The division in thoughts between Ambedkar and Gandhi probably came not only due to a generation gap , but also from the fact that Ambedkar actually felt the hurt of being a dalit first hand, while Gandhi was just an observer. So Gandhi's views were more rational(as a third person perspective ) and Ambedkar's views were a bit more emotional.

I am not very much fond of neither Gandhi nor ambedkar. But in this case I must say Gandhi was right. Giving separate electorate to dalits might be need of that time but if we look in larger perspective and today's context this trend would not be good for hindu society. Just like dalits, every community would demand separate electorate just like today every community demands for reservation. I'm brahmin by birth, but strongly go with Ambedkars way of thinking. Everyone should be treated equal. He is absolutely correct with Urbanization, we wasted 50years in this gandhian philosophy and got ourselves poor inspiring from rural poor India. Yeah. That's true. There was never such concept of casteism in sanatan. Castes were to be decided not by birth, but by the actions of person. It is actually written in Bhagwadgita (chapter 17 or 18 I think) that the caste of a person could be changed by his actions. A brahmin can become shudra. A shudra can become brahmin etc. Also, there was no such word as dalit ! It came into existence only after Max Muller mistranslated Manusmriti to divide hindus And it seems he got successful !!!

I think both of them play really important role in our history and we should not neglect either of them. But in modern Times reservation is such a big problem with it is now everybody has the right to education doesn't matter from which caste you are and think of it like for a government doctor general is getting 95% and then a lower caste is getting 70% so he would be selected rather than that 95% . so think of a doctor doing your operation in government hospital is not as certifies at the doctor who didn't get a chance to be in that hospital so it's kind of messed up . The division in thoughts between Ambedkar and Gandhi probably came not only due to a generation gap , but also from the fact that Ambedkar actually felt the hurt of being a dalit first hand, while Gandhi was just an observer. So Gandhi's views were more rational(as a third person perspective ) and Ambedkar's views were a bit more emotional.
100% support to Dr. Ambedkar. Caste is not bigger than Dharma, infact playing field should be absolutely equal for citizen of India. Gandhi was a master of blunder & surrender. At that time reservations were important and when the lower portion of our society is fully uplifted then we should remove Reservation and make it based on MERIT.

I am not very much fond of neither Gandhi nor ambedkar. But in this case I must say Gandhi was right. Giving separate electorate to dalits might be need of that time but if we look in larger perspective and today's context this trend would not be good for hindu society. Yeah. That's true. There was never such concept of casteism in sanatan.
Castes were to be decided not by birth, but by the actions of person.
It is actually written in Bhagwadgita (chapter 17 or 18 I think) that the caste of a person could be changed by his actions. A brahmin can become shudra. A shudra can become brahmin etc.
Also, there was no such word as dalit ! It came into existence only after Max Muller mistranslated Manusmriti to divide hindus
And it seems he got successful !!!

I think both of them play really important role in our history and we should not neglect either of them.
But in modern Times reservation is such a big problem with it is now everybody has the right to education doesn't matter from which caste you are and think of it like for a government doctor general is getting 95% and then a lower caste is getting 70% so he would be selected rather than that 95% . so think of a doctor doing your operation in government hospital is not as certifies at the doctor who didn't get a chance to be in that hospital so it's kind of messed up .

Both of them had important roles to play in india. One helped in organising non violent protests and being an important leader in indian independence movement. Other one help guide the country after independence to form a great constitution.
