Yup You can’t convince me Microsoft and buy rare just a Nerf Nintendo when basically give them selves a fighting chance making their way into the video game market and sadly they got another leg up from Sony being a never ending Calvacade of screw ups that year
yeah thats my fav as well! I just finished the first and second one on my channel and am now working on the third one if youd like to come check it out:)
All three of the games were the greatest in their own ways. DKC1 was the original and the only one where you actually "play" as Donkey Kong. DKC2 had the best music and had the best challenges. DKC3 gave the most interesting gameplay and the best graphics. There's no "best" among them. Why can't people just agree on that?
MCSuire The reason for that is that people have their favorites and often people get into arguments. My favorite out of the three is the first, but I love Donkey Kong 64 over these.
I have to say, I think the music in all 3 games are good on there own equally. I personality like the SNES DKC3 music the best than the rest but at the same time, some like the more pirate and techno music more than "mystery" and "environment" music so there good on there own. None is legitimately better I think. :)
So wait.....why didn't k rool just keep going? He could've like crashed into anything to get that eggshell off of him and like make a run for it, but I'm guessing he's like "fuck it I'm done?"
agree with the statement at the end - DKC2 was a hard act to follow, but I think this managed it well. The last DKC game on SNES, and honestly I thought it was a blockbuster finish. Such a novel idea with the overworld navigation and exploration, "good music" (not the best of the series) and some brilliant boss design. Practically a summary of my SNES experience.
One of my favorite games, but i make the 105% several times over 2:20 in my last record, and until now i notice about that ranking screen at the end and the inmortal monkey, great!
The code needs to be entered before starting the game. The 105% clear conditions includes the removal of checkpoints and most DK Barrels, both of which are tied to the extra 2% clear rate.
Nice! I've played this game on and off since I was a kid and never got thru the volcano island world. Loved the video, had no idea this existed in the game. :D
You can use the "HARDR" code. But only before starting a new game if you want the 104% It removes 29 DK barrels from the game., where as "TUFST" removes both the Aforementioned DK Barrels and all Save Point Barrels. These %s can be obtained where you clear the game fully. Hope that helps explain it a bit.
Let's try to answer all 3 of your questions in one shot. I've covered these matters through this video series. I have a Playlist if you like.. Kremwood Forest: Beat Brash's Riverside Race's record time. His anger will shake the log into the river. The Mirror: Go back to Barter after clearing Razor Ridge (or later) to buy back the Mirror. Caves: Various tasks are required for some caves to open. Many are found on the Northern Kremishpere (World Map). Some have an item trade sequence involved.
Did anyone notice that, while in that cutscene of the Banana Bird Queen chasing K. Rool, the small waterfall in Cotton Top Cove was messed up? Pause at 7:09 and you'll see it!
You have to use that code before starting a new game in order to obtain a higher clear percentage. The reason why is because the clear percentage is related to what the code does (which is removing checkpoints and most DK Barrels).
OK and couldn't the banana bird queen just walk around or fly over that wall! Bird brain! Lazy bitch made you go through that whole quest because she was too lazy.
thats why I never bothered with her, I rather beat the game the old school way. that is the real ending, with staff roll creds and funny bloops which is better than the last 2 games ending, fuck this secret ending crap.
It allows you to earn an extra 2% that you could not get without it. For example, 1 % is obtained by beating the game while skipping and never breaking every single save barrel halfway through each stage. Some stages makes this impossible because they are blocking the way (like Rocket Rush).
...and here I thought it only went to 103%. I didn't find the big banana bird but there were no walkthroughs back then only the nintendo power game manuals which I could not afford. I must have missed one of the little bird caves as well.
Yeah, I was gonna ask the same thing. The quality of it is unreal!! It blows my mind even 25 years after the game's release!! I can't believe what I am seeing! And this is a SNES game, folks, keep in mind. Unbelievable! This game has surprised me in many ways! Even the music test screen is gorgeous and unexpected!
I just don't get why so many people are being directed to this particular video. This is basically the end of the game. Most of the meat-and-bones is found in all the other videos. Oh well. I guess the less-interesting stuff tends to be the most popular for some reason. Anyone who would like to see the full game through, there is a playlist here: th-cam.com/video/56KqYU65GKo/w-d-xo.html.
Heh heh... you could be right. I never thought about it much, but the other titles are all over the place. Synonyms are not that clever when thrown out randomly.
