If you look at most gooseneck/5th wheel trailers, their frame rails do not run along the outside width, they are closer towards the center and the body hangs over the outer edges. By running narrower frame rails, you'll eliminate them being directly under the thrusters & taking damage. You could also angle them out around the thruster blast area if you didn't want to run them closer to the center line for the full length. To prevent your hinges from "going limp" when you detach, set up a couple event controllers and/or timer blocks (on the rover). Set the hinge lock on both hinges, set hand brake/parking on all trailer wheels, and then detach the rotor piece. Reverse the actions when re-attaching. You might also want to set up some hot-bar buttons to: 1. enable the trailer to help with propulsion when going up steeper inclines, and 2. increase traction for the trailer wheels so they don't slide while going downhill.
Weight distribution on trailers is best spread equally between the axles. Too much 'nose-weight' is just as bad as too much 'tail-weight'. Having your cargo containers at the back though should be offset by the weight of the miner being attached right behind the hitch... although I'm not sure how SE would calculate the physics there, especially with the miner being a separate grid. I'll be interested in your search for magnesium for creating ammo for your weaponry, I went to subscribe to that planet mod and one of the comments stated that their whole server had been able to find any Mg on that planet. I'll hold off on downloading it until you find some 😉 Great video by the way 👍
Having two horizontal hinges will cause revesing difficulties, as each hinge will reverse the direction it will move. So with a single hinge when travelling in reverse turning left causes the trailer to go right, add a second hinge and it will make it turn left (assuming real world physics which is part if this game i believe). This would drive you insane until you got used to it

I try to keep a balanced diet myself, so the log do have quite a bit of substance

add a cockpit to the trailer and call it a transport vehicle at this point 😀
Good video. What planet are you on?
Theros is the name of the planet. EP 1 has the mod list with the planet on it too.
@@AGreedyCrow Cool looking planet, thank you for the info
lmao sorry that's gross, but does beg the question. where's the bathroom in that hanger? that suit must be quite messy
