Just like last fall, I am amazed that the Farmall M has enough horsepower to handle the silo blower. I grew up in central WI and helped on farms in my youth and never saw a M hooked up to a blower.
Putting the doors in the reminds of the time I was helping the neighbor put them in his silo. I had to clean the grooves before I put each door in. All was going well till I got to the very top. After I got the groove cleaned I went to put the door in and it slipped out of my hand and fell inside the silo. I had to leave for my regular job and he had to figure out how to get that without taking all of them back out. Luckily it landed with the handle up and he was able to get it with a baling hook on a long rope. That was a tall silo too!
Sorry I have not been around for 8 or 9 days. Helene hit pretty hard. No power or water for 9 days. We were the lucky ones. All of our neighboring counties kinda got completely destroyed. Help pray for those folks for a quick recorvery. Everything they had is totally gone. Thats west of us. We are in Shelby N.C. But we made it. Loved the video. Can not wait for more. Thanks for letting me ride along.
We used to fill a 20×60 with an old Gehl Brothers blower. There was an attachment with an electric motor top of the blower that oscillated the blower pipe to help level the pile out. We'd get it full and the next morning it easily settled 3 to 4 doors over night. 4020 provided the power.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this harvest with you guys. I have been watching your channel for years along with a bunch of other farm channels and your farm vids are the only ones that have held my interest. I find myself skipping through the other farm channel's vids as they just seem to be going through the motions. Keep up the good work!
Really cool drone footage! Great job with that Aaron. Gives such a nice perspective of how beautiful the countryside is where you are, and how nice your farm is set up, and how well kept it is...That old Gehl blower really made that old MTA grunt! LOL! But you can l tell that the govoner is working good!
That silo isn't very tall. Always heard you need a horsepower per foot of silo height no way that's more than 40 or 45 feet tall, Super M is 48 pto hp if I remember right. I'd be putting the 686 ( or maybe it's a 666 I forget) on there but it's not my tractors.
i have never noticed this before but that is the smallest stave silo I have ever seen. There must be a story behind that. I looks like It was two silos at one time but I am totally guessing.
That was a common size silo into the 1940s and 50s when many farms had only 15-20 milking cows. I think it's 12 feet in diameter and a little over 30 feet tall. At that time it was also common for the silo to extended even below the barn floor 2 to 4 feet. The 2 white bands suggest that 10 feet was added on at some point.
about how much does a wagon load weigh? always loved puting silage up made more sence to me to do silage rather than chaseing a hay baler around all summer
Ought to have any carbon burned out of the SuMTA. Running a blower takes some grunt...can only imagine filling a silo over 70 feet tall. Glad the tire didn't go down in the field. That would've been a bummer.
The neighbor farm had a belt driven silage blower and the Allis WD would spit fire out the stack running that thing. Good old days and loved helping out on that farm.
I love that you guys have all that John Deere stuff around yet there is a little you John Deere in the breather jar of the M Farmall. Fantastic. I like stave silos as long as everything is working good.
The Roorda wagons we had were rear unloading so we had the long hopper. It would be fun hauling silage from the bottom. I do miss doing the farm work. Did you have a plugged blower or pipe? We had a 60ft silo and when that got plugged it was not fun.
Do you sell any of your corn or use for all silage? PTOs scare me. A friend of mines son was killed by one. Got his clothes hooked on to it. Please be careful.
nice video for an european point of view yuo guys are using strange equipment. here they use 6 or even 12 row choppers to make silage and verry big wagons in compare to the one you are using.
As a Minnesota farm kid whose class was in the mid 80s, filling silo sure brings back a flood of memories...
I still think this was the best scale for a dairy operation, and chopping with a 2 row harvester makes the most economical way of getting silage made.

Thanks for sharing guys. And thank you for feeding America 🇺🇸
Great job fellas , making short work of that hay and corn silage . Mother Nature was pretty good this year . What a view .👍
Did everyone make sure to hold on while he climbed back down the silo? I sure did. Thanks for keeping us all safe. Really enjoy the videos!
Thanks for posting. Very interesting

Got a friend that uses a super m to blow corn silage up a 60 footer
I used a JD 730D for both hay and silage, 60' silos. Pretty equal to an M I think.
gotta love the "almost bologna skins" on that M-T/A. Too many years on running on pavement did that to our "H"

