It was horrifying seeing such bright and happy animals suddenly turn pale and weak and motionless… It was terrible and horrifying. I sometimes cry when I think about them. That pain was too much for me. I’m assuming that they died from Marek’s disease because of the symptoms they were showing. It just had to be. Other reports of chickens dying from Marek’s disease would act very similar to how my chickens acted, so without a doubt, it had to have been Marek’s. Such a terrifying disease.
I have 5 hens and they’re spoiled rotten. I love them to death. I lost one to a hawk but she is a reminder that all life is mortal and precious and that they will all be able to have natural deaths.
