I have dug in the free BLM site a couple of times. If you like to dig and be a rock hound there isn't a better place to go, not only for the fun of what you might "dig up" but for the peace and solitude that can be hard to find in this busy go, go, go world.
Any body see ' s this in june of 2020 we are open and everything is great , lots of stones lots of happy customers . Dont get skunked by going to other fee dig sites . We have everything from free digs to belt runs to high grade bucket loads, high grade belt runs , showers bathrooms and great drinking water. Bring your sunscreen , pack out your garbage and make sure your spare tire has air in it ! Come dig at spectrum in 2020 !
@@canadiangemstones7636 well thanks that helps me alot! If i found good information on google I’d use it! I know how to use the internet! If you can’t be helpful don’t bother responding!!
Thanks for sharing this video and info with us 😊. I'm encouraged to visit and explore nature's beauty and gems. What is entailed with the digging and/or exploration expedition? Thanks.
Thank you so much for the Clip, do have a Oregon sunstone necklace as well , mad it from Champaign and light red beads and so earrings as well. But Oregon is so much more that just the stones , I would like to experience the wild life as well.
Really liking your videos! Just saw them for first time tonight. Do you do any digging in Illinois or surrounding states? Something a little closer that I can get to? Probly not but thought ied ask!
Hey planning on going this year and had a couple of questions. Is it free to just pick from the ground in a designated spot of course or do I have to pay? And do I have to pay if I find any or can we just go. We plan for only one day since we are close.
Piles start at 175 bucks, also 225 dollar piles and lots of diffrent pits for digging stones, theres also an option for two people to screen piles for two days straight . Its the best deal . Call them or check their website spectrum sunstone mine
Can of gas? As long as you fill up before heading out, you should be good. It's not like it's hundreds of miles away. In fact, you can get gas in Adel. Which is only 35 miles away.
Grant's getaways are the best! Going to start looking for them all!
Good report! I met Chris Rose once in Quartzsite at the Powwow....a great guy!
nice lil outing and beautiful stones
Grant, I really love your presentations. And, it is nice that you plug the businesses and the website.
Buy these rough gems from miners & have it cut from gem cutters and get it made into beautiful jewelries. We could help you if you need assistant.

With this coronavirus I don't know, if we'll get to visit this summer with my kids.
We are open we have been busy last few weeks and social distancing is in practice . Screen stations average 10 feet apart .
very nice. I myself don't wear sunglasses when I'm rockhunting, it's easy to miss gems that way.
There are also green and blue sunstones, which are even more rare and valuable than the red and orange ones.

We're heading there this June! We can't wait to see what we find ! Any advise to offer this one rock hound wanna be?

Doesn't seem as rare when you have a conveyor full of them :/.
Sounds real good. I might just go to Oregon. Because in terms of minerals and gems, Virginia is boring AF
