It was a tragic history, but how was it relevant in any way?
