This was a great lgbtq movie. The potrayal of lesbian character by madhuri dixit was really brave and commendable. This movie isn't 'woke', it talks about social issues. Lgbtq visibility isn't 'woke' or 'western'. Psychological association call it normal. Homosexuality is present in every species. Even in our own country, khajuraho temples have carvings about them.
The last dance sequence between kanchan and pallavi was the most heartwarming. When kanchan says 'agle janam mein, ladka ho kar tumse shaadi karungi' but pallavi says 'agle janam bhi ham dono ladki hokar shaadi karenge'. That literally made be so happy that pallavi finally embraced her identity and doesn't fear society. Madhuri dixit was too good in her potrayal of lesbian character.

If Pallavi had kids with a man and a sexual relationship with Kanchan as well, isn't she a bisexual instead of a lesbian as she is referred to?

She was in closet this whole time and since an elder generation, couldn't come out. Her husband was questioning his own stamina bcoz she kept rejecting him, that so bcoz she's lesbian. I haven't watch the movie yet though but that's all i interpret from the trailer

@@BMEOriginal To be frank, why Pallavi was so bothered by the relationship she had with Kanchan 30 yrs ago when subsequently she has been living as a straight person.
She didnt seem to have relationships with any other women after Kanchan. So it is quite likely that she had experimented in her youth with her sexuality like so many kids in western countries and perhaps even in India do.
Havent watched the movie, yet, but was Pallavi married to Manohar ji when she had an affair with Kanchan 30 yrs back for it to be an extramarital affair?
I also found the use of a lie detector test on prospective in-laws and that too by the girl's father and the future in-laws accepting it as well hilarious. It is also strange that in return, the boy and his family did not ask for a similar lie detector test on the girl's parents. Are we supposed to consider this progressive that now the girl's side is making outlandish demands and the boy's side is giving into them?

@@BMEOriginal 1st lf all in the movie they had never been intimated so u said ' unhone sharirik sambandh banaya' jabki movie me aisa kuch na dikhaya gaya na bataya gaya. And last me jo main scene tha wo lie detector scene tha. Jisme MD se unke lesbian hone ke baare me jo question puche jaate hain wo saare wo sahi batati hain phir bhi unka sach kisi ko pata nahi chalta. Kyoki ham to lgbtq ko bas physical relation se judge karte hain but its not just about sex, MD ne kabhi kisi ko galat nazar se nahi dekha na touch kia, na kisi female ke sath wo physical hui. Par ha wo lesbian hain movie me coz she loved a girl forever. Matlab lgbtq ka jo bhi concept hai ye ise iss movie me ache se clear kiya gaya hai, 'its not just about sexual choice its about feeling for someone, physical things are secondary, jo aapne nahi bataya. Baaki explanation sahi tha aapka

For Pallavi, the definition of lesbian was something else which people like Bob Hansraj will never understand.
