- I had no expectations watching this, but THE 8's Dream's Come True was straight up a pleasure to watch. In this video, I share more of why I was impressed!

Quick about me:
My real name is Tad, but DonKawaii/Don was simply an IGN name I created playing FF14 online, so I kinda just rolled with it. Lol. You can call me either one. I am also a teacher, and I teach people dance. And normally, I teach my students dance through sharing my own choreography, giving people drills or exercises to build foundation and technique. and I've been dancing for 15 years mainly growing up through Hip Hop dance culture, but have also taken inspiration from other dance artforms such as ballet, jazz, and tap. And how I got into K-Pop was because the main three groups, Wonder Girls, Big Bang, and SNSD. That followed with other things hallyu like korean dramas, variety shows, and the rest is history.

Why "Dance Teacher" even though you say "Dance Mentor"?
I actually consider myself both. I am not just someone who teaches dance, but I resonate more as a mentor who is there to help, train, or advise dancers to take steps into the right direction. "Dance Teacher" is a title that just makes it easier for newer people to understand what I do.
Do you actually know or speak Korean?
Baby levels. I've studied Korean 한국어 for 1 year when I was in community college. I can read and write in Korean, but I still have trouble speaking and formulating sentences.
Have you ever worked for any K-Pop artists in terms of creating choreography, backup dancers, etc.?
Yes, but not directly or in-person. I have partaken in K-Pop choreography submission projects/demos under the direction of dancers such as Pat Cruz (Kinjaz, The Company), Larkin Poynton (Project Home), and Alo Galedo (Brotherhood, The Company).

The8 donated all the profits from this release to build a library in his hometown in China, wishing and reminding children that dreams do come true, cmiiw.

The8 was actually a b-boyer and was scouted when he was in an international competition back in China. He still does a bit for fun but his preferred style at the moment is a lot more contemporary modern dance.

Woozi is another member who occasionally choreographs but he just does it for fun on Twitter once in a while

He had a weak body so his parents made him do martial arts from a young age and then he discovered bboying. He then led a bboy group at a young age. He was scouted then went to Korea to be an idol trainee. He was the last to join the trainees before their debut.
He had a hard time because he didn't know how to speak korean (thanks to jun that he was able to cope)
He is very artistic. He dances, draws, paints, and he is a fashionista. I remember him saying that even if he's just going to the studio to practice, he still needs to look cool.
I'm very happy that he is living his life doing what he loves and is being recognized. His hard work and sacrifice paid off.
oh I almost forgot the thing he does with his fingers, I don't think if you noticed that or whatsoever but it adds playfulness to the choreo and I love it when he does that

The8 was actually the leader of a bboy group when he was a kid in China. I’m sure u can find some videos of him b-boying on some shows or competitions. I can’t wait for u to check out his contemporary dancing as well.

Love The8. Even with how synchronized SVT's performances are, this fluid but precise style always stands out to me.
Recommendation: if you haven't checked out much Astro, their choreos are really interesting and creative, and their member Rocky is an *astonishing* dancer (and a good choreographer). I think you'd really enjoy watching his solo videos.