+Saestrol also matt from two best freinds play mentioned the end and how weird it was so alot of people are looking it up, and well yeah your video is probebly the best named wise so people are finding it easier
+Saestrol this is the first vid I've seen of yours, I only clicked it for the nostolgia factor. Beating this and DKC2 100% legit on the SNES as a kid was the pimp shit. Then DK 64 came out and I hated it :(
Este juego me perturba algo por el estilo de animación. Pero qué buen juego que es, muchos lo infravaloran pero es un digno juego de la trilogía. Además de que su música es muy buena también
For DKC 1... Platform Perils was probably the hardest level. It was a NIGHTMARE for me lol. For DKC 2... TOXIC TOWER. I hated that one so much. it's the one where you turn into Rattle (the snake animal) and you ascend the tower while green poison slowly rises up. For DKC 3... the rocket level in the LOST WORLD. Actually, all of the Lost World levels were fu**king hard...
Imagine being like a 5 yr old and one day you go with your cousin to kill a crocodile and from nothing you make free a giant bird that looks like a banana and puts the crocodile in a giant egg.
donkey kong 3 doesn't even feel like donkey kong lol. They never mention it anymore its totally forgot about. It has no connection to dk returns or tropical freeze cause the director said himself it was made by a different team and was way to different lol. The music in dk3 also is terrible. Sounds like a bunch of kid noises u would hear from a preschool. DK 3 is bad :D With that being said its ok if u like it man, but it really is just not a donkey kong game lol.
No, not now. I think I might get around to it later, but for now, I'll focus on something different at this time. I probably should have started with that one if I had known people would like the series.
To obtain this clear percentage, you need to use a code known as "TUFST" on your file before starting the game. This game was programmed to make an extra 2% available when this code is turned on. Example: I believe that 1% of the completion was for finishing the game without using a single Star Barrel. Some bonus stages shoot you out right into one, making it impossible unless you use that code.
DKC... 1 - Poison Pond: Because of all those fish at the end of the level. Without Enguarde, it's a constant gamble to avoid them. 2 - Klobber Karnage. I inherited the difficulty from this stage after playing it through ZSNES (Spin Barrel Emulation Glitch) 3 - Ripsaw Rage. This one really gave me problems as a kid because I couldn't get over the fact that you have to keep moving. Still catches me off guard from time to time. Although, this list can vary. But that's what I'd say for now.
Half of the first ending skipped because I didn't feel like devoting two parts into it. Also, some time not accounted for in the file is map travel in between stages.
A) You don't need the Caps Lock. Robots tend to be characterized with this, but it's otherwise on par with yelling. B) Each and every stage has a DK Coin you can find. You will know if you found it when the "DK" mark appears beside the name of the level. Send this to PMs if you need any further explanations.
@freakin1random I don't know if this has been mentioned before (probably), but this game was made near the SNES' life cycle. Rare was already gearing up for the N64, and I think it really showed in the quality of DKC3. I don't think it was anywhere close to being as horrible as you say it was, but it definitely felt like it had a markedly lower budget.
I do like the effort they put into it. Just wish they could have done a few more levels that didn't use a level theme already present in some other world.
All the good staff left Rare around the time of the GameCube era, only a few still work at Rare which explains the mediocre quality of Star Fox Adventures. Because Rare is no longer as big as they were in the 16Bit era, Nintendo had to sold them over to Microsoft.
It might be because of the overall like generated for DKC2. DKC3 was released closer to the end of the SNES' Life cycle. That alone may have gotten people to consider it "forgettable" in some aspects, which is really unfair. It's really a divided opinion a lot of people have about this game, compared to the other two.
@TheFujiFactor Unlike DKC 1 and 3 in which the worlds were more nature based, DKC2 had a lava world, an amusement park world, a sunken ship world, etc. In other words, the scenery was much more creative whereas in the 1st and 3rd game the scenery was pretty much the same between worlds (except maybe the snow worlds). (Also, the factory world in DKC1 made for a change in scenery as well).
Whatever people say about this game, it is still one of the top 20 SNES games. To me, I see why that is because this game has even more depth to explore than the last two games. But I can honestly say that this game was kinda silly with how they finish the bosses and that they die not epically like in Diddy Kong's Quest. Even the ending was more dramatic than this because the island explodes. Regardless, they're all great games. They developed higher from 1 to 3 with more gamplay and exploring.
thanks for the 105% in this game i love the gba remake because you can take the game with you anywhere and plus you get one bonus world, too bad it hasnt got the awesome graphics as the snes version
And Kiddie Kong was never seen again, in any game. Like straight up, he was strong as a baby ape, I'd be willing to bet that Kiddie Kong would rival DK in raw power once he grew up, and lets be honest, Rivaling DK in brute strength is no easy feat.
