As someone who lives in central iowa…I’d rather have 2-3 feet of snow instead of an ice storm. Snow can be reasoned with…and shoveled. Ice is “welp, everyone walk like a penguin now”
I'm a cdl fiver, damn Iowa is cold ! In Mason city, hey why don't yall plant some trees to cut the wind?
Ice is what we always get, sometimes with a bit of snow on top. Ugh!
In Oklahoma
🎯💃🕺
Stay safe!!!
As a lineman whos seen few ice storms, .25" of ice with wind could be terrible on the grid! Prepare and stay safe!
I respect your job you're tougher than me be safe sir happy holidays
Please stay safe! You are a God, sir!
As a damage prevention specialist utility locator, I'm glad I'm not on call for emergencies this weekend
I gonna ask God to keep ya safe.
Thank you for what you do.
💜✌️💚
Thanks Ryan MERRY CHRISTMAS
Freezing rain sucks, stay safe Iowa. Thanks Ryan.
I have family in Iowa stay safe
As some one who lives in iowa I can confirm this is true. It sucks
Thank you! 🤗
@Justmeandjesus19 Traveling theough Iowa sucks, I have stopped once in all my travels through Iowa was in 2019 broke down in Souix City, most miserable 20 hours of my life.
@@Wes-x9p Yep can you imagine living here. The summers aren’t fun. Hot + super humid +hot wind. Add tons of bugs and you’ve got a pretty good idea of how that goes lol
So Ryan i just realized why i like listening to you. You speak calmly...like youre just talking to us. Many weather people change their voice and talk very hyped up🥴. That's fine ..but i appreciate your calmness lol
I agree!!!
Same. 😊
It's French toast time. Everytime we have snow/ice in the forecast everyone goes to the store and gets milk, bread and eggs, French toast must be popular during ice storms and blizzards LOL. That is our family's long running joke here in Illinois. Great channel, I trust you more than our local weathermen. Thank you and Merry Christmas ❤❤
Same for hurricane weather.
Nothing better! 😂
Nix the French toast … Just put bread pudding in the oven … morning breakfast, bread pudding with cream.
Great idea. I make a great French toast. Tomorrow's breakfast with maple syrup from Allegheny National Forest area
@AJsWorld2021 In Pennsylvania, we buy TP as well when it snows. =3
Wow, Ryan mentioned our town Cedar Rapids! We haven’t had straight up ice to deal with for a long time. Snow can be dealt with …ice is debilitating.
I once stayed a week in Cedar Rapids through 4-H. A bunch of us went and stayed with a family there, and the next year they came to Michigan and stayed with us. I loved Iowa, very much. Now live in Texas 50 years later
When Ryan pronounces your towns name right: 😄
When you realize Ryan pronounced your towns name right: 😨
Oddly….I’ve passed through Cedar Rapids twice but I’ve stayed there twice, in my life. Both of the times I spent a few days there the city got hammered by brutal ice. Both times I had over an inch of ice caked on my truck/camper. In my psyche, Cedar Rapids is ice city. To further stir the pot: Dubuque is dope. Love that place way more than I expected. Way better than Cedar Rapids.
Listening since 40,000 followers! You are proof that putting in the work and loving what you do can be rewarding on many levels. Thanks for providing what I think is a life saving approach!
Same!❤❤❤
You have to thank the ones who invented the technology that makes predicting the weather possible. Like the ones who put satellites up in the air. This guy sits in a chair and talks. That's it.
@TapiaJ true, but it's the skill and knowledge of knowing it that not everyone grasps!!
@@TapiaJ nothing you see on the radar comes from satellite. If you're going to make a snarky comment at least be accurate. I fully disagree with you. He doesn't just sit in a chair and talk. If you don't think Ryan and his team are doing great things, why are you here? Weird take.
@@MK-nz5pe same here
I don't even watch the local channels anymore.
Ryan & and the team are my go-to! 🎉❤.
The only reason to watch local weather is to see if that bird is still nesting on the station's tower-cam.
Same, i live in Nashville and he's more accurate than our local news meteorologist's
Freezing rain. Watch out for that black ice.
That'll really beat you up if you slip up
Is it really black ice if the entire road and every other surface is covered in ice?
Normally the big deal with black is is not seeing it and suddenly finding yourself on it at higher speeds.
Either way, definitely be careful on ice.
That's racist!
Friday the 13th. What could go wrong? Snow covered drones?
Can they freeze midflight? Can't imagine a SUV sized iceball....
Does anyone have a clue what’s going on in NJ? I’m not listening to any of the conspiracy bs, there’s no “Iranian mothership” lol
But seriously what are these things??
