Crazy that I've been watching this video really enjoying it, and when I come down to the comments it's all negative shit! What's going on guys can't we just appreciate how good this mix is instead of crying about what the music selection is? If you want different music kindly suggest it. OR GO MIX IT YOURSELF!!!!!
@@justinvanderkwaak1901 TBH I wish there was some "middle-ground". All I need is slightly bigger DDJ-400, just slightly bigger, with more output options (like 2-3 with one being XLR), 4-channel mixer and possibly slightly improved FX section. If I want that, I need to buy way higher setup that has a lot of expensive and not really needed things, like LCDs in the JOGs...
@@nxn.911 it's rather expensive for beginners, but literally has everything you need to start doing gigs. Even my local club uses one in conjunction to a pair of CDJ's sometimes. I've even seen them mix on it standalone!
Really tightly mixed, just wish you guys would play something else than 90% worship artists sometimes. Would love to see a deep/techy mix with Monty/Alix Perez, Halogenix or a soulful one with stuff like LSB, Lenzman and Spectrasoul. Much more interesting to listen and mix imo. These are the dnb equivalents of Aoki/Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike sets.
But you have to consider that people that are not as passionate about artists and their famestatus rather care for the music itself and you cannot deny that these tracks just fuckin rock 👌 But yeah i would love if they started an underground artists mix series as well
@@MetinPlayer1234 Tastes different, besides Slate grey and the kanine track I'm not a fan of any of those, there's literally hundreds out there that sound basically the same. That said, I'm a bit biased as I'm a huge dnb nerd tho. I also reckon most people watch these vids for the DJ skills, and not to hear a mix they could hear at literally party they go to. I personally think using different music opens up a lot of different DJ techniques.
what do you expect on a popular track showcase mix? most of these tracks are cookie cutter dancefloor shit anyway, where are the actual breakbeats instead of 170+ bpm 2-step electroshit?

For example:- 1st Channel = Laptop via recordbox 2nd Channel = XDJ Player 2 3rd Channel = XDJ Player 1 4th Channel = Laptop via recordbox
Get the Prime 4 IMO, much better in terms of display. However, if you are used to pioneer, this is one of the few club grade bits of kit I'd go for over a Dennon setup

That double-shift to switch layers is such an odd design decision.. .. would it really have hurt them so much to include a dedicated button on their multiple-thousand-dollar standalone?
What's ridiculous is DJCity reckon it was a bug in the beta firmware as it was removed on the first stable release, only to come back later. To think there would have been no shortcut 🤦♂️
It's a feature that was available on early firmware, then patched out later for some unknown reason, and coming back in some new firmware version soon (might be out already)
Chris Needham tbf, it’s not really different, just slightly different beat patterns, mixing with drum and bass is easy, as long as you can beat match, it’s a piece of cake 👍🔥

He will be using Serato. I'm sure you already know but it's Serato ready meaning that a full version of serato DJ pro is activated as soon as you plug it into your computer.
Max Hayes-Allen thing called phrase mixing. Music is made in 8 bar segments called phrases. Gist of it is same bpm means two 16 bar builds if started at same time will drop at same time. Would recommend TH-cam searching it to learn how.
@@harryford7021 thank you someone actually knows phrasing.. Lol.. Most young cats have no idea.. But it was a must learning how to mix with house and dnb using vinyl.
@@harryford7021 when we phrase right we don't need to loop and hot cue and drop mix it.. Its already happening and the tracks sound more married and stable. Drop mixing and to many hot cues and loops are fun. But sounds more like a unstable dysfunctional marriage with fighting. Lol

The mix is very very telegraphed too, dimension, Wilkinson and sub focus have been mixing these tracks in this order since maybe April

Coming from clubs, an previously owning cdj900s i was 100% sold on this machine, but then TH-cam showed me the prime 4 and 🤯 #torn
Get the Prime 4 IMO, much better in terms of display. However, if you are used to pioneer, this is one of the few club grade bits of kit I'd go for over a Dennon setup

@@SYRION_Music I agree, the only reason I'd recomend the XDJ is if you where used to pioneer and they wanted something to quickly replace their kit.

M B Phrasing was a game changer when I found it out. I think it comes a lot easier when you also have tried to make music.