You've got to sat? DKC2 is definitely remembered more for it tenacious difficulty, but I think DKC3 does have some memorable songs, despite popular belief.
I have no idea. In fact, There hasn't been any real research about all the possible ranks and what triggers them. Cheatin' Chump usually results when you save after using WATER and taking those free B! coins, but maybe they changed things around for the GBA.
It was that or animate a giant banana bird pecking his flesh off untilhe turns into a skeleton by how pissed mama banana bird was and that's not supposed to be a gruesome kind of game
silvino bastos There's a code you have to enter in on the file screen. It just makes the game harder. It takes away most of the DK barrels and the checkpoint barrels. You just beat the game like you would for a 103% and it gives you 105 for doing the hardest option.
I think there were issues of Nintendo Power that mentions how to use the various codes. But it was only through trial and error one could figure out the secret behind the extra 2% that the code allows (one percentage point is given for completing all the stages while never hitting a save/checkpoint barrel). I think you might obtain a random code when you beat the game, but I'm just hypothesizing here.
Supposedly he's "already done it". He always boasts about how much he used to do with one life and all that stuff (especially in the first DKC). Either that, or he really likes to live up to his name.
You have to use the 'TUFST' code when you start a new game. It makes the game harder (all save and DK barrels are removed, but you start every level with both kongs, even if you finished the last one with only 1)
Maybe in the display department. But I'm out of my league when it comes to speed running the game (to which the real pros roam). But thanks. I wanted to make DKC3 look fun to play.
Were you aware that if you drive the hovercraft around the volcano multiple times that it rises out of the water not sure if the direction your going matters been so long
Unfortunately, no. This custom title screen was created using video editing and Chroma Keying. It's slightly modified from the original as you move through the playlist.
That cheat rating is usually associated with using the WATER code and saving. But it may be affected by that one too. HARDR, TUFST, ERASE, COLOR, MUSIC and MERRY shouldn't affect your rating. I'm not sure which version of the game you are playing but it just might be that it's a version-specific change (a very minor one if at all) People haven't really gone and found out what all the ratings are, or tested which ones cause the Cheatin' Chump very much at all.
Graphically musically all three were incredible this was a major turning point for Nintendo
Yup You can’t convince me Microsoft and buy rare just a Nerf Nintendo when basically give them selves a fighting chance making their way into the video game market and sadly they got another leg up from Sony being a never ending Calvacade of screw ups that year
Bird lady looks like she could easily just side step round that there wall though
Because it's enchanted. ;)
Mother goose you mean
Literally my thoughts as I just finished this game
Childhood magic 😏
Or fly over it, but it’s “magical”, so we’ll roll with it
look at those beautiful backgrounds.
DKC2 is my favorite. Something about the animation in DK3 creeps me out
yeah thats my fav as well! I just finished the first and second one on my channel and am now working on the third one if youd like to come check it out:)
GingerSnack 2:39 look at Dixie
I've played DKC1,DKC2,DKC3,DK64,DONKEY KONG COUNTRY, DK TROPICAL FREEZE, DONKEY KONG (ORIGINAL), ETC. my least favorite is DKC3
DK2 is also my favorite I love the music an DC the animation
the thing about dkc 3 with me is where would donkey kong island be in relation to the overworld map?
All three of the games were the greatest in their own ways. DKC1 was the original and the only one where you actually "play" as Donkey Kong. DKC2 had the best music and had the best challenges. DKC3 gave the most interesting gameplay and the best graphics. There's no "best" among them. Why can't people just agree on that?

***** I found the second game had some unfair difficulty such as the bad controls for the rattlesnake.
***** No the game just has some bad gimmicks in it and that is where some of the difficulty comes from. Still a really good game.
***** I disagree. Calm down.
1:38 dixie is like: yeaaaahh druuuggssss
Javersito yes xD
SinisterMinister If that's a fact, he is the funniest 12 year old I've ever met.
hahahahahaha
+SinisterMinister are you fun at parties? Probably not, because you probably wouldn't get invited to one... not with that shitty attitude.

