    I'm really picky about my underwear and PACT underwear is really great. I've had mine for several years and they are still like new.

      Thanks so good to hear! Thank you for letting us know :) I bought some of their leggings secondhand recently and like them, so glad that their underwear is good quality too!

    Also I'm glad you mentioned Parade not being perfect in their ethics, on Good on You they're rated 'good' even though their labour rating is 'it's a start.' not all sustainable clothing is exactly alike!

    I've had my set of underwear for three years and they are still holding up. I've known about Knickey for a while now and can't wait to try them when I need new underwear! Also love that they have a recycling program!

      Yesss! I have underwear that's at least 6 years old lolol, and it's starting to near the end of its life, but it still works! And I also love that they have this program too :)

    Thank you for making this video Lily!! I'm with you on buying clothes secondhand when possible, but drawing the line at underwear. I don't have to buy new underwear right now, but I'll need this video in the future when that time comes. As always, really appreciate how informational and in-depth you are when discussing these topics :)

      Thank you for your sweet comment, Anna! I'm really glad you found it helpful, since I tried my best to do a brief analysis of each brand's sustainability/ethics. Really appreciate you!

    the true about all undies, more use more comfortable they become. strech cotton ones just need a new stich at the side fit as new

    from the brands you mention (which you do in a very pleasantly objective way!),
    I have the Organic Basics tencel undies: I can recommend them! I also have the cotton briefs: they also super comfy and soft (not as soft as the tencel ones of course.). Then I also tried their cheeky briefs and a bodysuit, which are made out of recycled polyester (or plastic, I don't remember), but I personally can't recommend these because they ride up unpleasantly (the material is very soft, too soft maybe, also in the crotch area :/).
    And, I also like to have my underwear longer than a year, for sure! :)

    • @imperfectidealist
      @imperfectidealist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ohh, thank you for sharing your experience with us! I also am always hesitant about synthetic undies, even if they're recycled. They don't sound super breathable :/

    • @LuuGolinski
      @LuuGolinski 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@imperfectidealist Yeah, I guess that could be another issue. I forgot to mention breathability, but I indeed find that the cotton and tencel ones have better breathability, and not only by this brand

      @@imperfectidealist Thank you !! I'm not that skilled in figuring out how sustainable brands really are, but since I commented that, I tried to do some research and they seem to be quite a new brand, but their factories are really near to their headquarters & as far as I could tell, pretty amazing :)

    I've bought underwear from pact and I was happy with it. I bought a bra from Body and really wasn't impressed, and I found it got stretched/worn out quickly. I think I'm going to order from Knickey next!

      Really helpful to know! I got some Pact leggings from Mercari recently and liked them, but I haven't tried their undies. I'm sorry to hear about the Boody bra - I like their briefs so far, but we'll see about longevity!

      @imperfectidealist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Mendi! I'm actually using super old products currently haha, but I will definitely consider it once I learn more about sustainable hair/skincare :) I have some shampoo bars I'm planning to try after my regular shampoo runs out. Sunscreen is definitely tricky and I need to look into it more!

    A big concern I've seen from other people about parade is about if they are truly sustainable with how much they produce and release (patterns, colors, styles) like is it encouraging over consumption with all the collections and releases?

  • @PetterHughes
    @PetterHughes 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I always thought we had to replace our underwear every year but I'm glad you explained that we don't! Also does Boody underwear show panty lines?

  • @abolishdrake
    @abolishdrake 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The only thing I don't like about Parade is that they operate like a fast fashion brand: there's always new releases of something and they're always having a sale. Also I've purchased a few of their underwear and while they do feel great, they tore very easily around the mesh part.

      @@maryannlim9336 I've heard some people complain about that but so far it hasn't happened with mine! I use gentler cool or warm cycles and hang dry them though so maybe they do best that way.

    Is organic basis tencel underwear better or boody bamboo better?

    • @LuuGolinski
      @LuuGolinski 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      i guess it could depend on how the wood/bamboo is harvested and processed, if you mean what is more sustainable.
      I haven't tried each of these so I can't say which one is nicer in quality.

    Hi wonder what you think of Boody full brief since you said you like them: is the gusset wide enough? is the fabric thick enough yet breathable? does the leg part elastic to hold ? I have those concerns as narrow gusset, very thin fabric and no elastic around legs all contribute to the undies quickly climbs into the crack of the butt as you move around. I found many new ones, even some organic cottons ones, have problems I mentioned. :(

    • @imperfectidealist
      @imperfectidealist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The gusset was wide enough for me! I also dislike thin guessets and fabric, but the Boody full brief is super sturdy fabric, and the leg holes are secure. These are some of the reasons I prefer the actual product from Boody over Organic Basics and Knickey. Hope that helps!

    If you are truly for the environment, how could you possibly recommend mailing in old underwear back to the manufacturer?