Since it's December 13th on a Friday, it's also White Friday...which if you know WWI events, White Friday was when soldiers froze to death on a mountain due to the weather
Lmao😂😂😂
@@Dragon_Defenderoh, that’s incredibly sad!!! What a tragedy.
Happy Heavenly Birthday to my Dad 🎂🧁🎁
He would've loved your channel, Ryan!
❤
Sending love to you. ❤
Happy birthday PA
Happy birthday
@VirgoCatleesi many heavenly birthday blessings
I remember Rochester, NYs ice storm of March 1991. It was the worst natural disaster event that has ever occurred in my area. I was 15 years old when over an inch of freezing rain accumulated in my area, placing us at an ice damage index of 5 on Ryan's chart. 90% of the entire metro area lost power and about 25% were still in the dark after an entire week in the cold. School was closed for a week and many streets were impassable because of downed trees and power lines.
I remember. It was a widespread event and was horribly nasty!
I remember that here in Delaware, too. It looked like giants walked through and snapped the tree tops off. We lost power for days too. Not fun.
This has happened in Oklahoma, too. I was without power for 21 days. Fortunately lots of candles, radio, and old style gas heaters (open flame). I was a restaurant manager so had to go to work every day to monitor walk-in freezer temp. as restaurant was also out of power for a bit of time. Fun, no.
Schools being closed for a week in NY was catastrophic for 1991........
You are by far the most accurate out there. Accuweather has changed us in VT from "you'll get pounded with snow Thursday" to "it'll be mild and partly sunny" lol
I'm from New England. I agree! My Dad & brother plowed snow for years. One Halloween, an ice storm caused a major widespread power outage in my area that wasn't fully restored for months! The ice on the trees caused dead/weak trees & limbs to fall on power lines. As long as heating vents are clear to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning, a lot of snow can be quite insulating. Of course it sucks having a 600+ foot mountain of a driveway and a broken snowblower, but learning to manage the snow builds grit & character. God bless! Stay safe & warm everybody!
This channel is the best,in my humble unsolicited opinion.... been here must be 3 years at least..
Thanks, Ryan. You channels just get better and better! This is what the internet is for!!
I feel so bad for all those people living in tents from the Helena hurricane
Shame shame shame on this administration not doing more to help our CITIZENS in need! Biden is truely the WORST POTUS EVER! 😡
Bad enough to do something about it? Didn't think so.
I dont
Tents? Really? Where are the FEMA trailers?
@@nick_sometin7791 what’s wrong with you?
The best weather channel ever.
AGREED❤
Glad I checked in. I was debating whether to go to the store or not. But if I'm having icy conditions tomorrow, then I'm going today! Thank you, Ryan ❤
I know the drill well. Bread, milk, eggs, toilet paper......
Also from Central Iowa and just hunkering down for the night. Have plenty of quilts to keep warm if needed and a charged up emergency charger. Everyone stay safe.
Stay safe! My sister is in WDM. She used to live out on a farm by Marshalltown. I’m really glad she is in the city…
Hey Ryan, were a mission organization in western Michigan and your weather forecast plays an important part in our planning flights to the UP areas. Visibility and ceilings are what we watch to determine if its a go or not and icing especially this time of year, Appreciate what your doing, its making a huge differance. Thankyou from us at GCU Avation in Michigan.
Central California Sierras foothills 3000.ft elevation. Watching in gratitude for your coverage of the west.🎄☃️🦌❄️🎄☃️🦌🎄👍🙏
A positive note on the coming ice storm…it has a beauty to it despite its destruction of the trees
Thanks Ryan for all your updates. :)
Thanks!
9:24 Ryan, I am SO GLAD you have added earthquake data!!!! Thank YOU!
A white Christmas in Minnesota is looking more and more unlikely, what a shame. We had a brown Christmas last year too.
We hardly have any snow in Connecticut anymore. It has been super warm throughout the winter for the past 6 years. Sad. I miss the snow.
I was hoping for a white Christmas in Minnesota ❄️🎄🫤
Agreed, Minnesota don't get snow for crap. Nothing but flurries and people still can't drive.
I am always happy when we have a winter with no snow, like last year, I am not a snow person, at all!! While we seldom ever see snow, and if we do have it, it's one day only, but even that is too much snow for me, I guess that's why I live in SW Texas, because one day is too much and I'd rather see nothing!
Wow. We are in the U.P. and we have more than 4 feet on the ground at my house. It's wild.
Yallbot has a nice chill voice like yours. It's easy to listen to.
I live in Southern California and I'm so glad to see all the rain up north👍
My land in central Indiana is already quite soupy!
Normally, when we get wet, the ground is frozen (except for 2019-2020 when it never froze).
