Same. I bought the base game and 3 days later, bought the rest. This was when Shadowbrìnger just came out for 2 weeks before hand. EW and DT i preordered as soon as we could. This game had me in its clutches in less than 10 hours in.
Finally, a FFXIV Shen video I can watch, I'm digging my fingers into my thighs everytime I see a FFXIV Shen video cuz I wanna watch but I must not let my eyes witness things they haven't seen yet. But watching a sprout be born? OH PRAISE BE HYDAELYN
I love seeing people greet streamers like this! I watched TBSkyen get greeted at the gates of Ishgard like this and he actually broke down crying it was so heartwarming
unlocking expansion jobs doesn't require getting to the expansion unless the quest giver is physically in the expansion. Just having a combat job at the minimum level is acceptable to unlock it. Machinist, Astrologian, and Dark Knight require access to Heavensward areas due to the quests being inside the first area of the expansion. Every other job in the game has the quest giver in the ARR main citystates. Rogue/Ninja can be unlocked at level 10 with ANY class, provided you can reach Limsa Lominsa. Red Mage and Samurai require level 50 and access to Ul'dah All the above jobs are available on the free trial. Gunbreaker and Dancer are level 60 and unlocked in Gridania and Limsa Lominsa respectively as well as the Shadowbringers Expansion having been purchased. Sage and Reaper are 70, and require Limsa Lomina and Ul'dah access and the Endwalker Expansion having been purchased. Viper and Pictormancer are level 80 and unlocked in Ul'Dah and Gridania, and require purchase of Dawntrail.
Well, there _is_ one job located in Limsa Lominsa that you can't get just by reaching the required level; Blue Mage won't become available until you complete ARR.
1:46:30 I actually started in Gridania as well, and it really felt like mother Miounne was taking a jab at my character's name right there, his name was Chadhagan Buddunga
I was a little way into HW with my lalafell Mahaka Maka when I decided I wanted everyone to be looking up at me, so I swapped to the most D&D Fire Giant looking femmroe with a Fantasia, but I didn't change my name so there's this gigantic lady with coal-black skin and fiery hair named Mahaka Maka. You see her and you can guess the pre-fantasia species, and I think that's beautiful.
As much as i like seeing people like Vul get into ff14 on stream, i wouldnt have minded if this happened off stream with both of them, because the amount of people following you around can get tedious and slightly annoying, even if they are just there to support and welcome you, sometimes they just get in the way, i can tell it gets tiring for streamers overtime, especially with something as long as ff14
and especially how the community reacts to how Streamers react to specific scenes, etc. But the biggest thing is the crowd of sheep trailing behind that a lot of the times just flood the screen; to make it even worse most streamers don't turn off Nameplates so it's just a clutter of blue on screen.
The difference here is that this is her opinion and her having the people around makes her happy. I am trying to manage them as much as possible and theyre actually being respectful so tbh what we think here doesn't matter. Every stream so far she LOVED the involvement of people, even if I have to herd them like sheep from time to time.

I don't know if it's rampant misogyny or what that makes people lose their mind when you're leaving out information that a new player doesn't need or when you let a new player die.
Its hypocrisy is what it is. Shen was so concerned about other people tarnishing the start of the game item trades that might actually be useful. @pwnorbepwned yeah it really bothered me watching Vulpixies vod. Shen was getting things wrong and then acted entitled when people were making corrections or trying to help clear things up. Them being partied up was a big mistake imo because it caused quite a few problems and confusion. Glad someone else pointed it out cause I didn't see like anyone else saying anything. And now people are trying to say its misogynistic too? I'd personally be just as annoyed no matter the gender.
I love that Vulpixie's avatar goes from "totally calm" to "screaming into the void" and nothing in between.

to "Fine I'll buy the base game just get a feel for it"
to "I bought the expansions" before being done with ARR
That is an absolute mood, i ground through level 30, popped into my FC discord with my characters name on the server name and went 'surprise'.
I on the other hand:
"They gave me 60 levels for free. *_I am getting my FREE 60 levels."_*
That was my experience too...
