The beginning of the video where he was just sitting there and watching the screen blankly as footage of him was playing is so funny to me for some reason
No, Kevin Moore would suit more Opeth than would Jordan Rudess. ( If they had to work with a keyboardist from DT). Unless Rudess adapts his style to Opeth. I could difficulty see Opeth adapting to Rudess' style. Kevin Moore though, has more this Opeth approach in terms of the melodies, I think he could easily adapt to Opeth's style while not changing his own style so much.
I came across Opeth in 2009 when they were touring on Prog Nation with Dream Theater and they've been my favorite band every since. Cheers from Palestine!
Wow me too! In Porto, Portugal :-) 60min of Opeth (6 songs). Lots of Watershed. Almost fainted due to all the headbanging and sheer intensity. Had to get some air before Dream Theater. Cheers!
Dream Theater and Opeth where some of my favourite bands growing up, have seen Opeth three times and Dream Theater two times already here in Greece, hope to see them work together on something someday!
Mikeal has been working on film scoring and I think that is sick. I'd check that show out if I could get it in my country. I'm also glad Jordan is still fine after his mask finding problem. This was inspiring to listen to.
@@indefiniteartblock434 Fuckkkk. It was really good, I didnt get to the front sadly (I have seen them in front in the past), but I was about 6 rows of people back. Their sound guy does an awesome job and their lighting is mesmerizing.
@@swingonthespiral I bet. I went back to see video recordings of the LA concert and it just made me more sad. They had everything in that concert. Harlequin Forest, Leper Affinity... Ugh. Next time they tour in SoCal I'm going no matter what.
No a drunk Fredrik Thordendal of Meshuggah trying to describe the sound of the guitar tone they were going for in the 90s is who you gotta thank for that:)
Years ago saw Dream Theater & Opeth together. It was quite a show. Personally for me, and I commend Opeth for doing what they want to do, I was not ecstatic of the musical change away from earlier mix of death metal to the prog route. The prog sound just isn't my choice of music, although Opeth does it better than most.
@@anonymousceleb1148 I don't know, it's just that Mikael seems that kind of -no filter- guy, and has a pretty sarcastic humor that doesn't always fit this type of streamings.

He seems a bit unfriendly, but it's not the first time. He's funny, he has humour, he can be sarcastic, but I think he isn't so easy going. And it seems to be that dream theater's members have more appreciation for him than otherwise. idk, maybe I just can't understand swedes.
I love how Mikael has only a moustache when Jordan has just the goatee. They complete each other, beard wise.
Almost. They’d need a fella with some wicked lamb chops to complete the trifecta
Hair too

I feel like when he gets something to work on the internet, he gets a little surprised himself. No clue why I get this feeling from him, but I do.
We are made of the same profile picture
It’s so damn funny. You know he just absolutely hates the moment hahah
so funny lol
I know he's working on a score for a film, but I want a new Opeth album sooo much
just wait for it and enjoy the result i am happy for him , a dream most certainly. A reason for certain melodies to come back
I hope the next one will be in Swedish as well.
What film?
@@ismailgunduz5627 Netflix show called Clark. Its a very Mikaelesque score
Opeth was my last pre covid show;(March 1st). He was hilarious that night, the show was great.
I was supposed to see DT last November:(
Opeth was my last show before covid too: February 29, 2020 at Toyota Music Factory in Irving TX.
Same here! Feb 22, 2020 at the Apollo!
Me too, February 15th at the Royal Oak Music Theater
Same here. And the gig ending with ”Allting Tar Slut” makes it weird.
Just do something together, our heros.

Simply the meeting of two geniuses!!
MA: "getting old"
JR: "Yeah"😃
I love Opeth. Loved them since high school. I'm an old fart now. They'll always be my favorite
Orchid didn't come out until after I graduated from high school! Lol
My favorite guitarist in a live with my favorite keyboardist. Amazing
LOL plays an unauthorized DVD rip for the bandleader of said band. ;)
lmao i didn't even think about that

Comedian... Or genius multi-instrumentalist jazzcat!
You should really try his album Helge und Hardcore Jazz 😃
Helge rules! 👍
Fitze, Fitze, Fatze
My 16 month old daughter is OBSESSED with that Albert Hall video. She's watched it endless times and just shouts "GUIIIIIIIIIITAR!" at mikael 😂
It's a dramatic video that's also kind of like a story, and it's beautiful and has good music.
This was sooooooo cool to watch! 🤘🤘🤘thanks
Anything Mikael and Steven Wilson does. I’m in!
Kind regards from Tezoyuca Morelos México! Congratulations guys. I really love opeth's músic.
Saw Dream Theater and Opeth live over 10 years ago in Albany NY I believe. One of my favorite shows ever.
Mikael “getting old” NEVER !!!
You were on the same stage at ARTMania, Sibiu. I remember Mikael making a bit fun of DT regarding solos and arpeggios
Two masters 🤟🏻🙌🏻
LOL. That was THE most awkward interview I've seen in a while!

Oh god Mikael is getting older :(
Jordan is 17 years older than him.
I have news for you - we all are :(
NEVER !!
Mikael Akerfeldt, Jordan Rudess, Steven Wilson....= Supergroup
How awesome would be Rudess, Mikael and Arjen Lucassen (from Ayeron) working together?
We had Mikael and Arjen already (human equation) so maybe it's possible.
Gotta love the swede with the snus :)

Dream Theater y Opeth son las mejores bandas del mundo y de la historia, son unos GENIOS.
So wait a guy from Bathery did music videos for Madonna and Lady Gaga?