I’m still seeing streaks in the sky, though.
Thanks for always keeping us updated with the upcoming weather, Ryan. We truly appreciate all you and the Y'all team do.
Oh Mrs Alma. Praying things are going better for you. ❤
@pamteubner2369 thank you. Both my hubby and I are looking at surgery. He's getting total shoulder replacement surgery and mine is to fix the 2 fistulas that are connected from my bladder to my intestine.
Thank you Ryan and the Y'all squad for all Y'all do ❣️🎄☃️❄️
The sign off is my favorite. I got my sister watching you now and learning about our area when you speak on the south. But the sign off is life😂❤.
My kids' favorite part too! 😂
@@nduncan79 agreed!
@tabithamurphy5803 i mean it's so funny. Your kids have a great sense of humor😁
As a South Carolinan it’s been over 30 years since we’ve seen snow on or before Christmas. We’re still a good ways out and I’m putting it out there that I hope everything slows down a little bit so we can wake up to a blanket on the front lawn. 🤞🙏
So I guess I won't be driving back home through Iowa tomorrow. Lol Thanks for the granularity. Makes trip planning easier.
@@rhorto01 yep our weekend in Wisconsin got canceled.. driving in Iowa doesn’t sound safe or fun 🥶
@@rhorto01 I'm not leaving Missouri for Texas today either! Gonna stay put another day+
Thank you for all you do!
I'm glad I live in South Carolina mainly because even though we have a lot of cold weather, it's rare if we get snow. People living mid-state and on the coast are more likely to get snow and icy weather. We had one white Christmas, but that was 62 years ago when I was 2 years old.
Ryan, I live in East Tennessee and I need some snow ❄️❄️❄️❄️!!!
Dear Jesus bring this kid some snow🕊️
Hopefully you get your wish
Growing up we always had snow on Christmas in northern Indiana. Weather is so weird now. 😭
Merry Christmas, neighbor!
We had snow in Central Ohio from November to March… we have not even had 3 inches this year so far winter is not the same. Regardless merry Christmas.
Thank you for the updates. Merry Christmas. Bless you
I really really really hope we get that snow in the upstate of South carolina. We havnt had snow in forever 😊
And SE NC,I’m right on the border at the 501.
Same, but I'm here in the foothills in NC. We haven't had snow since January 2022.
Here comes old man winter to us in Iowa! 🧊 ❄️
Yo Y'all from the mountain on Taiwan!
Howdy Taiwan.. 😊

Hi Ryan & team. Thank you very much for your time, energy & effort during this busy month.
8minutes since its posted and over 8k views. Your name and work speaks for itself! Thank you for all you and your team do Ryan! 💗from cold Chicago! (any heavy snowfall for us this winter year? we seem to almost always dodge the heavy snow bullet! lol I may have to move to Utah or Pennsylvania ) 😁
.. it's only "odd" to us because none of us remember what was considered "just weather" when we were young, or lived very far back in history.
My first thought looking at the video thumbnail was what in the New Madrid are we about to experience in West Tennessee?
Thanks for the updates legend. Ice storms are not fun, stay safe y'all
It's RYAN HALL YA'LL! 🙌
A no-white Christmas would not upset me one bit lol.
I would honestly be happy to see a blizzard where I live though, ever since 2018, a no-white Christmas has became a reality.
All good in Erie. Much of last weeks snow is gone, and this week's wasn't bad at all. I don't expect it to last. The soil is still warm. And sorry Iowa. You could be this week's headline.
7:32, excuse me, sir? Atlanta and snow what now?????
We will see...
Thank you, from se oklahoma
Ice is no joke. Be safe out there in Iowa. We care.
Thank you for keeping us up-to-date. Good job that you and your team do is very much appreciated.
Thanks Ryan!!!
As an Atlantian, I sure hope we get a good, heavy snow this year! Especially for Christmas!!
Me too!!!! I’m from Ohio so being here in Georgia/ I miss the snow at times
Sadly, even in places like Atlanta, even light snow is once in a lifetime nowadays. If you want to see snow, but don’t want to travel really far, then Tennessee is your best bet.
@@Roblocksgaming not quite once in a lifetime but yes, I get your point! Plenty of mountain ranges not too far, where snow is far more common than once every 5 years lol. Tennessee is a pretty state, though!
@ I meant that the best place you could go to if you want to see snow if you are in states such as Georgia or Alabama, then it could be Tennessee, but I meant to say that snow is once in a lifetime down here in South GA.
@ oh yeah, South GA is definitely once in a lifetime. Might as well be FL at that point lol
Thank you Ryan Hall ❤❤❤❤
Pray for the Midwest 😭
Ice storms are the worst…cleanup is horrible. My sympathies to Iowa.
