Honestly, the biggest offender for the game for me is the fact its existence foreshadowed how 4Kids would prematurely end the 5D's dub and the fact Extreme Victory was legal in both the TCG and OCG at the time, meaning we don't even get to duel Z-one, Antinomy and Misaki's true selves or even Aporia (who already had Mekanikle as a legal boss monster in the OCG at the time).

The 2009 to 2011 WC trilogy are easily the best Yu-Gi-Oh games I have ever played. That's what I have always wanted from Yu-Gi-Oh games, a full open world RPG with campaign. The 2010 in particular had such very cool twists on the main story that made just mad fun to play through. Easily the best Yu-Gi-Oh has ever been. Far more fun than mindless online ranking games with the same meta on and on and on.
I loved this game for the Turbo Duels. They put better pacing on the game. Most Spell Cards can't be activated on the first few turns due to the Speed Counter system. That concept with the lack of powercreep from 2012-now leads to some very fun gameplay. The duels start off slow and become faster towards the end instead of the other way around.
I love this game, the idea of introducing your character as an alternative savior. Misaki filling the role of Bruno. And how you unlock a card for the final boss is great. I would love a modded version of the game with update card library so you could get one of the newer synchro tuners and a level 12 synchro.
I owned this game for the ds. I always come back to it every now and then. The story not perfect was a blast to go through. I got the game for Christmas one year and couldn't put it down.

I should replay it soon, just to see how it stands up, 12y later. Sadge that we never got the conclusion of s4 in the game because that would be one hell of a story beat
Is there a "Maiden with Eyes of Blue" in this game? If there is, when or where to get/unlock? Which card pack or duelist rewarded us with this card? I download this game again for nostalgia feeling & decided to make Blue-Eyes deck for my favorite old card. But after doing some research on gamefaqs web, I got some people recomend "Blue-Eyed Maiden", but when I search it on card list trying to get it's code, it appears that card is not on the list of cards on this game, or am I missed it? I'm still early in the storyline (chapter 3 or 4, just move into the city) so not unlock all card pack yet or fight with all the duelist yet, but the fact that the card is not on the list but people on the forum recomend it really bother me, feels like my Blue-Eyes deck still uncomplete without it, since that card is more effective to call Blue-Eyes compare to The White Stone of Legend & Kaibaman combine.
I totally get what you mean about most games just plopping your character into the plot without making you have anything to do. Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards was a really bad offender to me because it just kind of has you take Yugi or Joey's place in most of the battle city duels but keeps all the plot intrigue related to the actual characters from the manga. You just play the cards.
Loved this game beck when it was released. shame i was shit at deck building back then. the amount of times i ended up reloading a save because of a bad hand or because of some incredibly shitty set-up from an NPC were just rediculous. However, i find myself appreciating this game even more now with this analysis. Shame the game i played was a friend's copy that i had to return at some point, cause now i feel an urge to play it again.
What I loved about this game is that I happened to make a synchro deck with Brionac as my go to Synchro. AND AND THE END THEY GIVE YOU TRISHULA AS AN OPTION FOR THE NEW CARD (AS IF IT IS THE EVOLUTION OF MY BRIONAC) 😂 I FELT LIKE THEY WERE SPYING ON ME 😂😂😂
I had this game in high school and had a friend who also had it and we would duel. I also 100% this game even the race time attack game, it was really the best Yugioh game, a shame they only make free to play cash grabs now.
i played probably over 1000 hours of world championship 2010 as a kid, i maxed out the amount of wins it would display against fortune lady light, and the tournament mode was so much fun to roll play with. i picked up this game after i found a copy at my lgs, and man it is a blast. i miss the tournament mode, but tag duel and turbo tag cpus along with the more focus on turbo dueling in the story gives me more reason to play this game. also the expanded cardpool really helps replayability. i will say, as someone who plays modern yugioh, the game displaying effects that "target" as "select" instead was offputting, as that is actually something that effects descision making. "my card says select not target, why can i not book of moon Aurkus lightsworn druid, which prevents targeting?" small anoyance but still there. also why are the enforcers called team satisfaction? little gripes. everything else is great tho.
While I do agree that this game is great and severely underrated in the grand scheme of Yu-Gi-Oh games, I think my biggest problem with the game is that it's just too easy. World Championship 2010 will probably be my preferred game in the trilogy because it does enough with the player character's role within the story while also having challenging AI.

I can however agree that it's better when the game does more than just insert you into the main plot and does it's own thing like Over the Nexus or the Bakugan Battle Brawlers video game.
Ah man this brought back so many memories for me, I remember searching so hard for this game as it was difficult to find the game in the UK. Young me found a website online selling the game and it seemed sketchy, but managed to convince my dad at the time to order it. Many weeks later, after I had lost hope, it arrived! With all 3 cards even! I played it to death, and to this day remains one of my favourite games. I would love to see Konami make something on this scale based off the original anime, it would be a huge success. Thank you for making this video!
I loved this for the same reason. If only they did a full scale game of it. Original with your own character, own team, building a runner and working to the championships. That's all I need and if they wana throw an adventure plot in too then great. My full general opinion is below. I'm the same way. I don't like PvP generally when it comes to anything. So the games are how I have always primarily played except with friends. As I got much older I started duelling others as it can be a HUGE benefit. But I still 200% prefer solo games. Which is why I have always been so disappointed by them and hate that cross duel is finally the only one to use holographic monsters rather than the full games like Legacy of the Duelist. I just hope they actually do it at some point. It has taken way too long to wait for just that and I hate that Magic the Gathering even did it properly first. The Yugioh games can be done SO much better. It's like they just don't know what to do with it.

