I get that this can make the tack look better but it HATE it when the nose band coils up and this is the reason it does that. It just makes putting the bridle on so much more of a hassle…
The keeping the reins in is weird. I was always told to wrap it around through the rein buckle so the reins will hang down. Also I hate figure 8ing the nosepiece as it can bend the leather and deform it a bit. I just keep it outside the bit like normal and just slide the nose band through the keepers. I know everyone is going to hate me for this but I always do the throatlatch buckled on the top hole to keep it all snug together.
Thank you!! I’m moving to a different barn and this is mandatory! My old barn just put them on hooks and it never looked good.. at all!! This may be a weird question but do you have any hacks for two point?
Top Flight Equestrian mostly finding my balance.. we’ve been asked to hold the position for a couple laps around the arena and my partner can hold it but I end up falling back..
@@kirst_ If you are falling back then it means your lower leg is too far forward. One of the exercises I like to do to help this is to stand up all the way in my stirrups at the halt. Maintaining a slight bend in my knee and having my heel down and ankle flexible. Then slowly "sink" into two-point from the standing position keeping your lower leg in the same spot as it was when you were standing. The thinking behind it is that if you can stand up in the stirrups like I mentioned then it puts your lower leg in the perfect spot and all you have to do it maintain that as you sink into two point. Work up to doing it at the walk as well. I'll try to make a video to show what I am talking about. Hope this helps!
Quick question, but does it matter if the noseband is outside or inside the bridle? (If this makes sense) I was taught to always have the noseband on the inside of the bridle (underneath/behind the bit)
Thank you for your question! I was always taught noseband around the outside the cheek pieces (opposite of how you would have it when it's on the horse) to keep everything together.
Great question! In this tutorial I leave the reins hanging up on the hook where the bridle is so they rest on the crown piece of the bridle. I hope this makes sense! Let me know if it's confusing. Thank you for commenting!
Thank you! I know this is old, but it helps alot because my instructer requires this too
Glad you found it helpful! Figure Eighting a bridle never goes out of style :)
Thx. Just commenting for the algorithm
Thank you!

I agree! I have also done it so the noseband doesn't wrap around twice. Only doing it once keeps it nice and tidy and prevents the coil.

There are so many variations! It's all about finding what works for your bridle and makes it look neat. Thank you for sharing.

I am so glad you found this helpful! Not a weird question at all. I am happy to share my tips for two-point. Where are you having trouble?

Wait, so are the reins tucked in there, too?
Yes they are. The throat latch and the noseband will go around the reins as well.
What do you do with the reins when you do this? Also this was very helpful, thank you! ❤ xx

@@TopFlightEquestrian it makes sense, thank you! 😊