Thanks for all your updates 👍
Snow in Georgia again would be nice to see! Got too excited seeing the blue in Atlanta haha, i hope it stays true! Though thanks again for the coverage Ryan! You're the best!
Been skating on the backyard rink the past few days and it’s been fantastic. Next week’s warmth is gonna suck but thankfully it looks like the cold is coming right back!
What awesome fun!
Friday the 13th. Gosh I completely want to stay in bed with these severe negative temps in the Northwoods of WI. Suffering from a rare pain condition, it makes life that much harder with these temps. I pray everyone stays safe AND prepared of you must travel or even be outside for any reasons.
Thank God for S. Central Florida.. I lived 64 years of Lake Effect Snow and Ice Storms in the Thousand Island Region of NYS. It’s 73 degrees today - 12-14- ‘24..
I hear that! I used to live in Ohio… happy to be in Texas!
I'm in Joplin, Mo and yes, it is 🌧 Yuck. This time of year it's a cold rain and makes the day look dreary beyond belief.
Thank you as always for such quick updates!!!!
i always appreciate when you include commentary on the great lakes and Ontario…. our weather network focuses on the Greater Toronto area mostly and so your info is sooooo important! Thank you 🇨🇦🇺🇸
Love when Ryan says “skedaddles” 😆
Thank you Ryan for all the weather updates and forecasts! I live in the Ohio Valley area. Near Barboursville/Huntington. We have 60 degrees for a few days, then go to very cold and snow. Brrr 🥶 Then in the 50s soon. 😊Roller coaster weather again.😊
from myrtle beach, keep the snow up north..lol
As Chris Hall said on Twitter SanFran had its first ever tornado warning this morning so that's something to see watching this video the morning after it was posted.
I really like the extra channel, so glad you got that going.
I live in SC (the Midlands) and have been PRAYING for snow! I really hope we get it! ⛄️
Thank you for the warning on the incoming weather hazards. Really appreciate you.
Thank you, Ryan for the weather updates
Excited for some winter weather finally in eastern IA!
😆 way to stay positive. I'd understand snow, but ice? It takes all kinds.
Thank you Ryan! Much appreciated. I think Illinois got our Christmas snow yesterday, it was beautiful ❄️
southeastern snow probabilities for next weekend have tanked.
Thanks for the update. It’s so cold on the east coast. I look forward to your forecast because they are so much more accurate then the local news channel weather.
I'm in SE Iowa. We have already got 1/4" ice or more. I have several dozen 4-6" branches down. One on my house right now.
Thanks for all your work in bringing us so much info. It's a big help in knowing what we might be up against in the weather, especially for gardening. I love the extra live channel!!! More improvements! It's hard to believe more could be added! Thanks for making it free.

Seeing the thumbnail and my state Kentucky highlighted in yellow gets me excited but also sad, cause we haven’t had a decent snow in years…
As someone from Omaha, yesterday was really bad. I was trapped at work for nearly 5 hours last night. I-80 was shut down for like 3 hours during rush hour! Ice trucks were slipping and crashing. Thankfully I got to a friends last night and home this afternoon finally, but my goodness it was bad.
Central Arkansas here. Thanks man. 👍👍❤️
Me, too. ❤
Mid NJ here. We haven’t seen over a foot of snow in a while. Cautiously optimistic for this one. I moved here from Texas and haven’t seen more than 6” of snow in my life. Fingers crossed!! 🤞🤞
I live in silver creek NY on lake erie and we need a break from this snow
Wow, Snow possible in Myrtle Beach, almost unheard of, I lived there for 3 years back in the 80's, it gets really cold there in the winter. Feels even colder because you have the wind coming off the ocean.
Snow in dirty myrtle!
We’ll call me a doubting Thomas. Due to non typical weather we are supposed to have in the Ark-la-tex. Has stopped. No thunder storms, rain events, Turned cold at least that much. I pray God fixes what ever needs fixing.
Brace for disappointment, prepare to consider things often happen because circumstance dictates such. If “it gets fixed” consider doing the same for cancer, disease, homeless, people who can’t afford to feed their children, maybe that wizardry can help save some innocent human beings.
Good on you Ryan Hall for the EQ info❤❤❤❤
I hope those models stay true! I want snow in Charlotte, NC!!!
Us north Virginians are praying for snow still
I’m in middle TN bring it !!!! Gimme some winter
Anybody that says this doesn’t have to shovel snow.
thank you for using such a simple map ! it’s mush easier for me to read and keep track of while you’re speaking. and thank you for talking slow and calmly, it really helps !
