The cosmic clone mechanic, where the clones actually copy what your character do, didn't really originate in Super Mario 3D Land.
In Super Mario Galaxy 2, this mechanic was the effect of a cosmic prankster comet in the galaxy. It substitutes the races that you talked about from Galaxy 1.

I'll say it again: again: The Spring feet badge jump sound effect is the same as a jumping fuzzy in Paper Mario. Also I have 2 more Standee facts. If you try to place a standee after getting the wonder seed in ko arenas, the sound and the animation will appear, but the Standee won't place. If you place a standee in a bowser jr fight, and bowser jr touches it, the Standee will dissappear.
Its just because they own some stock sound effects
You just made me remember how hard it was to catch that one shell-stealer fuzzy without sneaking, but I did it once.
A void that can kill you has a black, dark tint to it, but if it is a void you can jump into, it has no tint. Nice little detail I noticed
Here's some WONDERful information any flower that says you can stay and rest (such as the one in dolphin kick Challenge 1 and Valley full of snootles) will have special dialogue if you stay for a bit (for example the one in Valley full of snootles says something about one-ups)
Use princess peach in the final boss fight, it’s worth it😊
I'm pretty sure the piece of music that's torturing you is the version of the theme from the "That's my Merlee!" segment of Super Paper Mario. It's the part where Mimi transforms into Merlee and you do a gameshow segment to figure out which one is real.
Another cool detail is that while in jet run, you can make a standee in the air!
A cool detail is if you stand an the yellow or blue zip pads, it makes a cool noise in your controller, like the music blocks
In the credits scene, if you don't let your character move for enough time, it will start clapping to the beat
In all of the stages with wonder effect, If you activate the Wonder effect then the coins will start to dance to the beat of the music which is a great attention to detail. This includes all coins which are the yellow coins, 10 coins, purple coins, and purple bits. But however if the wonder effect isn’t active then the coins won’t dance and will just continue spinning which is their default animation.
The fact that Kamek shoots portals, that make an airship spawn from nowhere is a clear reference to the world 3-boss level from mario galaxy 2.
The Final Test Wonder Events can be mostly cheesed with the drill powerup.
First part with the birds, get on the front and crouch.
Second part goes as normal.
Part with the choppers you can dig into the ceiling (same with the anglefish).
Sproings you can burrow into the ground.
Sugar stars you can burrow into the moving blocks, they move to your command but the stars don’t hurt you.
Finally there’s the final part with the roller koopas you sort of have to wing it but it’s not so bad since you can get past the other parts with ease.

The talking flowers apply to any one, not just the music rooms, just idling near them will have a random assortment of sound effects
Cosmics following you *actually* comes from galaxy 2
not sure if this has been mentioned, but i’m pretty sure you can kill shadow mario with (50? i think) fireballs. maybe you can also kill him with like 50 trunk swings or something too?
Edit 2: when you slide down a slope and jump with the floating jump badge, there a special animation for it
EDIT 3: on the final-final test, if you fall in a pit i there seems to be some sort of splashing affect? like ur character is falling into some liquid? not sure if it happens in ALL the sections, maybe just a few

3:20 I’m absolutely convinced I’ve heard that voiceline from a different flower, can’t recall which… maybe it’s a thing several of them share!
Also, it was actually galaxy 2 that originated the idea of cosmic clones copying your every move! 3D land just followed its example
the voicline also appears in jump jump jump 🙂
Im pretty sure all flowers can say that voice line along with a couple more lines if you idle by them long enough
In the level "The Midway Trial, Hop to It!" if you wear the invisibility badge and try to kill the master hoppycat (the one that jumps insanely high with sparkles) at the beginning of the level, the hoppycat won't notice you at first but when you try to kill it, it will hop away. Intresting to see what nintendo does to prevent glitches.
For the Mario Bros 3 Bonus music it's in Mario Oddyssey minigame rooms
in the rhythm levels (the ninji ones), your character says “1,2,3” on their first jumps of the levels. this also works with the badge!
6:51 sounds like the baseline for Super Mario Bros 2 for some reason, that’s the only thing that comes in my head.

One of the Wonder Flower Themes has a small callback to the Yoshis Island Atheltic Theme in the theme song. The earliest i found was the first pole block climbing level
At 6:50 the music you are thinking about may be found on the Mario Wiki under "Spinning Slots" since they are similar arrangements. One that stuck out was "Your Answers, Please!" from Paper Mario: Sticker Star.
There's a secret area in Welcome to the Flower Kingdom! if you use the Add ! Blocks badge. I actually just found out about this one today.
All the flowers will say something if you stand around them doing nothing long enough
The fast railings have sounds that come out form controller and joy cons
During the credits if you stand still your character will start clapping to the beat, I didn’t know this because the credits was actually really fun so I wasn’t standing still at all lol

The Cosmic Mario mimicing your actions is actually from SMG2
One detail i like is how the characters try to ballance when they are on a slippery slope. Its very cute

