r/Entitledparents - "Give My Child Your Wheelchair NOW!" Story 2!

  • r/Entitledparents think that they're entitled to everything... even the wheelchair of a disabled person! This is one of the most unbelievable entitled parents I've ever seen in a Reddit post! This mom thinks that a person isn't disabled enough to deserve a wheelchair, so she demands it for her son. I mean, WTF lady? Sometimes I think these entitled parents are actually insane. How do they think they can get away with it?

      Epilepsy is the term for getting chronic seizures. If you had a seizure induced by a head trauma or a bad fall, that is not epilepsy. However, if you randomly get seizures periodically without warning, that is epilepsy. It can be caused by a number of neurological issues, such as a brain tumor, or some issue in the DNA

    • @christopherlizon5198
      @christopherlizon5198 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Since every lawyer will always ask about the charges before setting up a meeting I'm sure she had to get a public defender, who I bet would have to go back to Monarchy law and cite a case of this Noble took a cart used by a legless peasant to quickly reach the Kings court to not be beheaded, and the courtroom would just look stunned thinking, "Is her son related to a king of a country that no longer exists" or claim the girl works for al-Qaida Edit: To clarify, lawyers are required to do their best to represent a client or go to jail, US jails are intense so I'm assuming they will do the bare minimum to not be jailed.

      Not sure that’s Satan’s job, but he could maybe forward those complaints to God, however, Hell has some pretty bad work conditions, so it may take a bit, and even then, Satan and his former boss aren’t quite on good terms, and definitely won’t be for the foreseeable future. So, unfortunately, it doesn’t look like those prisoners requests would come to fruition.

    This has to get off my chest, I grew up with: "Do not stare at a disabled person! Do not bother the disabled person!" I only look if I notice they need something from the shelf and (for some reason) give a peaceful little bow. I seriously don't know why I bow... Few weeks ago a very old lady was before me in the line and the cassier asked her wallet, she couldn't find her card and people waited already a long time. She started to sob when the cassier said: "How are we going to solve this?" - I just gave my card, it's a pandemic and it's the least I can do, I'm in disability myself, so I gave her a small bow and wished her a nice day, while she cried saying: "There are still some people..." - The cassier knows me well and rubbed tears away - "Dangit, you are way too kind..." I told her, if this lady on a cart has to walk back to her service flat and back, she'll be much more tired - I don't know her and tbh, just help each other and she wasn't entitled at all. All I know is that I made the entire line cry, the cassier and the old lady...

      I only know the ADA laws in regards to service dogs, but isn't there a law protecting people with wheelchairs? I have no idea.
      If so, then this entitled woman is probably next going to deny she is violating federal law because she is a mother with a child who wants the wheelchair so he doesn't have to walk.
      Then again, it sounds like they aren't in the US, so I'm not sure, I'm not familiar with international laws about disabilities or anything of the sort.
      Either way, if this entitled woman gets thrown in jail, then she might not want to say why she was put in there, other inmates might not like her reasoning. Then again, would she be smart enough to keep her trap shut?

I've had many major surgeries, starting with my left knee at the age of 15. My spine now dislocates, forcing me into a cervical collar, and walking aids/wheelchair. I've had someone try for my wheelchair twice, and my walker once. I can't even remember how many times I've had to prove my parking placard is mine. I no longer drive myself now, but I've had the placard since I was 15 (I'm 36). Bonus, EDS isn't in the disability blue book, so it's actually really hard for someone with EDS to get benefits. • @Demyxu
      @Demyxu 5 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      They can actually range up to 1k too, depending on what you actually pay for. You *can* buy one for cheaper, around say 100, but the quality for that is definitely not going to be up to snuff. And with a disability like the OP had in the story, paying that much is more than likely way worth it rather than settling for a cheap version.

I have never experienced or seen this kind of behaviour in my country thankfully, but have heard so many similar stories like this on the internet (occurring in other countries.) It baffles me so bad how people can be so cruel, even going as far as getting violent with a disabled person. even if they dont believe them (which i also dont get) how are they so brave to ACTUALLY get physical with a potentionally disabled person? I just don't understand if this is a mental illness or there's simply people out there who are overly entitled that they have no problem doing this and STILL put the blame on you. At first i was just mad but i really was about to cry for op. I hope they're doing better these days...

Just a few hours of work can leave me drained for the rest of the day. So, as soon as I was old enough, my mom applied me for disability.
      I also have autism, so interacting with others isn't easy. I've broken down completely once, broken down a little a few other times, and was close to it a few others. I like working, but it isn't easy.

In the wheelchair would be none other than a twisted version of her son, playing in the chair, and mocking her by telling her to just get up and walk, and so she’s forced to endure this pain and suffering until the end of time.

    I cannot even fathom walking up to a random person and declaring with confidence that I know more about their health and life than they, their doctor, their insurance company, or their family do. Let alone demanding they give up their own property for the amusement of a small child. The absolute COJONES she has to assume that she's in the right and everyone else is wrong when the consequences are so severe.
    Someone please give me the confidence of entitled idiots, I'd do so much good with it.

    Love this. I have bJHS which is a milder form of EDS3. Basically all the pain but none of the dislocation. The amount of times I have to explain my limp or my lean, or why I need to sit in disabled seats on buses is insane, because aside from the prominent limp during a flare, I look totally ok. The really annoying thing? It causes all these extras, IBS (bowel and bladder), numbness, pins and needles, occasional paralysis, blood pressure dips, insomnia, fatigue, and all you can do is mild exercise and painkiller management and all the side effects that go with that. Thankfully, no hospital stays for me, I can still work, and flares just need tons of bed rest. I also have an amazing boss who forces me to rest when I’m being stubborn and working through the pain. I hope my fellow Zebra never experiences any of that ever again. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover people. Zebras are everywhere, you just need to look past the horses.

    Update: first EM got 4 years. Kid went to live with grandparents. The family gave sincere apologies to OP.

      Four years feels like a slap on the wrist. If that was my child, she wouldn’t have made it to court.

      @S Z. I believe I read it in a comment by the OP on the Reddit story. Looking now, Reddit says the post was removed because it linked to a news article identifying EM. Perhaps I got the info from the article. Edit: the full post is still visible in the chrome amp page, though the linked article is about a different event.

    Frankly, this person should have responded to the ADULT WOMAN'S first inquiry with "That is none of your business and you should be ashamed of yourself for asking." Would have been completely reasonable.