Skymaster577
I'm guessing the engine gave out. He did slow down on a straight line before Mama Bird reached him.
first time i saw this I was like "this guy gotta be kidding, thats fake"
I couldnt believe that...

105% in 2 and a half hours is already plenty "best record-y" enough for me. Great job on the playthrough, and with 6 letters to spare.
I remember unlocking this ending as a kid. was blown away
The game doesn't truly end until you set free all of the banana birds.
One of my favorite games, but i make the 105% several times over 2:20 in my last record, and until now i notice about that ranking screen at the end and the inmortal monkey, great!
So they just sit there tapping until the crocodile goes insane?
I don't know 😕
k. rool got mad boat skillz
I've had this game for 15 years, and I never knew k rool gets beaten by a giant banana bird.
Great ending
Caraca veio! A musiquinha no final fez eu chorar oh! 😢 que saudade dessa época
Lore of Donkey Kong Country 3: 105% T - The True End momentum 100

6:55 Did... did K. Rool just jack Funky's ride? LOL
0:05 What if Cranky was actually playing DK64?
*time paradox*
When I freed the banana bird queen it was so fucking amazing. I still remember the first time I did it about 15 years ago
Nice
Why did you respond to yourself?

Its funny how they have references to the Nintendo 64 in this game :) You can see one of them in 9:44 :)
Did anyone notice that, while in that cutscene of the Banana Bird Queen chasing K. Rool, the small waterfall in Cotton Top Cove was messed up? Pause at 7:09 and you'll see it!

Hi have tried putting the cheat code in when you start putting the left right part in it goes of the select game page please help
OK and couldn't the banana bird queen just walk around or fly over that wall! Bird brain! Lazy bitch made you go through that whole quest because she was too lazy.
+Aymuthe she was stuck and couldn't move because of a powerful magic spell!
mechanesthesia that's how I thought too! XD
Muraia The Sagely xxx ppooopp000
thats why I never bothered with her, I rather beat the game the old school way.
that is the real ending, with staff roll creds and funny bloops which is better than the last 2 games ending, fuck this secret ending crap.
A magic spell though? Idk, seems kinda lazy
It allows you to earn an extra 2% that you could not get without it. For example, 1 % is obtained by beating the game while skipping and never breaking every single save barrel halfway through each stage. Some stages makes this impossible because they are blocking the way (like Rocket Rush).
Wtf? That's weird...
made me want to play.
Why the hell would Belcha need a Burrow she's a damn bucket for cryin out loud
The barn? I buy. The burrow? Not havin it
...and here I thought it only went to 103%. I didn't find the big banana bird but there were no walkthroughs back then only the nintendo power game manuals which I could not afford. I must have missed one of the little bird caves as well.
8:47 - i want that Cranky statue.
He's the guy on the surf board that transports you to different lands
Oh no, an egg shell has landed on me. My evil plans for world domination are ruined...
After all that, she drops an eggshell on him? Yup! LESSON TAUGHT AND LEARNED!!!
Never seen that title screen before at 105%....my mind just got blown away by the quality of it AND the early easter egg of the Ultra 64.

Donkey Kong Country 2 is the real hyper end best game of donkey kong.
Shut up you two! Donkey Kong 3 is.
No. VERGI I is right
I like the DK2 theme and concept a bit more, but tha game mechanics from DK3 are way batter
VERGO I So you clicked on a DKC3 vídeo just to stay that DKC2 is better?
donkey kong 3 doesn't even feel like donkey kong lol. They never mention it anymore its totally forgot about. @freakin1random I don't know if this has been mentioned before (probably), but this game was made near the SNES' life cycle. (Also, the factory world in DKC1 made for a change in scenery as well).
What a amazing grand finale of the whole entire Donkey Kong Country trilogy
All three donkey Kong country games remained at high prices even when n64 a Sony PlayStation came along this was due to them being great.
There should be some extra levels with the Gyrocopter... that would be the BEST game for all.
I never completed any of the trilogy to 100%
I did DKC2 in 102% with guides :P
***** Nope, you have to find all the bonuses to reach *101%*
***** It had.
I did 107% in DC3. In fact, I did all of them at their max using guides, of course. DC2 is certainly the hardest one!