P.S.: I think it was one of the N64 Mario Party games. That, and I have another discovery, being that the Hoppycat Wonder Effect gives the four playable Yoshis orange spikes instead of white spikes.
I believe the music you're thinking of is the music that plays in Super Mario Galaxy 2 when you enter a pipe, and it takes you to an area where you encounter The Chimp. It plays up until after you talk to him and initiate the minigame. It also plays on Starship Mario when you go through the pipe and it takes you to the 2 Lumas, which you can talk to and give them coins for dice to roll for lives. I know because I stocked up on 70+ before taking on The Perfect Run, but I only used 20

In the level piranha plants on parade, near the end of the level, theres a talking flower hanging on the ceiling above music notes. And if you hit him, he'll get annoyed and ask you to stop. Im not sure if anyone has commented this, but its very funny. Then if you trigger the wonder event, and take the warp pipe to the secret exit, the same wonder flower will ask"how did you get over there?"
This dialog is from a flower in the fluff puff peaks level where it snows if you stay next to the talking flower for long enough it will say that the one that is in the snow if you activate the wonder effect. 3:19
The talking flower idle dialogue will play for every talking flower aslong as your close you usually just gotta wait 5 minutes or so
Remember when a lot of people had a theory that Price Florian, was Prince Haru from the Mario Bros animated series?, well if you listen to his voice clips after you die, it kinda sounds like Florian is saying "Haru"
That’s really cool, I thought of it as him saying sort of like ‘the horror’, like the horror of getting a game over or seeing Castle Bowser getting stronger

I don't know if people noticed this little nuance but if you slide backwards down a slope, the character looks backwards as well
wonder details: the image flashing on the knucklefest level after the wonder effect is acutally the red ghosts from luigi's mansion dark moon. Other detail is that the noises the ground makes at the secret part of special world's map has the smb2 ground music if you go around the ground counter-clockwise.
6:30 I believe I found the song you’re looking for as a modern rendition for the SMB3 roulette song. It’s in both Sticker Star and Color Splash as part of the Snifit or Whiff It quiz stages. In Sticker Star it’s called “Let the Challenge Begin!” And in Color Splash it’s “Your Answers, Please!” You can verify but I think this is right.
Edit: After looking more into the Paper Mario soundtracks, I found one more. This one’s a stretch since it’s just the bass line mimicking it, but it could also be “And the Question Is… (That’s My Merlee)” from Super Paper Mario. (Wow, crazy how all 3 games had a quiz portion that all include this theme in some way. I also looked at Origami King and couldn’t find any)
I’m the Petal Isles for after World 1, in the level Downpour Uproar to get the 3rd 10 purple coin you go in a tube on wall and in the tube there is a heart made of coins and
2 urchins and 2 cheep cheeps. That is a call back to New Super Mario Bros Wii in the level 4-3 where you had to guy in a tube as mini Mario and there was also a heart made of coins and 2 urchins. I guess they adopted some Cheep Cheeps!

You can actually kill cosmic Mario with fire balls but it will take a little while to do so
I hope you haven't covered this cuz I forgot the past vids but in the level pull turn burn a flower asks you what you are doing in a place like that and if you die in the pit next to the first flower coin he says we'll then.
I think the music you are referring to 6:57 is from Dr Mario. Specifically when you complete a stage and let the music play out before moving on to the next level.
I know you were probably thinking of That's My Merlee, but I found out that the Snifit or Whiffit theme from Sticker Star faintly plays the SMB3 theme in its bass

This game has a ton of really neat animation details that I really enjoy!
For instance, if you do a Crouch Jump, and let go during the jump, you'll get a unique falling animation!
In a similar vein to that, you can get a slightly different Wall Jump animation depending on what direction you're holding. (At least I think that's how it's done, it could also be whether you flick the stick when wall jumping, or some other thing like that; point is, there's more than one wall jump animation)
It's the kind of stuff they didn't _need_ to add, but it makes the experience so much more dynamic!
I like that Luigi and Daisy, the two canonically together, have such small details to create contrast.

for what i saw in a video (didn't test it to see if works), in the level light-switch mansion (or the ko arena of fungi mines, or any other level that has the light things) there is a little secret that if you go to the lights that would normally kill boos and reveal invisible blocks using the invisiblity badge "reveals" your character, turning it visible while you are there on the light
Heres a fact! You can actually kill cosmo mario... (it takes 50 fireballs)

i have one: on the music break time stages, the notes at the end of the stage plays the song if you play them.
The sound off badge description says "hear strange noises?" Which might relate to not being familiarized with most of your noises being changed to human voices
Hitting a turtle shell up in the air enough times in a row will turn it into coins.

only secret i see which may be valid is in the quiz where you have to pull the right (insert the name of that enemy that can be pulled to be defeated) to progress, the colors of those enemies are the same colors that the viruses have in the dr.mario games
