They also made it so a .22 spooks everything like any other caliber, i hadn't played cotw in a while and i shot my .22 next to a diamond red deer to get its attention but instead he and everything else around the lake ran away, found that out the hard way lol.
as a still somewhat of a beginner to this game i can really recommend a gembok night grind (for the people who are new to this game and want to earn some fast cash and xp for new gear and also like hunting at night). I really like that type of grinding because it is really rewarding, and gemboks are kinda stupid when it is night time if i look at their behaviour so shooting from closer distances is no problem at all then.
I'm finally going after a great one. The moose is the only one I'm willing to spend time on. And chasing them on Yukon. I had a level three run off earlier tonight, from a range of 270m. I didn't know that the spook range was increased. I don't know if it was the shot that scared him or the three wolves that walked in.
As I was getting my moose zones I found a level 5 it was my first kill of the grind and my first diamond moose ever. Plus it all happened while watching your vid
Medved Initial spawn GO. Little pond south of crater. All of those were loaded on my map. Plans for grind killed hours after I started. Now to just keep going to see if I can get one with fur variation now.
I had mine down to medved or Yukon, but I ultimately chose Yukon because it is my favorite scenic map in the game. I got 48 so far. 1 troll and 1 albino so not a bad start
I love how they made the animals run faster right because on PC it’s kind of easy to move your mouse over but on controller you gotta move a joystick and that is not easy to get on the second animal
Starting MY grind off right: a melanistic female, piebald female, and a melanistic male havent even done my first run yet also im not sure how I feel about the devs fixing gray wolves, I've now been attacked 3 times by a pack of gray wolves and I've only had time to put in 2-3 hours today on setting up my grind on yukon its annoying but also nice to have them working again

Do you put tents and tripods at every or almost every zone? I’m not new to the game but this is only my second grind and the first was a fallow grind with no tents or tripods and it worked but do you recommend tents and tripods at every zone? Thank you for the awesome content as well
Anyonr found moose in the giant pit in pyanny forest during drink time before? Got a diamond earlier tonight but decided i want 2 in the lodge entrance. Wasnt getting much respawns and figured they were in some of the less hunted lakes. When i ran by saw 2 lvl 4 bulls just sitting in there not drinking arou d 14:00.
I see you have the medved customization on your 300 I have that on mine but for the barrel I have the plain green idk what map it comes with but it is the same green that is on the medved camo. I think it looks really good you should try it

I hunt whitetail and my hunt was absolute crap lastnight. I mean my zones are close. Why would they change how close animals will startle from gun shots. Why have 6 Zones 500 yards from eachother and one shot scares everything. I’m rather new but this has been a HUGE bumber. All my big deer are gone off my zones.
Sometimes I'm not in the mood to try doubles or triples and I still end up getting doubles and triples by the time I shoot one from 300+, walk in to them coming back and get one at ~150, and then get a third as I'm picking up the first two. Not looking forward to seeing how/if the update has changed that.
I'm playing on the PS4 After the update I did a few days ago it now marks the animal that I tried to spot and tells me the yardage. So basically you don't need a rangefinder now. Just "spot animal", double click square and it will set a marker and tell you the range automatically
Yeah but if you have an area marked there is no way to spot it and keep ur mark. If I didn’t have a range finder id be happy I guess. But still. You could do the same, just not with that button. They fire button or something
@@BenMyattt Correct. You lose your marker and it puts it in the way of the animal when you're not looking through binos. I don't like it. Also it won't let me see the bullet trajectory anymore for some reason.
I just got New England mountains and the ar pack and when I use the .308 8 hit a whitetail right in the lungs and it runs off for like 300 meters, does anyone know why white tail aren’t dropping
My biggest problem with the new system is that there was absolutely no mention of it in the patch notes. I would not have bought the new dlc had I known this update was coming into the game.
It would be nice if the cap on tents was lifted. I don't play a lot and I'd rather spend my time having fun instead of running around because a fast travel point is 500+ yards from where I want to be. I'd like to see it be 1k for the first tent, 16k for the 16th tent, 50k for the 50th tent, etc.
COTW is super bugged for me after the update. Dog doesn't work, keybinds don't work. Animals dont register a bullet hit them sometimes. like I am 100% sure i hit them but its like they didn't get shot. No blood either. It is actually awful and unplayable, so watching this fills the emptyness in my soul just a tad lol
Hey Flinter I’m a huge fan, so I have a question. I ran into a bit of an inconvenience with the new update. How do I spot an animal without adding a marker. I play on Xbox one if anyone could let me know that’d be great
Grinding moose on medved and absolutely hate it. There are so many zones and it doesn’t feel like it’s possible to get to them. I’ve checked everybody of water and set up my 16 tents all ready and I can’t reach 20-30 zones. I’ve grinded bear, white tail, and red deer and they were so fun. This isn’t fun it feels like more of a chore. Ew was not up front with us like they usually are and it is bothersome.
I tried starting a moose grind but the moose never seem to come during their drink time and when I did get a bunch of moose a few times it seemed like they never spawned back

Okay so basically i play on my cousins account and i have been helping him get into heard management and stacking so we can put down more diamonds and eventually rares/super rares. We have been hunting reventouli lately and he killed a piebald bull at one lake and i killed a piebald cow at another lake, well i was finding new zones and as i was running up to this lake from an outpost i spooked a level 4 piebald moose and i tracked that thing for over and hour and the tracks just stopped. I ended up finding a rest zone near where i first seen him at but after 2 irl days of going back to the zone, sitting in a stand etc, i still have yet to see him again. Do you know of anything that i can do or what i need to do? I’m still not fully knowledgeable of the game so i’m a little frustrated and upset that i let such a gorgeous rare moose get away like that lol. Thank you in advance!!

Really depends. Moose are kinda unpredictable. I have a feeling the urban ones that are closer to people are far less likely to be bothered by it. They've watched us go by on snow machines from 50-100 yards in the mid state boonies and they wander through campsites down in Kenai.
It’s pretty difficult to get multiple shots off with controller… it sounds ridiculous in a game like this but having a very very light aim assist would make it slightly easier for Controller players to shoost half a herd 😅

Definitely doing my grind on Medved. Already got an initial spawn 283.9 diamond at the big lake less than 20 bulls into the grind :D

Northern river on the New England map is the best so far for moose grinding

My friend shot a 274.41 scoring diamond whitetail on day 2 of New England. That is insane in my opinion

If u go to the first outpost on the new map and go to the creek and take a left it should be loaded with whitetail and moose
I was gonna do a moose GO grind till I learned that most moose GOs will be common and that sorta bummed me out.

😂I did the same thing with springbok on Vurhonga 1st one was a double lung 3nd ducked as I shot and I hit it in the brain and 3rd one I double lunged
Most realistic map for this type of thing is Yukon. You wouldnt see such giant anywhere on earth expect from Alaska
Moose originate from Siberia where Medved is. While I agree Yukon produces monsters nothing ever compares to the origin point home range.

The fur isnt really that fluffy on moose tho, they are more short haired. (Can depend wich season it is)
