I noticed how you journal, clear your inbox, and check today’s objectives on your iPad and not computer. I may start doing that - once I dive into my computer it’s off the races for work. I also have started in the past few weeks cleaning my inbox - have created a separate holding folder to process them during the day rather than processing them in the Inbox. I get tons of email during the day and processing in the Inbox becomes a treadmill as new messages come in on top. I’ve also adopted your advice of objectives/goals for today within Todoist and it has helped a lot - with clarity and reduces procrastination and I feel more efficient. Thank you Carl!
Great to learn about how you approach each day. The one gap in your routine is breakfast (lack of!) You’ll fade away. My first task each morning is to put the porridge on to cook slowly. Then I can make coffee, put bird food out, check my key tasks for the day and catch up on the news headlines. It’s MY time each day and I love it.
Thanks for giving me permission not to attach my routine to a fixed daily time-block. I’ve been struggling with that, especially when I don’t sleep well and wake up later than planned. My morning routine quite often then gets bypassed because I feel I’m behind schedule and I need to jump into getting my day started. Great video!
Hi Roslyn, I struggled when I tried to keep my morning routine to a fixed time. I found impractical. Once I realised this was more about how i start the day, not about what time I start, I found my morning routine stuck.
Yes so much easier. Yes I have a fixed time on my calendar but more because I have to and just a routine in itself (a lot of kids).. more a visual thing for myself. But doesn’t matter if I do my morning routine/self-care at 6am 7am or 8am, to be honest I usually do it together with my kids before kindergarten/school.. and as long as I am ready for the day to 9am I am good 😊
Good Morning Mr Pullein. Im Big Fan of you and your tutorials. I love to learn from you. I have few online mentors, yes you are one of them. Every life coach mentioniong how very important is "how you start your day" . Im small company owner. Two life coaches and You helped me to grow up in business and life and go easly and smoothly with my business and life thru all difficulties. Its possible and even easy, its engough if people will realy want IT , follow and listen what Coach telling. With All Respect and Sympathy Thank you for your work , videos and all advices.
Thanks Carl, in each of your videos I find something valuable to add to my days. One of my favorites: The „perfect week“ - way to go there, still, but a great guidance where I want to go.
Good morning Carl, It was good to follow your video, I have a clear difference to you, I make a pot of tea early in the morning. The entry into my DayOne diary as one of the major tasks in the morning, for this year, I have a rule, text plus minimum three pictures per day. I concentrate on details like location, so it is my main public early in the day. As more as I can put it into the diary, the better is the starting point of my day. Have fun
As usual I like to take your advise. If you went back to your thirties, what would you do/what’s would you work/ what advice would you give to yourself?
I would not change anything. I came to Korea when I was 31, and it's the best decision I have made in my life (so far). Then spending the next 15 years teaching taught me how to teach, convey information and love every minute of what I do.
@@Carl_Pullein amazing. That’s really good you have no regrets and think what you have done is the best thing you could. As I’m in my thirties I would’ve liked to get an advice from you that was my main purpose of question :)
@@Abdullah-zl9ub Regrets are a waste of time. You cannot change the past. Only learn from it. What I did in my teens, twenties, and thirties was learn an incredible amount by trying and testing things out. The more experience you can get, the better your education will be.
LOL. There's no chance I could do that. My "false belief" is I don't function without coffee, and I am happy with that belief. Drinking coffee while I write my journal is part of the joy.
So in another video, several months ago you said to journal, if I understand correctly, you are saying that's not needed? So if I don't feel like I get value out of journaling, I shouldn't add it my morning routine?
No no no. I highly recommend you journal every morning. It helps to clear your head, identify worries and concerns and leaves you feeling ready for the day ahead.

I do intermittent fasting, so my eating window is between 11am and 7pm. The first meal of my day is at 11am.

Yes Carl. More videos like this please. I’m a sucker for little insights into other peoples lives.
Hahaha, will do, Mike

That's fantastic the hear, Thomas. Thank you.

That's wonderful, it's all about building a routine that works for you.
Completely agree with you Carl! The morning routine is a gift that we owe ourselves every day.
Thank you very much for this testimonial. 😊👍
Thanks, Laurent. I'd likely feel lost without my regular start to the day.
Yorkshire tea is the first drink of the day!
Ahh, that's my afternoon cuppa :-)

You're very welcome.
Better to wait 90min before drinking coffee to avoid the afternoon crash 😊

You can track your daily routine in Notes app? How?
The simplest way is to create a checklist. You can then copy/paste that each morning.
So in another video, several months ago you said to journal, if I understand correctly, you are saying that's not needed? So if I don't feel like I get value out of journaling, I shouldn't add it my morning routine?

Great video!but you shouldn’t be drinking coffee on an empty stomach☕️
Ah, maybe, but if you take coffee out of my morning routine, it would be a miserable morning. LOL
