So much fun shopping with you, Jes! I love when you share your thinking processes with us so much. My word, the new Diana Remembered hostas are just breathtaking and will look gorgeous your gardens. 💚🤍💚 Linda
I enjoy watching you work out your planting schemes. It all came out beautifully. The balance between variety and repetition is what makes a great garden.
Hi Jes, love how you arranged the plants. I wasn’t feeling the initial placement of the carex so where you put them is perfect. Love your gardens so much. Thanks for the movie 🦋💕
Hi Jes, Thanks for sharing this video. Very informative 😊❤ love always walking with you through your garden. My gardens need a lot of work right now definitely not as pretty as yours. My cone flowers all ready are looking very dried up and need to be cut back. Just a lot of clean-up. So I'm going to be busy Cleaning up and cutting things back. Jes, you have a blessed day and weekend that's coming up. 😊❤God's blessings ❤😊🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🍁🌻🌾🍂
I purchased 2 of the hostas Remembering Dinah last year. They will get a beautiful size. It warms my heart they named it after her. I'm in zone 9 but it snows here. It grows so nice, no brown edges. Your gardens are so beautiful!
Hi Jes🌺 . What abeautiful plants yo bought . This hosta White with green looks so beautiful . I loved how you arranged the plants they looks beautiful . Have awonderful day .🌺🌻🌺
I admire the way you invested some time and talked yourself through that decision process rather than just jumping in and grabbing. I think grabbing is what most of us would do if we found a sale like that!! Pros and Cons for sure....either regret buying or regret not buying, but not buying has a couple of bonus points....saves money and saves tim/effort planting things you really didn't need.
P.S. I bought (online) six of those PW Jacob's Ladder 'Golden Feathers' like the ones you planted. They arrived today and look great. I'm placing them and trying to decide where they will look best.
I’m so jealous of the great choices you have in plants! I have to depend on Lowe’s or Home Depot in my area. You do have great soil Jes…..most important component in successful plants. Have a blessed weekend! 💕🙏
Jes!! I LOVED & LOVE Princess Diana ♥️♥️😭😭. I was so very sad when she died. I think I cried for a week. That Hosta is very beautiful!! Also, I’m going to Countryside greenhouse one week from tomorrow. Next Thursday. That Brunnera is beautiful also! I can’t wait to go there & see if they have things that I will want! I remember your movie from last year where you got a lot of things from there and used your Xmas gift card you got from your in-laws. (It’s the same store, right?). Also, Dave Matthews Band is my all time favorite musical group and one of their songs were playing when you were shopping in there and it made me smile. 😊 I’m so happy to see you developing your new beds. It’s gonna be the Gully 2.0 and I’m anxious to see how things come together. Thank you for sharing with us sweetie! Always a joy to watch you. 😊♥️
Yes that’s the same store! I noticed the Dave Mathew’s. I figured I was gonna get a copywrite claim for that but they didn’t care! LOL must not have been loud enough
A movie suggestion idea: Go through your dump bed and dig out and plant some in that new section. The pulmonaria would add great color, texture, and shine!
Hi Jes, I am going to look for that hosta. 'Diana Remembered' . Leaves emerge blue-green in spring with a nice yellow margin. In summer the leaves are a shiny green with a pure white margin. Leaves are slightly folded and have some corrugation. Sounds beautiful.
Such a fantastic movie! Jes, you are just so insightful with gardening. I could watch you in your gardens all day long! You have so much to teach us! Take care! Cookie in Mandeville Louisiana
Jess I love your channel and your garden of course, I love to garden as well, I would love to get some Brunnera like the one you got, I just order the Great Alexander Brunnera it came from Holland on today's date April 1-24, got the roots, just planted it and can't wait to see how it grows, I garden in Texas zone 8B,
Jes: I enjoy your movies so much! You not only share your beautiful gardens with us but you teach along the way. I would never have split my brunneras if it had not been for you. I had a large one and my daughter wanted some so I was able to split them and gave her 3 of them. They are doing great in her yard. Thanks for your knowledge!❤❤
Nice job placing the plants you purchased and taking your time to find the right spot. That's hard for me too. We have some really nice nurseries but not much on sale I think it's because we have such a long growing season we can grow and plant through October and even November. Central California zone 9b. And of course, I cannot grow most of the plants you have in your garden beause it is very hot and dry. So there is some plant envy.
Jes , have you ever considered doing a “buy me a coffee” link? We don’t want you putting plants back 🫶🏼 Love your videos, I wish there were that big of a greenhouse around my area!
You are so lucky with that soil. I have hard pan clay and it is terrible to plant in. I always said I needed a stick of dynamite to dig a hole. My husband got me a power planter this spring and at 76 I planted 42 perennials.
So are so blessed to have access to such great plant selections in your area the plants look good but you need more of that “gold” color grass in that are to further brighten that area
Jes, I can totally relate how sometimes you're just not feeling it then sometimes out of the blue creativity hits ! Like the carex much better in the back. Oh yes I'm jealous of your beautiful soil !! That area is looking so good ! Love ya !!