However, Just exploring the limited world and building your deck during at least some semblance of a story was a really fun experience.

This was one of my favorite DS games I had as a kid. I was pretty new to Yugioh as a card game, and this one was challenging, as well as the two previous WC titles. I wish Konami continued making these, but Over the Nexus was the last one.
I have played and completed all 3 DS World Championship games and enjoyed them all... but the part in Stardust Accelerator where you have to sneak through Sector Security to get your stuff back after getting out of The Facility can quite honestly do one, my personal favourite would have to be Reverse of Arcadia, because of the fact that you became a legitimate signer in that game as opposed to a fake one in Stardust Accelerator and not at all in Over the Nexus.
Over the Nexus and Stardust Accelerator were my fav ygo games ever. I've played and replayed them so many times back in the day. Kinda wish Konami would make something like a Xenoverse-esc styled game for YGO with the same idea of like Master Duel where it just keeps doing updates and adding in new story dlcs like what Xenoverse 2 is doing.
So glad I did play these games back then, they were made with love unlike todays games. The music alone beats master duel and duel links by a mile. Masterduel has the lamest music ever, zero hype during duel…
This was the only yu gi oh game i ever ended op owning, so i cant say whether its better than most games. Also my Dream fore a yu gi oh game, would be an algamation betwen master duels, this type of story and open World game and a little bit of duel links thown into it. Imagene a yu gi oh game where you costemise your charekter, then go in the games story mode, where you can chose wich yu gi oh Series you wanna play the events of, from DM to Vrains, the rush dueling animes can have a game all fore Themself (i say that, but the game will problebly Force you, to do it in cronilogikal order) inside the story mode you play thoug the events of Said yu gi oh Series you chose, and duel side by side with the main chareckters, the dueling part of the game, will be just like how yu gi oh master duels have there dueling with all the costumacation and everything, and of course it has an online mode next to the story mode, where you of course can play against other players, and in that mode you dont haff to be the chareckter you created, but besides a duel monster, you can also be one of the other charekters in the show.
Those games setted the downfall of the franchise. The IA cheats, countering every deck you build, using banned cards that you are not allowed to play with. Is just a pile of BS and should not be considered a "hidden gem". Were just mere commercial material for the fking tournaments.
I need fan base to create a hacked version or mod of a Yu-Gi-Oh! GBA and NDS game, featuring updated cards, new mechanics, and balanced gameplay with difficulty levels: easy, medium, and hard for example
If you’re playing it as a rom, you should just be able to find an American version of the rom which will have the game be in English. You might’ve accidentally downloaded the Japanese version.
@@jaden577 actually mate, it was my emulator's firmware setting that was in JP.. kek So it set whatever ROM that got JP language in it to that setting, luckily just need to access the firmware settings to fiddle with it.. Oh been a blast two months playing the game~ Why don't new YGO games have stories in it.. :(

My personal favorite in the series is spirit caller. While the story of 5D is pretty good and the card mechanics are fun i just never grew to like the setting that much. To me it's always been really out of place for yugioh. Still it doesn't feel as out of place as the mess of a series that brought pendulum summoning.
Gotta admit yugioh gx spirit caller is my favorite but the story just follows the anime, they just made your character the main guy isntead of jaden/judai

Try Reshef of Destruction and Duelist of the Roses. Great original story. But look for youtube video about RoD instead playing it since that game is the hardest game ever as far as i know
Once the Story is finished, you can click Continue on the menu to go to Post-Game. There, Toru and Misaki will tell you that Bootleg proposes a new Tag Duel service. So by going there, you can change your partner. And then, Tag Duel opponents, including new people, will appear on the map, you just have to look for them!
Gx spirit caller is better cuz it has a glitch tht gives u all da cards in da shop 4 free so all ur friends can get da game nd have all da cards so its better u can both duel with all da cards
Damn started this recently and not only the duel have weight behind them like never before because you create your own character but the soundtrack is killer too.
The DS era of Yu-Gi-Oh is underrated, I have nostalgia for Sacred Cards and Rose of The Duelist, but the DS era showed that they can improved.

Gotta admit yugioh gx spirit caller is my favorite but the story just follows the anime, they just made your character the main guy isntead of jaden/judai

@@Not_cee the thing in pokemon is they base the story from the game first before the animation, unlike in yugioh gx spirit caller, as I've said i enjoy yugioh spirit caller don't get me wrong, but what I'm saying is I'm agreeing to cartoner's vid, yes they made you an original character but they just copy pasted your character in the story, but what he's pointing out in this vid is, here in this game your original character have an original story as well

Try Reshef of Destruction and Duelist of the Roses. Great original story. But look for youtube video about RoD instead playing it since that game is the hardest game ever as far as i know

Once the Story is finished, you can click Continue on the menu to go to Post-Game.
There, Toru and Misaki will tell you that Bootleg proposes a new Tag Duel service. So by going there, you can change your partner.
And then, Tag Duel opponents, including new people, will appear on the map, you just have to look for them!
I never liked not seeing the monsters on the fuel field. Felt like a downgrade

I cheated and added all the cards in the game to make a six samurai deck and swept the whole game with it

Damn started this recently and not only the duel have weight behind them like never before because you create your own character but the soundtrack is killer too.
I did play all 3 5ds wc games as a kid, and i still own them, they are really nice, i still miss the good old days of 5ds 🥹
