Wow Awsome dude.Came across this video of yours on my TH-cam feed & Ive just subscribed to your channel.Greetings from one NZer to another!I first got into helicopters in MSFS with the introduction of the Taogs UH-1H a few months ago care of a TH-cam video from “AvAngel”.Cool that we have in the sim a helo like our former RNZAF Hueys .I will certainly enjoy your tutorials on helicopter flying ,I will “yet” become a better sim helicopter pilot lol.
Thanks alot. Great to see another fellow kiwi heli simmer too. There's a group of us that fly maybe a couple of times a week in a discord one of our group setup for audio coms etc and other heli Simming information. discord.gg/sXmDQEAJ The huey is great isn't it!! It's definitely the most realistic helicopter in the sim in my opinion.
Hi Simon- my apologies I should have perhaps clicked on the link promptly to join your discord server group but it now seems “Invalid “ I think perhaps it has expired. How possible would it be to send a new link if possible?Ive also got another NZ based flightsimmer & Huey sim pilot who has expressed interest in joining your group.Just yesterday we both did a little flying with our Hueys together.Kind regards.
That looks incredible mate, considering this is a starting point/test wow we are in exciting times haha. Top work Simon, keep it up mate. I hope Asobo write you a check soon to get going ;)
@@bournejsn thanks alot. Yeah mate it's exciting times alright. I can't wait to get more of this in the sim. The closer to reality the sim is the more immersive and better for real life area familiarisation etc.
Basically film what ever you want with a high definition camera and then use software like reality capture or metashape to convert to photogrammetry. Obviously the model will be too poly heavy and looks abit rubbish as a raw scan but then if you make a model in blender you can swap out the existing model and overlay the photogrammetry textures for a more realistic clean look.

Hi Simon, great video! If I may ask, what kind of software have you used to convert the (I suppose) 360 video into the 3D scenery?
@@pimdeboerr thanks. I use Metashape. I tried reality capture as its free but it's limited to nVidia gpus.
To really tell I think we need you to hover a real helicopter around of the hut please Simon
@@grevis101 😂😂😂😂😂 I like your thinking

You are on to a winner here.
@@Pete-zm4xp thanks mate. Still have a bit of work to do to refine it
