Y’all notice how Mario Sunshine oriented this game is? - Bowser Jr. - Transformations - Shadow Mario - Several Sunshine songs - Mechanics of Spraying Water 🤨
I noticed that the sound when you stock up on water with the elephant power-up is the EXACT same sound as when you break open a F.L.U.D.D nozzle box in Super Mario Sunshine! It's a fairly small detail but a great one!
There's a bunch of little details that show personalities of the characters during the intro cutscene, one being right before Bowser becomes a castle you can see Mario look up and realize what he's about to do before jumping too late, the small details in this game are really cute, cool and so expressive! I love it!
In the Sunbaked Dessert in the Rolling Ball Hall Level it’s actually possible to go to the left part of the level without the Wonder Flower effect, which leads to the talking flowers calling you out and I think that’s a really cool detail
You will never convince me that SMS Airstrip was in the mind of the composer of the SMBW Underground Theme composer. The stretch on that one puts Stretch Armstrong to shame.
Dare I say in terms of small details, creative touches and so forth Mario Wonder kind of really sets a new benchmark what 2D platformers can be... They were very wise making sure everyone working on the game was able to share their creative ideas and many maaany were implemented!
@@menuki95Dare to go a little further and say Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze is what set that benchmark for me. To the music, to the level design. The Wonder game is definitely up there.
I have one that I guarantee none of you know bc I’m sure you’re all good Mario gamers. If you run completely out of lives, then you will respawn at the start of the world, prince Florian will give you a 5-Up, and a secret bonus level will appear on the map. The level is very short and is filled to the brim with gold blocks and coins, and golden bill-blasters shooting coins at you. The level has an auto scroll, and when you reach the end it exits automatically. This level is of course an extra way to get your lives up after a game over. One more thing: I’ve only seen this in Pipe-Rock Plateau. I assume that it happens in other worlds as well, but it might be a different level. Also, I didn’t find this, it was my sister. I promise I’m good at the game.
Lights that reveal hidden blocks in the ghosthouse stage also reveals invisibility badge users. (which makes it tricky to get through without interrupting the singing boos)
@@sinteleon Lol I remember thinking the invisiblity badge for Light-Switch Mansion would be funny since it's a ghost level, I was then surprised with the lights. That was a really neat detail
Not a fun fact, but as a Toad lover I also do love these new Poplins. I really wish they become mainstate so we can play with them in spin-offs. Or at least secondary characters.
On that note, let's get Toad back as a playable character in the Mario Parties and have species from Odyssey and Wonder enter the fray as supporting roles.
@@themightygallium9509 I have to agree. Just imagine them winning in a Mario Kart race and blooming as their celebration from 1st place... It would be wonderful

In KnuckleFest, the last level before the final boss, you can hear those platforms do a sound while moving when you have the Wonder effect on. It‘s like another instrument in that whole music section and imo it sounds pretty cool.
If you play as peach or daisy, while gliding with a shell. They will carry it different from the bros. They will stretch out their legs and balance it on their feet. It's had to tell, but take a look for yourself!
I loved the detail of the elephant spraying the Poplin with water at the end of a stage; it's just a cute little touch that adds to the overall charm of this game. When I first saw it happen while I was playing, it made me smile.
I have a small addition to my comment from your Mario Wonder Beta video. In Outmaway Valley, the first Flower has also have 4 other lines of dialogue every time you jump over the ice blocks besides "'What's with all the ice blocks?" ; "They're kind of annoying." , "They're definitely getting in your way." , "They just keep coming..." , "What's a flower to do?" and is happy when the Outmaway is defeated "Peace at last."
Stand still and hold Y. The character you play as will change facial expression to look more determined. This might be because holding the dash button means you are about to go through a tricky section.
6:20 The blue color of these Goombas is also a callback to the original Super Mario Bros (NES) where blue Goombas can be found in its underground stages, especially 1-2
In the first Wonder Token Tumes, if you wait long enough after finishing the mini game, the talking flower will say something (I don't know if it happen in other stages)
Another cool detail about the musical Break Time stages: for those who aren’t musicians, or for those who are but just didn’t catch this, the coins that pop up at the end to the little jingle are placed accurately to where the notes of the jingle you just heard would be placed on the staff, with the Wonder Seed representing the final note.
Two things, a) you don’t have to kill the piranha plants, you can just stand on their pipe and they won’t pop out just like they normally do, and b) you can aim the eyes of the goomba transformation with the movement stick
I noticed that when Mario stands still the music is just very normal and all, but when he starts running drums and beats start kicking in. Very subtle but very cool.
I have something interesting I discovered on 1st level of world 1 Welcome to the Flower Kingdom. First, you need the extra block badge to do this. Once you have this on, look for Brick Block that will give you a flying flower into the sky. Once you're up their you'll see blocks that resemble the block badge it hit to activate a Beanstalk that will bring higher into the clouds. There is nothing to major up there, just extra coins to grab as you're running on clouds. We know pigs can't fly, but Elephant can 😅 (LOL)
There should've been a more expansive use of farm and circus animals considering the new Elephant power up. I would've enjoyed seeing sheep exchanged at night with the bulls in a wonder effect. Maybe next Wonder? They could expand this into a 3d adventure.
(SPOILERS kinda) In the level Hot Hot Hot! There is a secret cloud area higher in the stage with a purple flower, if you activate it and follow the glowing purple light back toward the start of the stage it will activate a door, if you enter the door it will be the normal level, just with the light background dark foreground effect enabled. This is referencing the sub zones in Super Mario Bros 2 activated by the red potion door
in the older titles, when you held a koopa shell and tried to slide down a slope you’d just lose the shell but now you just slide with whatever you’re holding
Invisibility badge trivia: 1) Bowser Jr and Bowser Castle have dialogue changes if you meet them while invisible. 2) Lights that reveal invisible blocks also reveal invisible characters. 3) Trap doors can't be opened while invisible for a quick kill unfortunately, but you can surprise them (they don't bite you back when you try this).
I haven't played it yet, but goombas and koopas biting your characters is pretty gruesome. That's gotta hurt. I like the piranha plant parade music. It's so cute.
In that one level where you get chased by a big spike ball (don’t remember the name), if you use the elephant power up to push a small spike ball to break a block that’s supposed to be broken by the big spike ball, talking flowers will tell you that you messed everything up. Hope that makes sense
I knew that you can freak out Goombas with water, and the dancing coins, and the ability to splash Poplins, the ability to stop Piranha Plants from singing, the music note blocks matching the music, and the animation when standing on the edge.

