Thank you for a great video! Can't wait for the next one! These videos finally inspired me to go dig up a small willow and plant it in a clay pot I threw myself with a potter's wheel!

A Bonsai Zone video on a Saturday morning is better than the Saturday morning cartoons I watched as a kid.

Great work on the bonsai, especially the yucca. Made such a difference on that plant. Enjoyed the cameo appearance of the baby raccoons. They're cute. So nice that you allow wildlife to share your yard. Like the larch. Lovely tree.

Thanks for the informative videos. I've started my first bonsai, a Gala Apple tree, because of your channel. I feel like I have a head start with all of this information.

Man you disappeared~having fun with the editing. I think that single larch is one of my favorites from your collection. A simple tree and minimal planting but very rugged and dignified. Once the branches develop more extensive and matured ramification it will be a timeless bonsai.

Hi Nigel! You are so inspiring! Need to get myself couple of larch trees too! I have big redwood and it looks so cool, so maybe get several redwood trees in penjing form or Bonsai too!

Cedar forest and larch are coming up beautifully.
The amount of lichen indicates the clean healthy air around you. Lucky you.
Waiting for the update on series forest.
    Where is the giraffe? :-)

I hope to see a comprehensive overwintering video this year. It gets quite cold and windy here in Ottawa and I wonder how you meet the needs of all of your various species in terms of periods of dormancy, without losing them to extreme cold events. I don't have a greenhouse, and wonder if I can keep a cold frame on my balcony, or if it would be worth the trouble to dig out a trench. You mentioned that you might not simply leave them out this winter and the prepper in me is itching to find out what you have in mind.

    Hello Mr.
In other videos you said that some branches that you cut off your trees become cuttings, would you explain how you make cuttings root, please.
    Thank you.

I was just watching your larch progression as I've began my own collection. Some a couple that had grown quite large than chopped in nature and one that is very young and another that is about 4 ft and had been let grown. I would like to know how much light is used when winterizing trees in basement. Thanks Nigel. I always look forward to your uploads. Use a forehead camera when doing some pruning and see how that goes?

    • @denniswhite166

Hi, I have couple of questions:
So I potted my ficus religiosa in a gravel+peat+compost bonsai soil. It's rainy season here but it has not grown even an inch. No new leaves, no changes. Is the soil correct? Has the tree got dormant? Please suggest what to do

I read that Japanese are very particular about the ratio of trunk and foliage, pot and trunk diameter.
But l find it very binding, also l don't see the same in your trees.
    Any comments?

Hi Nigel, I have a small sapling of an asparagus fern that I found and dug up with the roots and the tuber it grew out of still attached to it. I've had it in a small pot on my desk for about 3 weeks now, maybe a month and it doesn't appear to have grown at all, even though it looks completely healthy otherwise. Any idea what I could be doing wrong, or what I should do better?
