I'd never considered a dedicated stropping block for the WSK (or TBT in my case), but it's a brilliant idea. True cofession time, I'm planning to use dried lumber, a table saw and router to ensure flat, true surfaces, and save my skill building for less critical tasks. Much respect for both your skills and insights.
Oh my goodness, that was hilarious...and now my shirt has coffee on it! Lol. Thanks for the compliment, I don't have a shop or anything here or a car so improvisation is key. When you get yours made please let me know cause I would love to see it!
Love this vid! Questions - drying in microwave, how long, what setting and do you flip the wood for even “cooking”? Does this reduce cracking/splitting? Thanks
I first put the wood in Ziploc then ran it on high for a minute or so at a time. The water traped in the bag was dumped each time, mostly I did it this way to make sure it didn't burn. I did flip it a bit and even though there were a few cracks, none were very big. Pretty sure if I had let it just sit out for 6 months+ there would have been more and bigger cracks.
Sweet knife if it had brown liner for me would of been it👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Thanks, it's definitely a good one!

Muito bom. Tem poucos vídeos de alguém usando essa faca. Qual o tamanho dela?
É feito por Dave Beck e tem uma lâmina de 6-3/4" e 12-7/8" OAL.
