I am familiar with this location. This place will be wrecked when there is a tsunami, hurricane, or storm surge--just like all the other ocean front homes in the Poipu/Koloa area. It is too close to the ocean, and too low in elevation. The lava rock walls and pillars will stand, but the glass windows will blow out, and the wood in the home will be damaged. Judging from what I see in the video, there is a lava rock retaining wall in front of the house that was built illegally. It is too close to the high water mark. It was probably built so that the area behind it could be filled in. All of this would be illegal. All the homes in the Poipu area that were built this way were destroyed in hurricanes. The storm surge wiped them out. The lava retaining walls along the ocean were knocked down. This home is built on a small peninsula. It will encounter storm surge from three sides. Everyone in this house when the storm approaches will have to evacuate. Learn from the history of the Poipu area. If you want to buy in this area, buy a home that is set well back from the ocean and on an elevation. Remember hurricanes Iwa and Iniki. Get back from the ocea nat least 100 feet and for elevation look for at least 50 feet above sea level. Best of luck!

We appreciate your attention to detail in viewing our video. The home and grounds construction is all legally done. As well the design and construction of the home were done with the weather elements of the island in mind.

It may be legal like the comment says below. But, I still agree with you. Get farther back from the water and at an elevation. No way would I live in this house, even if I had the money. Live in Kona (Kailua-Kona) on the hill way above the water, you get way more bang for your buck. Kaua'i, Mau'i, and O'ahu too expensive. Live on the big island of Hawai'i instead. ; )