I have spent the last 2 days bringing in houseplants because of the potential for temps in the 40s. I have lots of perennials to plant, but our ground is rock hard from lack of rain. Just trying to keep things alive.
I have been so inspired. My two little girls and I have been making our own gulley garden in Lancaster Ohio. It has been so much fun. We got some clearance plants at Meijer to start and I was wondering if Lowes will ever put their pretty hostas on sale. Thanks for sharing your heart and your garden.
I am so glad you upped the plants to the special and new to you varieties. Diana Remembered is creamy and beautiful like she was. I do think I need to try out brunera. My hostas are not liking our Southern heat, and only had short periods of looking good over the last 2 years. Crispy in 8b! I won't get rid of them, but need something to look lush and cool in summer.
You need to try them in a wet shaded area . I'm in 8a / 8b . My hostas were struggling so bad. But once I moved them they took off like a rocket's. Hope that helps. Have a wonderful day 🤗
Hi Jes! I love the new garden! I’ve never heard of that hosts and it’s so cool! You chose great plants and they’re going on my lists too. I don’t know how you passed up heucheras though. No way I could have and on sale? Hi... I’m Judy and I have a heuchera problem. Lol I so wish we had those garden places around us here in my area close. Off for a fix tomorrow. Lol
Oh how I wish I had your vision everything looks amazing!! I do the same thing when I see plants on clearance and want to buy all the things when I really don’t need them. Thanks for sharing your beautiful garden!! 🌸💕💕
You are so lucky to have that wonderful soil. It is from all the years of decomposing leaves that have been falling. Our local garden club has put leaves on some of our beds every year for 25 years and our soil is great too. It is the best mulch.
I’ve been putting mown leaves in my garden beds the last few years with cardboard on top and by spring I have dark black loamy soil. This year I am planting Dutch white clover to till in in the spring. I’ve read it has a lot of nutrients the plants will need to grow.
Hey Jes You are so lucky to have such an amazing place to get such great plants🙂 . Your soil is so great because it has been under trees for probably years and all that leave litter has been composting for years, nature is a wonder!!
Love the new hosta, Diana Remembered and the new brunnera. This winter maybe you can make a movie showing us your top ten hostas (plant and blooms) and why they’re your favorite. Love, love your gully garden❤️
Hey Jess when you came back an hour later and was like not feeling it. I was thinking the same thing. The Carex looked like it was being hidden/swallowed by the Hostas. Now they stand out and become a statement bordering the back of the walkway and you have them across in the next bed to. Absolutely love the beautiful plants you chose and can't wait to see where you put the Diana remembered hosta . I've never seen that one. Will have to keep my eyes open for it . Great movie as always. See you in your next one 🤗💓💞💕
I just was there a week ago..2 and half hr drive.i did see see all the $2.50 plants .i ended up buying $10 plants.they have a really nice entrance.i wanted to get a bleeding heart.they all sold out😮
That Captain Kirk hosta is a showstopper. I like how the carex in one bed planted on the exterioir matches those along the walking path ...also planted along the border. The drinking gourd hosta are so neat. Love how you figured out your yard growing zone.
I was excited yesterday when a local store has many plants 75 percent off! I only bought a clematis for 50 percent off but that’s as low as those well get I’m heating and there were only a few left. Now to plant it.
Love 💕 your plant haul , you’re so lucky to have such an enormous greenhouse with great varieties of plants near you and great prices ,too. Greetings from Massachusetts, a rainy day today, no gardening for me
Great purchases,I so love the Diana hosta & the Caption Kirk hosta, the flowers are beautiful. Good decision on putting plants back. I’m so bad if it’s on sale I think I have to have it & then have trouble finding a place to put it. Hope you have a great day 🇺🇸👩🌾
Jes, I do what you do a lot because it's a sale and then I ask if I REALLY need it or not......then it goes back, ha. A lot of us are tempted by sales so we are normal. Hey, by chance since I live in zone 6......do you know of a short perennial grass that is blue to put on a south sunny border like carex only blue because I have all the colors but blue in that mulch bed?? Anyone can answer this if they have ideas :)) Thanks!
I was thinking the Carex leaves were not standing up to the bigger hosta leaves. I was surprised when you came back on and said you weren’t feeling it. It was like you read my mind!😆
So pretty ❤❤❤ I love carex but I'm considered a zone 5/6 and same as you everglow doesn't come back but evergold does pretty well. Thanks for another great video!
I also have to say thanks for the tip on the $2.50 perennials at Country Side Greenhouse ! Maybe I’ll take a ride to check it out. It would be worth the trip but I’m afraid knowing me that I would spent WAY to much money there. Right now I’m debating in my head where or not to go. Maybe I can create an area to “ hold “ plants until I’m ready for them. Oh boy, the struggle is real! Thanks again though! Much appreciated! 🌺💚🙃
Hi Jes, have you ever seen or grown the pony tail grass(Stipa tenuissima)? It feels just like a horse tail. I got one that was in bad repair but it didn't make it. I so want to get several of them. So cool. Would love your thoughts on that type of grass.
Ok Jess, so you must have heard thru the grapevine how terrible my soil is here in Southern Virginia. You just HAD to show that beautiful black soil. 😂