We used to blow with a SMTA or regular M. It sure makes them idle smoother and run better after they get a good workout.
Love the drone shots.
LOL I love the John Deere toy in the IH air cleaner LOL
Thanks for pointing that out. I never noticed it.
I’ve been checking that out too, I wonder what the story is behind it
That PTO shaft needs a longer sleeve cover on the silage wagon !
Love the little John Deere in the air intake.
Keep up the good work and greetings from a dairy farmer from Switzerland
Enjoyed watching, have not seen it being done for 60+years

Awesome drone shots love watching and hearing those 10 series

Thank you for feeding the wirld
Sounds like that MTA has it's hands full with that blower.
Love the sound of the M-T/A on the blower, brings back memories.
Trying to kill that SMTA
Love the sound of those old gas powered farmalls
You guy's should build more silos
Thst ol GEHL blower going strong all these years 💪🏾
Brings back memories of us filling silo never put the Mta on the blower tho. Makes her work!
same here

I did have a friend that filled their 24x80 with a super Mta diesel for 27 years and they got it done ?
Love listening to that SuperMTA grunt on the blower. Almost as good as our John Deere R on the blower .
I really like the farmall!
Appreciate the time you take to show what you do. I tried, its a pain in the ass😂
Nice work, everyone!
If i may, can we all send out a prayer to Florida. Be safe, and may God keep you ALL safe.
In his name, we pray, Amen.
Prayers for everyone affected by the hurricanes.
Love the sound of the “M”. Thanks for sharing.
love watching guys

I recall they talked about the silo before and George said it is in the ground deep below the barn floor.
Looking good guys be safe out there your buddy from Nebraska
awesome job!!
Nice camera work!
about how much does a wagon load weigh? always loved puting silage up made more sence to me to do silage rather than chaseing a hay baler around all summer
Nice video Aaron
I found the John Deere tractor in the air pre cleaner of the MTA.
Great video and props to Owen for handling it just fine!!
Oops reading through the comments I see that I wasn’t the only one to see the JD😊

How are the crops doing on your new rented ground?
Thank you. Great video. Can almost smell the silage
It always makes me nervous working around spinning PTO shafts, especially when the guards are off.
The neighbor farm had a belt driven silage blower and the Allis WD would spit fire out the stack running that thing. Good old days and loved helping out on that farm.

i hope you don't mind my asking, was the toy 7810 JD you bought your Dad put in the Mason jar air intake on the Super MTA?
Do you have a silo unloader or pitch it out?
How many cows do you milk? And how big is your farm? I enjoy watching
How many loads did it take to fill it ? 7 little toothpick !
The Roorda wagons we had were rear unloading so we had the long hopper. It would be fun hauling silage from the bottom. I do miss doing the farm work. Did you have a plugged blower or pipe? We had a 60ft silo and when that got plugged it was not fun.
I just started watching your videos. Is there a way I can go back to the very first one and be able to watch them in sequence?
Is forgetting to close the silo doors anything like forgetting to close the milk tank valve! Asking for a friend!
We use to run the silage blower with our Massey 44 special
Looks like y'all are knocking right along with chopping.
What is the size of the silo ? 12x30 ? Put the 1066 on the blower ! Oh yea take the dual off first lol
How are those native sunglasses? I been thinking about getting a pair of them.
Had a jd blower blow up on my dad and I when I was a kid. Sent metal 20 ft un the air
What are the dimensions of that silo?
Great videos Aaron coming into spring here in South Australia
Sounds like you are making the M grunt pretty good
Maybe you could mount a wifi camera on top of your silo. Those camera batteries last a long time, at least several months between charges.
How tall is the silo??
Any way you can see the silo level using a drone? Climbing all the way up there is risky.
Love your videos, do u know when ull be getting more green hats want to order one for my step grandson.
I see there are more hats available at their online store.
Should put that Oliver on blower
686
How tall is your silo?
Beautiful farm! Great family operation. What more is there to say?
Wpw !
Why don't you have fluid in those tires , more traction
what do you guys use to unload the silo??
Do you sell any of your corn or use for all silage? PTOs scare me. A friend of mines son was killed by one. Got his clothes hooked on to it. Please be careful.
Mta got all it czn handle
Sorry the world auto correct
nice video for an european point of view yuo guys are using strange equipment. here they use 6 or even 12 row choppers to make silage and verry big wagons in compare to the one you are using.
No silo unloader ? You fork it out ? You guys sure like to work
Trying to kill that poor old m ?
What exactly does each cow get fed each day and how much of each?