Damn the color match trick was sooo hard to me at the time >
I feel like I remember a 110% completed that my grandfather did but I could just be crazy.
thanks for the 105% in this game
i love the gba remake because you can take the game with you anywhere and plus you get one bonus world, too bad it hasnt got the awesome graphics as the snes version
Congratulations,you won a Cranky Trophy!
And Kiddie Kong was never seen again, in any game. Like straight up, he was strong as a baby ape, I'd be willing to bet that Kiddie Kong would rival DK in raw power once he grew up, and lets be honest, Rivaling DK in brute strength is no easy feat.
Great video! You did a good job on this one sir!
You've got to sat?
DKC2 is definitely remembered more for it tenacious difficulty, but I think DKC3 does have some memorable songs, despite popular belief.
It would take much more than that to upset me, so do not worry. Perhaps the way I worded my step in was a bit razor edged, though.
@Mjj535 You could say that, but this is more of a conclusion compared to the normal ending with the full credits.
The last good donkey Kong game ever made
Thank you friend for posting this.
I have no idea. In fact, There hasn't been any real research about all the possible ranks and what triggers them. Cheatin' Chump usually results when you save after using WATER and taking those free B! coins, but maybe they changed things around for the GBA.
You have to use the TUFST code on a fresh file to obtain an extra 2% you wouldn't be able to otherwise.
you need the Gyrocopter for the Belcha's Burrow Banana Bird but for the others you can use the hovercraft and jet-ski respectively
Yeah, I'm sure that minor inconvenience of having half an eggshell draped over him for a while will cease his criminal activity forever. Dumb bird.
yeah because throwing a half broken egg on top of someone is definitely inescapable, able to banish someone, and will teach them a lesson
It was that or animate a giant banana bird pecking his flesh off untilhe turns into a skeleton by how pissed mama banana bird was and that's not supposed to be a gruesome kind of game
+Vergil Sparda they could've had the Egg blow him sky high
Why people says that to see true end, have to finish on 105%? I already finished on 103% and I saw the same "cutscene" of the 105% final...
It was 101% for DKC 1, 102% for DKC2 and 103%. I still have all three for snes and completed them
The extra 2% is just for show, really. You don't get anything special for doing it aside from a better looking spot on the ranking screen.
and how do you actually unlock those extra 2%, you haven't shown that on the video
silvino bastos There's a code you have to enter in on the file screen. It just makes the game harder. It takes away most of the DK barrels and the checkpoint barrels. You just beat the game like you would for a 103% and it gives you 105 for doing the hardest option.
silvino bastos BTW the code is TUFST
I think there were issues of Nintendo Power that mentions how to use the various codes. But it was only through trial and error one could figure out the secret behind the extra 2% that the code allows (one percentage point is given for completing all the stages while never hitting a save/checkpoint barrel).
I think you might obtain a random code when you beat the game, but I'm just hypothesizing here.
imagine the game developers from batman vengeance or final fantasy teaming up with rare for an ultimate dkc trilogy remake with even better graphics
Wow. Those cave challenges are way easier than the gameboy version. The max was 7 here. On gameboy you have to repeat 14 good lord.
Supposedly he's "already done it". He always boasts about how much he used to do with one life and all that stuff (especially in the first DKC).
Either that, or he really likes to live up to his name.
Subscribed for the awesome annotations
You have to use the 'TUFST' code when you start a new game. It makes the game harder (all save and DK barrels are removed, but you start every level with both kongs, even if you finished the last one with only 1)
That's cool. It makes the game very challenging, yet not too difficult or impossible! It's brilliant!
Dawn, i have freed all the birds, i remember they flying everywhere in the caves, but never found the cloud.
the gba music for this game is way better
K.Rool couldn't get onto TH-cam to dislike this.
Mama bird is soo lovely with her little kids.
All this effort and her punishment is to put an eggshell over King K. Rool? Okay then lol. Still a fun game and one of the best.
That cheat rating is usually associated with using the WATER code and saving. But it may be affected by that one too. HARDR, TUFST, ERASE, COLOR, MUSIC and MERRY shouldn't affect your rating. I'm not sure which version of the game you are playing but it just might be that it's a version-specific change (a very minor one if at all)
People haven't really gone and found out what all the ratings are, or tested which ones cause the Cheatin' Chump very much at all.
@MrGuilhermeOtero As explained in earlier comments, I edit the introduction as seen fit.
Oh we have the same game and version. I just used a little video editing magic to make this a bit of a nicer presentation.
