I started my first grind on yukon, now that it's dialed in, It is great. With 2300 moose, I have 24 diamonds, 10 rares and 1 great one. I believe that another great one is just around the corner. My whole map is set up with tents and tripods, I never have to adjust it, I use fore wheelers to collect far/multi moose. The only downside is when I heartshot a moose on a large lake from far away, can't find a way to speed that up.
But uh hey JBiz, i have a question about tripods and waterfowl blinds. Whats the difference? They both do the same thing except the waterfowl blind is 2x cheaper. Does the height matter? If so, what does the height angle do?
@@Ferno_YT there is no difference from a being visible to animals or hunting pressure. Scarecrow swears by the duck blinds because he believes they are faster to jump in and out of. I think both have their place. If it’s at a drink zone where animals can been in the reeds near the waters edge, the tripod is best to see above them. If you are on Te Awaroa with no reeds and great visability, pop a few ground blinds up, they do just as good.
It’s starting to become inconsistent for whitetail and fallow as well. I’m thinking it was an issue after some of these updates. Keep rechecking zones, I’ve been keeping a tent and tripod free for my rechecks.
I’m on my moose grind started yesterday and I’m about 250 kills in with 3 piebalds, 1 Albino and 1 diamond im still a bit confused if I’m shooting the high leveled males in my main zones and leaving the small ones in my main zones cuz I know to shoot down my exterior zones
@@Davey445 no, your main zones you want to leave the max levels, in your exterior/secondary zones you want to shoot them down to level 2’s and 1’s… but you can leave 3’s if they look like 2’s if you want
So I started my grind on Layton lakes and their were 4 zones that no longer have a male in it (3 of the 4 zones originally had 2 bulls and 3 cows and the other zone had 2 cows and 1 bull) ever since I shot the bulls they haven’t come back. I’ve double checked my map and found a lot of zones but I still don’t have a respawn. What should I do?
Moose are funny when they respawn. I’ve had something similar happen on my Medved grind. What I did was put a note of what zones were being wonky… just write down their coordinates or save a pic of where the zone is. I didn’t want to slow down my grind so I moved on to another zone. Then I came back way later and they were there!
there are certain 3s that have small palms that I do leave some of (if they’re solos or in groups hard to see) but they don’t have max weight estimates. My respawns are okay but some still spawn as lower levels, but mainly 4s. Is that okay?
I would say Rev would be my third pick but a close one to Layton. Better visibility than Layton but more herds to manage and find. Scarecrow got a Great one on revontuli in under 300 kills using light herd management
I’ve literally grinded new England’s an have every single zone an got a albino female moose after like 400 kills new, crazy I was alr on Medved too getting sum bulls
I have 130 moose zones on Medved. Most people have 120 plus! Keep looking, another strategy is to check zones later in the drink time if you normally check them in the early part of the drink time
I still dont understand herd management fully, I feel like its this strategy that everyone collectively knows and understands so no one bothers to simply explain it
i love how in detail you went with this, great video!

Best way to speed it up is using pickup tents and working less zones
Thank you so much for this 👏🏽heading now to Taiga, it seems I need to discover more zones 😂
I have a drink zone literally on every body of water and don’t forget the 3 hidden lakes.
Great Video!! I plan on doing my moose grind soon after i get my Fallow G1
Good luck! I’m 2000+ on my moose grind on Medved and still no G1

@@hales_hunting you either have some big 4’s somewhere on the map or you need to manage down some of those 3’s to become 2’s
Can i shoot the level 5 in my main zone clise to the start or in the middle of the grind?