Hey good looking was a song that was popular when I grew up. Thanks for singing it. Sweet memories.
You are the sweetest! You are so real. I love your property and your plantings! Gorgeous!!
Excellent final placement on the Carex! Thank you for the movie and songs. 🌞
Great video, thank you for sharing this with us
Beautiful flowers.❤
I was a lot like you when I was in my 40s. Saved every stone and was usually barefoot. Am now 77 so gave slowed down a bit. Love watching you!
I may plan my vacation next year to go to the $2.50 sale! That would be a perfect vacation lol
I like the carex in the back too! Glad you took a pause. So pretty.
Hi Jes, love how you arranged the plants. I wasn’t feeling the initial placement of the carex so where you put them is perfect. Love your gardens so much. Thanks for the movie 🦋💕
WOW WOW WOW LOVE your videos!!! Thank you!!
I love your music❤❤❤❤❤

You got some beauties to plant.
What a fab nursery!

I wish we had nurseries here like you have out there ! Wow !
The Pattern on that brunnera is everything!
I ❤ that looking glass Brunnera! Wish I could find it in my area.
I love the outcome❤

😍Beautiful job!
I drove 3 hours last year to go there and it was totally worth it.....I may do it again😊 Thanks Jes!!
If I could I would drive there too, but I'm in Montana.. ugh! We have nothing like that here! Happy shopping! Hope you go!
I need to get over there this week!
Did they have any little blue stem grass left? Thnx
Loved your plant placement too!

