Anyone who doesn’t understand what its like to be an addict will never understand that every second of everyday you’re constantly battling your own brain. Keep telling this story! We need more success stories instead of the constant negative news.

This is amazing. Been drinking my pain away for 16yrs now and everyday I tell myself I won’t the next day but there I go again and again. Struggle is real.
You are correct. People who aren’t addicted do not understand it’s in your mind constantly. It is hard. Sad but true for us who have this trouble/ disease . Glad to always hear when someone can over come it one day at a time.
Just recently passed six months of being sober from alcohol myself, so this story hit home with me. Praying for your continued sobriety, Maxx!

I just picked up three years in recovery. Ive been a Raiders fan my entire life, and having Maxx on this team, sharing his story, being who he is, has inspired me since day one. 12th step miracles my dude. One day at a time.
Maxx is one of my favorite athletes. I can relate to him so much. Same age, from the same area of Texas, and battled my own demons. Hearing Darren Waller and his journey with sobriety helped me get through my own addiction. Mad props Maxx! Also sparring the middleweight champ is pretty tuff too!
This honestly hits on a different level and I have nothing but respect and gratitude for him. Going public with his story to help others with their mental battles is awesome and I'll 100% be using this as motivation. Thank you sir
For real as someone who battles addiction is always helps to look at someone who has become successful at what they do after they get sober

I don't think there have been a lot of doubters after Crosby played his first professional game. He is that good. But it's good to have that voice to say that someone is doubting you so you still have that fire to keep getting better.

I'm struggling so hard fighting m addiction to alcohol at the moment... I lost my job , my relationship , my home... and that just makes it harder to quit . I'm in AA and therapy as of this week to see if it helps me because I do want to stop. Hearing Crosbys story gives me so much hope and encourages to change my mindset the way this man has ! I don't know how he does it but I hope to achieve that mentality and strength one day
Hey Jesse I promise ya u CAN get all u lost back in time but it’s gonna take work !!!! It’s never too late (don’t mean to preach) but it’s true. 83 days sober for me. Coincidentally I'm also a Raider fan. This story is inspiring in many ways. Triangle tattoo symbol represents his sobriety. It stands for recovery, service and unity. I might get it too. My hat off to you Mr Crosby

Crosby is a beast. As a lifelong Charger fan I can still give this man his props. I too have 3.5 years clean and sober after 20 years of using hard drugs. Keep it up killer 💯

Never knew what it’s like to be an addict but having a close friend won’t say their name be in a dark hole and find their way back while having their back was a total blessing of bouncing back. Mad Maxx is a true inspiration for people not only battling on the field but battling and overcoming demons. Definitely applaud him for that.

As a chiefs fan, Crosby looks like the devil on the football field. In uniform, he’s the only Raider that looks like an actual pirate 😂, but instant respect for this man. He’s a beast on the field to. It’s crazy how many of the NFL guys are the coolest, you can hang with anytime type people.

Im over two years sober alcohol was my first addiction then pain killers. Just got hired for a job i want to make my carrer. As time goes on it gets easier. Build positive habits, structure gain self awareness and recondition the mind thats key. Remain grateful everyday!! Im never going back to that life i was living
