I have seen this movie and this scene is the best. One of the best movie....There is not replacement for Sridevi acting skills. Whenever i feel low i will watch this scene and get motivated.

I love this movie but it upsets me that her husband and daughter were ashamed of her Just because she didn't speak english. And at the end, they show her respect Just because now she can speak english. The langage you speak doesn't show your value

Her husband was also a very insecure and judgmental person. He instantly felt threatened when he saw her wife was getting the attention he thought she can' t get.
Thats not the point. She managed to convey her hurt feelings better in English than in Hindi. The father and daughter did not feel bad because she spoke English, but because she pointed out their bad behavior in an ironic way
