Actually there were a lot of supports available in many countries Irish people travelled to on coffin ships. Australia had lodgings and offered work if plans fell through. In Canada, money was paid to get people to where their point of contact would be, sometimes paying their way from quebec to Toronto or further, and similarly in New York and American ports. Racism wasn't quite as big of an issue at that specific time, but there definitely was tensions and discrimination against catholics for decades, and if there was somehow a civil rights movement earlier in the history of the US, that would also have been brought up. But I suppose that doesn't fit the narrative, so a lot of facts are intentionally left out and forgotten.

Actually there were a lot of supports available in many countries Irish people travelled to on coffin ships.
Australia had lodgings and offered work if plans fell through. In Canada, money was paid to get people to where their point of contact would be, sometimes paying their way from quebec to Toronto or further, and similarly in New York and American ports.
Racism wasn't quite as big of an issue at that specific time, but there definitely was tensions and discrimination against catholics for decades, and if there was somehow a civil rights movement earlier in the history of the US, that would also have been brought up.
But I suppose that doesn't fit the narrative, so a lot of facts are intentionally left out and forgotten.
