You would need the dlc called A Woman’s Lot if you want to get the dog. As far as I know, you just talk to Theresa and you can get the dog that you will find in skalitz when harrying your parents
A warning about the auto-save system of this game: 5 years ago there were multiple playthrough-breaking bugs in main story missions, so you could either lose an hour of progress due to one NPC getting stuck in terrain or even lose ability to advance story if the save point was unfortunate enough. Recommended to use a mod for better saving, I know you are not the type to misuse it.

oh so episode 12 i gave up and modded the game i lost 4 hours of videos to fast travel crashed and random bugs lol now i can just save when i want :)