Wish there were a way to add a picture to the comments to show you our little gulley.
I’d love to see it! You can email it to me
Jesgardening@gmail.com if you would like :)
Hey Jes, Is there a reason you're not planting spring bulbs right now? Is it just not your style...... Your gardens amazing! Love ya x
Thanks! I usually wait to plant bulbs til they go on sale. LOL 😂
Thank you Jes. I really like the way you placed your new plants ! Looks amazing! 🌺💚🙃
I can't believe the great bargains that you get on plants. Your gully garden is gorgeous Jes. Bonny

I live in central Maine I wish I had a place like this near me. But maybe it’s a good thing I don’t because I’m a plantaholic.🤣🌺🌸🌾
I do like the plants in back better. Good thinking
You've got a beautiful garden. I noticed how rich your soil is! Great work!
Here in the South I'm still waiting for the sales to start. What a wonderful source for plants! Love the layout of the new plants.
It’s looking great Jes! Way to go!
Very beautiful area
You have soooo many beautiful hostas, how do you water all of them? And how often?
I don’t water them. I just let nature do it’s thing. But some of them do get a tiny bit of over head water from our lawn sprinklers.
@@jesthesinginggardener do you cut your hostas back? When? If you don't cut them back, they do just fine in the spring?
You are so lucky to have a nursery like that. ❤ your trunk looks like mine lol my husband says I need a truck.
The nursery is fantastic! I really like where you put the carex. Looks wonderful.
Will there soon be a “snake station” sign for the new garden area? 🐍😊
Lol 😂

I think our plants tell us where they want to be. Your area around the tree looks perfect. Love the Capt. Kirk hosta!
I really wish I had a nursery near me with such great prices. Everything is so beautiful. 😊
That Captain Kirk hosta is a showstopper. I like how the carex in one bed planted on the exterioir matches those along the walking path ...also planted along the border. The drinking gourd hosta are so neat. Love how you figured out your yard growing zone.
Still a good deal for this time of the year and the plant still look good.
Love your garden! Do you ever get slug or snail damage on your hosta’s
Not usually but this year I think I’m seeing some slug damage a little. Hard to tell quite yet. Gotta keep an eye on it
You are right…seeing that sale sign turns that “buy it” trigger. Ive had to do the same as you did…rethink things…works everytime.❤
God bless your love for hostas because I can not tell the difference 😊.. although I'm all the way in Florida, I love to see your garden and videos ❤
I was excited yesterday when a local store has many plants 75 percent off! I only bought a clematis for 50 percent off but that’s as low as those well get I’m heating and there were only a few left. Now to plant it.

Blue Fescue grass
Yes for sure blue fescue!!
Do you cut back all your hosta in the fall or clean up the debris in spring?
If I have time I do it in the fall. Otherwise I get to it in the spring
I was thinking the Carex leaves were not standing up to the bigger hosta leaves. I was surprised when you came back on and said you weren’t feeling it. It was like you read my mind!😆
😂
Is this Countryside Greenhouse in Allendale, Michigan? I’m trying to find it. Thanks!
Love all your new plantings and where you placed the carex That will be a wonderful addition to your back area
So pretty ❤❤❤ I love carex but I'm considered a zone 5/6 and same as you everglow doesn't come back but evergold does pretty well. Thanks for another great video!
💖💖🎶🎶
I also have to say thanks for the tip on the $2.50 perennials at Country Side Greenhouse ! Maybe I’ll take a ride to check it out. It would be worth the trip but I’m afraid knowing me that I would spent WAY to much money there. Right now I’m debating in my head where or not to go. Maybe I can create an area to “ hold “ plants until I’m ready for them. Oh boy, the struggle is real! Thanks again though! Much appreciated! 🌺💚🙃
Man I just can’t get perennials near me for under like $10 crazy in upstate NY. I would be buying the whole store for $2.50 LOL
Wow I can't get there I am in n.c and I don't have any of the brunnera
🇺🇸💚
❤🤍💙
Hi Jes, have you ever seen or grown the pony tail grass(Stipa tenuissima)? It feels just like a horse tail. I got one that was in bad repair but it didn't make it. I so want to get several of them. So cool. Would love your thoughts on that type of grass.
Ok Jess, so you must have heard thru the grapevine how terrible my soil is here in Southern Virginia. You just HAD to show that beautiful black soil. 😂
Sorry! 😢
Who's singing the song...... hey good looking?
I’m singing it but it’s a Hank Williams song
Could you ever start your own business? What would it be? Flower shop. Just think of all the people at your church that need flowers. They could buy from you. Jeff
that diana remembered looks like a painted leaf on white canvas