King Boo becoming a normal boo may be a reference to luigi's mansion 2, where one of the king boo fights is revealed to simply be many boos pretending iirc? (I havent played since I was a kid)
in deep magma bog, the 4 houses have different amounts of watering elephant cans. for example, the first one has one, the second has two, the third has three, and the final one has four

@@VK4502B I used this tactic. I waited for the fire to be at 2 o ‘clock (like clock hands) and then jumped. Take your time, I liked to pause in between jumps. Good luck
Apparently, depending on what badge you are wearing, Prince Florian has a different flower on his crown, with the variations of orange, blue, and I think yellow (I haven’t gotten a special badge yet)
There are different wall kick animations if you look closely, in the wiggler races the talking flowers will cheer on the character you are playing as and the characters will have a freak out animation when the cloud they ride is about to disappear
In literally just the session i had now, I managed to enter a stage in World 4 that was a bonus stage with a lot of coins, and it played a remix of the slider theme from Mario 64.

One cool detail I found is when you’re running and go into the ground with the drill power up the character does a little dive before getting into the ground
1:24 WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK THATS A BITING ANIMATION????
I'm not able to see anything other than a Goomba, knowing it will likely never hit mario, being proud that it did.
Because the developers say it is. Plus yes, they also get proud
You can tell which jugs have water in them by the little splash of water that comes out of the top if you jump or come to a stop from a run.

Yoshi spits out tons of neat little details, if he swallows and spits out a dry goomba, he'll spit out three spread pattern bones. If he swallows Patooie bullets he'll spit out three bursts of bullets himself and I think other players can hop off those bullets which can come in handy

I finally 100%’d the game today. My favourite 2d Mario game for sure. I totally recommend it!
Finally? The game just came out lol
@@Themacattack1209 it’s because of the last level, not gonna say anything about what’s in the level, but It’s brutal
@@JackOrSomthing I am getting humiliated at the firestick part. I can't for the life of me figure out the patterns, and it's driving me mad.
@@VK4502B I used this tactic. I waited for the fire to be at 2 o ‘clock (like clock hands) and then jumped. Take your time, I liked to pause in between jumps. Good luck
Yo
Apparently, depending on what badge you are wearing, Prince Florian has a different flower on his crown, with the variations of orange, blue, and I think yellow (I haven’t gotten a special badge yet)
I wonder if there’s DLC we could see levels from the mushroom kingdom?
There are different wall kick animations if you look closely, in the wiggler races the talking flowers will cheer on the character you are playing as and the characters will have a freak out animation when the cloud they ride is about to disappear
There are 3 different wall kick animations, they loop after the third, they play based on how many wall jumps youve done without hitting the ground
Yoo i don't have the game but it looks ASOME!
"Details you MISSED!!!!"
*showcases lots of details the player actually is meant to experience and shown beforehand*
I accidentally found that loading screen quirk. I did if before every level, it sure worked
One thing I don’t like about the game is that it’s too short
goombas always bit Mario according to an interview way back
In literally just the session i had now, I managed to enter a stage in World 4 that was a bonus stage with a lot of coins, and it played a remix of the slider theme from Mario 64.
Oh fun fact, if you wear the invisibility badge and confront Bowser Jr., his dialogue will change.
The Ground pound sound effect actually sounds a lot like Kirby’s Epic Yarn “Yarn ball toss”
the boxes have the texture of a peanut relating to the elephant theme
U should do all Mario wonder bosses ranked including the wonder effect ones, the airship one and bowser jr and bowser
Another one is that if you hold y without moving, your character will get in a ready’d up stance
I literally 100% the entire game in 4 days, the game is AWESOME, the best mario game in years since smo and smg1/2
Whats smg1/2
@@ddlcfan2763 super mario galaxy 1 and 2
Thanks for sharing my little secret I discovered, though I find it funny how above my name it says Zelda TOTK Locations😄
The Spring feet jump sound is the same sound as fuzzys jumping in Paper Mario
If you use the invisibility badge in a boss fight the bosses will actually comment on it
