    Damn V, that engine bay is CLEAN! That is going to look so nice when it's finished and painted. If the firewall turns out real
    clean which I am sure it will! And if you decide to do something like Brock stripes, run those stripes all the way through the
    engine compartment that would be fire! :)

    • @poplaurentiu4148
      @poplaurentiu4148 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The engine bay looks clean indeed by the end of the clip but doesn't add extra weight ? the body on this Mustang will be much heavy and way to stiff..

    • @IhateYoutube
      @IhateYoutube 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@poplaurentiu4148 you do realize the stock Mustang had inner fenders and all of that, and they were all steel as well.
      And there is no such thing as too stiff when it comes to a chassis! Stiff is the goal! A stiff chassis allows the suspension to do the work it's meant to do.

    • @poplaurentiu4148
      @poplaurentiu4148 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IhateTH-cam In my reply i was talking about body not the chassis the body will be too heavy and too stiff, for a quick example Ariel Atom has a strong tubular chassis as well but the body panels are way much lighter made from fibre-plastic and that will leave any Mustang in the dust ! ;0)

    • @IhateYoutube
      @IhateYoutube 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@poplaurentiu4148 Any huh? Hmm I can think of quite a few Mustangs that it won't leave in the dust.

  • @Hartbreak1
    @Hartbreak1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just a couple of suggestions.
    1) the top of the shock towers don’t need sheet metal on top. It already has a nice metal plate there. Can save a pound or 2 with that and also makes the shocks more accessible to work with.
    2. Make sure those metal sheets aren’t getting in the way of the wheels turning. Wheels need space to turn after all.
    3. I would wait to put any metal sheet on the side of the shock towers until any exhaust, brake, clutch and steering system components are mocked in for fit testing. Those are the systems that have the most clearance issues on the sides of the engine bay, specially with a V8.

    I’m glad you separated the fender square tube to the strut tower in 2 pieces.
    If you left it as one length of tube, in an accident that one piece tube would have possibly pierced your body.
    Sometimes too stiff a body will not absorb an impact and it will transfer it to your body at a high gforce.
    So add more “crush” parts to your front.
    Great job!

    You might consider putting the turbos where I did on mine. Down low by the starter area on each side. I've got a '65 with a Coyote and twins and that was the best location for them in my car. You do have to run a scavenge pump though, and I put a skid plate on the bottom since everything hangs low. Works well, I'm putting about 12-14 psi to it and have about 750 miles on the setup so far.
    I like the engine bay work this should turn out pretty well. I heard in the last video that you were considering seat height and those frame rails, glad to hear it! Hopefully I can be helpful, having built something sorta like this before (I'm a somewhat stock chassis, just tube work up front).

    That's cutting is REAL close if you're going to try to get a set of turbo manifolds in there, and especially a rear exit down pipe.

    Admire your energy and I can do attitude that for sure will bring you more in the future.
    Your choice of Materiale sizing looks to be able to hold much more than needed and will at the end result in a higher curb weight than needed. Building just strong enough comes with experience and for sure something you will have more of in the future.
    Well done.

    After you finish this build do you need a engineer to certify the build to get this registered for road use. In Australia this car would only be allowed for the track not public roads. Great job Vtuned.

    Brother, nice job. I think that covers you did in to the engine bay will make the engine unservisable, and you will need to take it out for the smallest jobs. One , make them removable and two check the weel turn, if your tires hits them. Keep up.

    Excellent work. I don't think you spent your teenage years playing video games and "staying in air conditioning". You and your brother's skills are really remarkable. Some how I think your Dad had something to do with his sons craft skills. I am 67 years old, and I watch you regularly. GOD bless you and your family.

    It looks really good, but God help you when it's time to change the spark plugs. It does not look like there is enough room to get a wrench in there, or even enough room to get the plugs out if you could get a socket on them.

    Loving the build but you really should start wearing safety glasses when your grinding and using the chop saw. I got a piece of metal in my eye cutting a piece of metal with a sawzall and I had to have it removed from my eye with a magnet.
