The brass ring you mentioned needing leather is the ring I use, I find without the leather the ring digs into the inside of thumb, I did slightly file the lip were the string goes so I could use a more shallow hook and I find I don't need to death grip the thumb even in the higher draw weights which I find helps with getting a clean consistent loose
Good to know. I think it might be a little too big for me for shallow hook. I might try it with a bit of leather but not a high priority at the moment. Thank you for watching.
It's tricky finding a perfect one, especially when your thumb is changing shape on a weekly basis. Have a selection and pick the best one on the day. One thing i forgot to mention, is that with horn, and wood rings, if you get a small one, they can be sanded to fit. Whereas if you get a ring that is too big, gluing a piece of leather on the inside might make the fit better.
@KTBIOM yeah I have a few heavier poundage bows that I need metal ones for but I find my thumb knuckles are just very awkward to fit. If I could find a 3d printable material hard enough to work I could just print up a ton of them. They work for my 50# bow but I'm too nervous to try the heavier ones.

Yeah. I need to get a vermil at some point too. Everyone raves about them.
Thank you for this I have a number of rings but none fit well.
