Great video. People normally don’t distinguish between granulation and color separation. Love it!

The side by side format was so helpful! And confirms that Daniel Smith makes the most stunning granulating colors 😍

I loved the cascade green swatch. I have around 70 DS watercolors but I really must get that one. It’s beautiful. Thanks for the in depth explanations of the different swatches that you presented. Very informative.

I love, love granulating and separating watercolors. I almost exclusively have DS watercolors as I am in the states and they were affordable for me. I am not disappointed in my choice.

Thank you. Very interesting. Will do a swatch myself now to re-ignite my interest in some of the colours I have.

Fun video! I have Daniel Smith potters pink in my palette. I’ve never had a difficult time rewetting it. I just wanted you to know that it is an amazing color to mix with other colors! It makes beautiful mixed granulating colors! You might want to experiment with it. I love having it in my palette! I don’t like the cobalts nearly as much as the other two rows you showed us. The green apatite genuine and undersea green are wonderful colors for leaves, greenery, and landscapes. I have them both in my palette and love them!
    Thanks for sharing with us!

thanks for sharing this video Alyona! :) i came here to just look at pretty effects from the paints but actually learned something useful towards the end. so the two Sennelier colours you mentioned Cobalt Blue PB28 and Blue Violet PV15 and their "chalky and streaky-ness"... i completely understand! i have the Sennelier Turquoise Green PG50 and i always thought something is a bit off with it but because i don't have experience with many brands/colours of watercolour, i didn't know how to describe it. but when you mentioned it in this video for both the sennelier colours, i was thinking to myself, "that's it! that's exactly how my Sennelier turquoise green behaves!" i know you like your turquoises so if you're not fond of the chalky/streakyness, i suggest don't get the Sennelier Turquoise green. also, i was actually thinking of getting that Sennelier Blue violet as a single pigment lavender/lilac colour for my palette so thank you for saving me the time and money from it. the search continues, haha! :)

How did you get the moonglow to look like that! It always looks so grey any other time I’ve seen it!

Thank you for showing this. This is really interesting. I just tried Daniel smith color dots but It doesn't show those effects much so it's good to see this.

Hi! Wonderful discussion! Amazing colors and mixes! Is Schminke Mars Black similar to Schminke's new Galaxy Black with mixes? Do you know? Thx!!

Lisa McCullough thanks! I haven’t had a chance to try any of the new granulating Limited Edition Schmincke watercolours so wouldn’t be able to comment on that. :)

@@AlyonasWatercolourCreations I hope to try Mars Black! I wanted to get up in the middle of the night and try my GB after watching your video! Galaxy Black mixes beautifully but I still want to try Mars Black, also Lunar Black! : ) Hematite granulates and mixes beautifully too! Thank you for your channel! : D

I love your watercolor Comparison videos! I’m really feeling that Schmincke perylene green I’ve been wondering about which one to go for & wasnt 100% sold on the Daniel Smith one. Have you ever tried the Winsor & Newton potters pink, I got it on Liz Steele’s recommendation & it’s a gorgeous hue that rewets beautifully! Thanks for a lovely video! 🤗💕

her billowing heart I just checked it on my W&N hand painted watercolour chart and it does look pretty, almost looks velvet, maybe bcs of the paper that it was swatched on, but still looks good!
I am starting to think I might have a bad tube of the DS Potter’s Pink - it’s probably why it is so hard to rewet if it separates from the gum arabic. Having said that I heard people had the same problem with DS Potter’s Pink, maybe bad batch. 🤗

@heirloom luxe - Oh I almost didn't recognize you bc of your name change, until Alyona addressed you as "her billowing heart". I adore your channel, so it's nice seeing you on other channels I love! Reading your recommendation on those 2 colors reinforces me to get them, you have one of the most lovely palette selections on TH-cam. It's very soft on the eyes 💜

Great video. Too bad the names were not included under each swatch.
