Probably has to do with HIPAA laws. With what has been released, it looks like she may have suffered from a psychotic episode, and it is against the law to give out that medical information without consent, even for the police and reporters. Sending love and glow to her and her family.

I was crying & praying for this young lady. I'm so glad she's safe, but please don't let this be a false police report, because people will become reluctant to get involved the next time there is a REAL kidnapping😢 So many people were emotionally invested in this case, especially when there was supposedly a toddler in danger too!

I think we are all so used to getting information immediately that we’ve forgotten to be patient and wait for details to be revealed. News travels at the speed of light but answers can still take time to get. For now I’m thrilled she is alive. Imma move on while we wait for more details.

She pulled over and never walks back where the kid would have been. Just stands by passenger door. No other car pulls over. She dumps everything that could trace her and leaves.
Was in a hotel, Probably just needed to go get some without parents tracking her.
They said there was another vehicle that pulled in front of hers. They also reported a male in that area standing by her vehicle

@@erickanew my thoughts also , when it was supposedly reported that she was in The Red Roof Inn , 6 car loads of family turned up there to bring her home , maybe this young woman is being controlled by her own family and the pressure drove her to fake an escape. Very sad stuff indeed.

She didn't make a full stop til wayyyy ahead of where she actually switched to the emergency lane. There was no one. I think all this is in her head or wanted the attention. It certainly is suspicious. I have driven 459 so many times. The speed limit is 65mph. Traffic moves much faster. If she saw a child there, assuming she's in the lane closest to the side of the freeway she can't stop before passing the child at least 65mph. She had to go to the next exit and they are about 5 miles apart. Get off the freeway drive in the opposite direction to the next exit, exit the freeway, get back on, drive back to the area where she saw the child, search for the child. In the meantime no one else has seen the child.

Why did it take so long for her to pull over? If i saw a toddler on the side of a dark interstate I would pull right over where the child was. I wouldn't keep driving in the shoulder. She drove in the shoulder lights flashing a long way. She couldn't have seen it from that far away and was in the Shoulder driving to it. There were a lot of cars traveling on that highway Why didn't anyone else see a toddler? Something is fishy
It was a hoax, that's why there's no updates after 24 hours of her being found.
She "sees a toddler" walking along the road but instead of stopping and calling the police while she walks over to tend to the child while still driving she calls the police and then from her car she also calls her sister-in-law. She finally pulls over and gets out of her car leaving the keys in the ignition and the phone inside of the car and goes to the passenger side door.
Her actions don't sound like something a educated person would do. It sounds more than fishy it completely stinks like a Jussie Smollet!
It took her so long because there NEVER WAS a toddler. She was looking to pull over at that one sign because there was another car there or if she cut through the woods next to the freeway because there was a house or car for her next move. Total hoax.
Obviously she got off the ramp and came back around. This story is reported inaccurately, because the reporter knows that police never release important investigative details until the investigation is complete.

It’s not needless drama. This story has brought awareness for women in the future that come across “a baby in the woods” when instead it can be a murderer/kidnapper. Believe it or not these things happen. Women are now aware of the dangers and know to take safe precautions. Whether it happened to her or not she’s at least safe and women are aware that this COULD happen to them
That’s why police doesn’t treat missing black people seriously. She really was a chance to change this. But ended up as always with unnecessary drama.

My guess is it was a hoax…anytime the victim turns up on their own and it leads to more questions than answers, it’s usually a hoax.

She’s at the age many young people are diagnosed with schizophrenia. I know a lot of people here are aware of that. There were many reasons this sounded odd from the beginning, but the most important thing is that she came home safe. It may have been a hallucination/delusion that she believed to be real. I’m happy she is home with her loved ones to help her heal, whether from a real and imagined situation. Either is ok. I just hope for everyone’s sake, this wasn’t intentionally faked. Either way, I pray her family continues to show her love.

I really pray this wasn’t a made up thing. This story distracted everyone and we had our feelings in this for her and the mystery child! This is an example to why yes we are to be concerned about others and have compassion but we simply shouldn’t allow our feelings to so overly concerned about things in this world, because if this turns out to be not true this is really going to make even more people not have a heart when these types of things really do happen. I hope the public gets answers soon since so many were tied into this

I can imagine how fearful the community must be wondering if there is someone close snatching up women like that, especially the neighborhood behind where she just disappeared. I'm so glad Carlee is safe right now and her parents are more at peace. I just hope they will soon give back answers and maybe some peace to their community.
Agree💯 I too am happy she is home, but concerned for potentially future victims. Jefferson County already had two black women, both 31, shot and set on fire in April and in June. While I didn't hear about Ms. Jones murder til after the fact, I did hear both radio and tv alerts for Ms. Fowler as missing. Thankfully a suspect was arrested this month.
I’d like you to think this out, if I’m a kidnapper planning that trap why would I choose a busy highway exactly like that one, you can see from the cameras plenty of cars passed her without even slowing down. Also, how would I know a defenseless female will hop out only? It could be a truck full of grown men then what? I have no control over the situation and that’s exactly what a kidnapper would want

The fact that the neighborhood is right behind the treeline next to the highway makes me wonder if the person that "kidnapped" her lives there, and that this whole thing is an elaborate scheme to meet up for a little while. Weirder things have happened where someone is supposedly kidnapped only to discover they had a secret life and the abduction was just part of the plan. Only time will tell but I have a bad feeling about this one. I'd say there should be lots of clues in social media accounts and phone records.
She is at an age when signs of schizophrenia can start to manifest so maybe there is something there…
If you see the photos that she post it's obvious she likes attention. Those photos are heavily edited, compared to her real self they appear to be something for catfishing.

