Keeping your foot on half throttle is deadly for kz2 engines. This leads to the fuel mixture getting to lean and the engine eventually runs out of lubrication.

This is not your regular neighbourhood track where you go for some laps... This was an WSK official practice session, 28 drivers on the track, you donÂīt really mess around trying to push the go kart - you let the marshals do their job. ItÂīs safer for everyone.

Nothing strange with the sound - we are always at the limit with the carb mix. Pulling the clutch helps to avoid a nasty spin, but itÂīs always to late to save the engine. In top karting KZ, KZ2 and OK categories seizing the engine is happening a lot, the engine tuners are so much pushing it to the limit...Last year at the FIA European Championship in Cremona I was racing OK with Tony Kart factory team and Vortex engine I seized 3 engines ... so much at the limit we were racing!

You are over OVER raving your motor in those quick downshifts. I know you want to be a hero but hero’s don’t downshift that fast! Daddy’s money will turn into your money and with the respect you have for your equipment as of now, you’ll be spending more than 2x what you should be spending.

Nothing wrong with the downshifts - itÂīs just so brutal the KZ2 for the engine. Well, at this level, the best KZ factory team in the world of karting, we change the piston every day, we run multiplke engines and rebuild, we have our dedicated engine tuner and TM official with us for race service. With all this I can assure you that we respect the material and everyone's work and the sportsmanship is at the highest level. Again, nothing to do with daddyÂīs money, as I was saying above, having money it helps but is not enough to reach this level in karting.

They aren’t there to save money - they’re there to be the fastest and at this level the way to be the fastest it to utilise engine braking to its full potential as they’ll handle 17k rpm under brakingâ€Ķ if it were a race day it’d be different as you try to look after the engine a little more and utilise very high rpms under braking for overtakes etc
