Oh thank you Linda! I try and pass on as much of my knowledge as possible! Knowledge is power after all. The fire is an old washing machine drum and it's perfect for a little fire for me! Take care Linda and I hope you have a lovely week 💚😊🌱
Hey Shelia! And thank you very much! Ooooo, don't! I have managed to move some of the beetroot videos into one of my storage drives and I have no idea where they are! I keep meaning to put some time aside to find them, but I promise I will get it out soon enough! Always appreciate the support Shelia! 🌱💚😊💚
You got more done that you credit yourself with! Looking good as ever mate. Tomorrow’s meant to be a little warmer here, hopefully it is for you too. Have a good one 🌱🌳
Hahaha! Thank you mate, it was a tricky video for some reason to shoot, but we got there! I'll tell you what, that cloud in the sky makes all the difference. It was much warmer today! And yessss! They are growing slowly! Can't believe I'm already at 800! It's crazy! Lovely to hear from you mate and have a lovely week 💚🌱😊💚
Great job Jake ohh especially in the cold 🥶. Lovely to have the fire 🔥 too, our ground where the fire is always stays cold as it doesn’t get sun at this time of year so that means my poor feet freeze 😂. I have one super dwarf apple tree and so far we have had 1 apple 🍎 it maybe this coming summer we’ll get 2. Have a super week stay warm, Ali 🥶🇨🇦
That's the same as me! My fire is in the winter shade so I stick them over the fire and just hope that they don't catch alight 😅🤣 Super dwarf! That must be small! One apple is better than none, but you want enough for at least a small apple crumble! Take care Ali! Hope you and the family are well 😊💚🌱
Great vid as always Jake you make pruning look so easy. I so need to sort my fruit trees out this year. So hope you get to 1000 subs by the new year your getting so close now. Anyway look forward to tomorrows adventure take care
Thank you Belinda! It took me a while to try and get some of the points across and because I wasn't moving much, I started to freeze down there!! Ooooo, I know right!! And you were one of the first!! I won't forget my roots 😉 Have a lovely week Belinda and stat warm! Coz it's ruddy cold out there! 🥶😊💚🌱
Hey there! Love it when someone new says hello! And thank you very much! I've planted loads of spring bulbs, so I cannot wait for the colour to burst! Just got to get through the cold winter. Lovely to hear from you and please don't be a stranger in the comments 😊💚🌱
Hi Jake, new subscriber here and I’m so glad I found your channel. I’ve just got my first ever allotment in April this year and I inherited a plot with a few trees, 2 of them are apple trees and other allotment folk said we’d got the best trees on there. However this year the apples were awful and looked bad from the moment they fruited. I think the tree needs a good prune as it was very congested so this video came at the right time. I will make that my job for this weekend. Temperatures here in Yorkshire are freezing but hey ho I’m gonna go for it. Thanks, Deb
Hey Deb! And welcome to the Pots&Petals Family! Oooo, getting your first allotment is always exciting! And even better when you've got bits and bobs already on the plot. I inherited rhubarb and some pear trees too! Now is the perfect time, especially if they have lost all their leaves now. Just don't reduce it too much as it might shock the plant after years of no pruning! 25% on a really established tree should be fine and then come Summer, I'll show you how to do some summer pruning to help maintain the shape. Were the apples just small? Or did you have some problems with the apples themselves? A northern gal! Love it! You get it much colder than us down south and we are total pansies when it comes to the cold weather! I'm glad you've enjoyed the video! Please don't be a stranger, the comments are what makes this channel 😊 Take care Deb and lovely to hear from you 😊🌱💚
You think you have problems with that cherry well I have Liquorice, (Glycyrrhiza glabra) growing in one of my beds and this year it has taking off and now I have runners growing all over that large bed, I sort of don't mind as when I dig out a lot of it I'll have a lot of root which I and a few friends will eat.(I started it off from a bit of root). Thanks for the video see you soon.
Oh really! I've heard that liquorice root tastes much better than liquorice itself. What do you do with the roots? How do you cook it down? Thanks Graham! Take care mate and I hope you have a lovely week 😊💚🌱
No I dont cook it, I just cut it up in to 6 inch long bits (after washing) and we/I just chew it and yes it is a lot better than the shop bought stuff, No sugar for a start and it's good for you.@@pots-and-petals
Jake, who is your sponsor and what is your address we can send some presents and support please..I adore you and your videos...thanks from Vesna founder of VAS transport inc.
Hey Vesna! I don't have a sponsor I'm afraid! And I don't have a business or PO Box, but I do have a BuyMeACoffee! www.buymeacoffee.com/potspetals I don't advertise it on here as it isn't something I am after, but you've asked a couple of times now, so I thought I'd set one up. Honestly, I'm not here for the money from you guys! I'm looking forward to making money from the ads, but I don't expect my subs to fork out on me, but I do appreciate those who have offered. Don't feel you need to by any means Vesna! You're subscription and comments are more than enough for me! Take care Vesna 😊💚🌱
I was able to send only 5 coffes and did not work for 10 as when I click on it was staying same without more option but thanks.. you can always ask for sponsors anyone can do it even your boss
@vesnabulatovic1176 honestly Vesna, thank you so much! It means so much but it is going on the plot, so it will sit there until I need something major! I don't expect money like that, especially in the current climate. I'm very grateful Vesna 🙏💚😊🌱
Thank you for the tips of pruning the trees. It was brilliant, jake, thank you 😊
Hey Tracy!! I'm glad you liked the video! It was a bit tricky to get some of my points across, but I'm glad you enjoyed! 😊💚🌱