Surveillance camera showed absolutely no cars near her to have snatched her, her phone and Apple Watch were placed on the seat, she was reported by an employee at the Red Roof Inn to be staying there for the weekend near her parents' home and when police showed up to investigate, she had left again only to turn up at her parents' home on foot thirty minutes later... Just weird. I like many others believed fully that she had been baited and kidnapped, but it's not looking so certain anymore. I hope she gets whatever help she needs.

@@LiveByDesignOne truck driver said that - he could have gotten the location wrong. Who knows. Surveillance video did not show a man or gray car nor did it show a child. Only her car stopping. You can make out her getting out of the car, leaning into the drivers side & walking towards the woods. A few min later you can see a police car arriving on the scene.
The surveillance video is cut off not all is there if you. Notice there is cut just before cop car can be seen arriving. This missing footage could be where the car pulls up. And LE is keeping that under wraps

The police statement says it all, no mention of a suspect at large, giving the family time to deal with this situation. This was a blatant lie , not a hoax, all by Carlee. Now she's given the opportunity to use mental illness as a excuse, wrong on too many levels. The resources that were used, media coverage, volunteers in that extreme heat, this is unacceptable behavior.

Saw a tweet now deleted showing screen shot of a phone chat between her and another woman in heated exchange over the woman having a baby with her boyfriend. Wondering if the fight escalated. Puzzles me about the watch as no if she didn’t want to be tracked. I read she’s home so not kept in hospital for injuries or mental health evaluation. The police need to tell the public the truth as others may be in jeopardy.

I wonder what authorities have uncovered from her digital footprint like electronic transfers, communications, search results, ect ect. Probably the same thing that happenes to a lot of us. A mental breakdown. Bipolar/schizpphrena . Having hallucinations. I hope her parents encourage her to get help. My daughter is in Bellevue hospital right now. SHe left my house in 2011 to go out with friends. Didn't hear from her for a few years. Thank she ran again when I questoned her. She was homeless in Hawaii in 2020. It is heartbreaking.

I live about two miles from that exit. The speed limit on I-459 is 70mph (which people are going faster than that.) How could she have seen a child, if going at least the speed limit, slow down after calling 911, and stop at that mile marker expecting to see the child there? The only other explanation would be: she sees the child, calls 911, takes the exit and circles back around which would have taken about 5 minutes to get back to where she saw the child, cruise down the emergency lane looking for the child, stops when she sees the child on side of the road. Surely other drivers would have seen the child!!! Also, the grass is so tall in that area, about the height of a small child!!! The video shows it's up to the thighs of those men. Tall enough for someone to hide in the grass!

I think it cuts when she gets out and gets into another car, because they do not want her to know they know she is lying. She's going to jail. No doubt about it.

It's is really concerning when the population starts to believe what ever they see instead of waiting on evidence. This is really weird.
Its very odd how in the video when she enters the screen shes already driving in the "bike lane" with her blinkers on going at a fairly decent pace . She drives quite the distance before coming to a stop. So where is the toddler? You would assume the toddler would be located right near where she stopped. If so, why was she driving in the side lane with hazards on for such a long distance before finally stopping? There is no way she would have seen a toddler from that far away in the dark. Also, notice how not one other single car stops or even slows right down. If there was a toddler on the road you would expect many cars slowing down and more then just her stopping.
Also where is this silver car with the man that the "witness" saw pull in front of her and stop? The video doesn't show any silver car stopping in front of her, only shows the cops showing up a couple minutes after her car stops. Very odd story, with a lot of holes and questions. Who is the witness and is there any relation (friend?) to our victim?
Thank God she was on the phone, and they knew immediately something was wrong. There's a lot unanswered here, but it's such a relief that she's back with her loved ones.

Im confused why this girl that disappeared hasn't given the details of what happened to her. It seems like she would be the one with the information and if she was well enough to make it home? That would be the first thing my mom asked if I went missing for 2 days and randomly showed up, "what happened?".

We all saw the video. There wasn't another car there on the shoulder in front of hers nor was there a child seen anywhere around her car or around the shoulder. There were no other reports from any other drivers seeing a toddler. The video showing her driving a very long way down the emergency lane with her emergency flashers on is not consistent with her report that she saw a toddler and pulled over, unless she took an exit and looped back around which likely would have taken a quite a bit of time. It sounds like a hoax to me. When they confirm that it is I hope they charge her accordingly.
There was a car backing up behind the trees to the right of her car. You can see the backing lights if you zoom in but it's still all strange.

It seems like once a year there is a high profile case similar to this where a woman stages her own kidnapping then mysteriously shows back up. Maybe she is telling the truth, but i doubt it. If im wrong though there is some child out there somewhere, and that is probably the worst case scenario.

I suspected foul play in the kidnapping in the beginning but now I don't know what the story is because the parents are on the morning talk shows talking about privacy? That begs the question? Is this the Runaway Bride situation with cold feet? Was it a crack attack? Is she in heat? If you watch the interstate video, you can see her get out and walk to the passenger side of her car. Then it's nearly impossible to tell what happened in the next 2 minutes before the cop pulled up. I certainly could not see "a grey car pulled in front her car and a man standing outside of her car". I just pray she's okay

This is annoying. It’s her and her family’s business, so if they don’t want to share, fine. But we all want to hear what happened in her own words - what condition she arrived home in - why they felt she should go to the hospital to be checked out - etc. None of these news outlets are providing new information since the initial report that she’s alive and has returned home. Save your breath!
We all deserve to know. Valuable resources were used to find her, many people gave up their weekend to look for her in this horrific heat and her not so believable story is starting to seem like she committed a crime.

Sounds like this lady was pulling a "Sherrie Papini" or suffers from a diagnosed/undiagnosed mental illness and was in crisis mode. Police don't appear to be overly concerned about the "toddler" or mysterious "kidnapper", so 🤷♀️
