    These small types of machines have been game changers for the trade and they are getting cheaper also due to lots of competition. Great review.

      Amazing how much ground you can cover in an hour with one of these. Awesome bit of kit. 😀

    Brilliant . I’m on the cusp of buying and Outback over in Ireland. And I think being an old guy of 64 now. That the pivoting deck and hydrostatic and traction control is what I’ll go for. Thanks for that brilliant demonstration.

    Great video. I have the Billy Goat bc2600hm with the fixed deck that I use to clear and maintain my property here in Oklahoma. It's one of my best investments yet. The job It's done has increased my property value far more than than what I ever paid for it.

    In Australia I can hire this machine for $125, pick up Saturday at 4 pm return Monday before 9 am. I go through a few tanks and get about 10 hours of use. It’s a beast and a bargain. Here they retail for about $4500.

    D.R. field and brush mowers are another American company that produce these machines. If the area is large enough these beasts put ordinary hand held brush cutters out to grass, if you'll pardon the pun.

    This would come handy for the Italian that has bought a house on a 2.400m² property here in the village. He lets the grass and the weeds grow over his knees and then calls around who will come to save him (of course, for little money). The only problem is that I doubt he would manage to operate such a bulky machine; he’s only forty, but he’s more versed in dressing white shirts (unbuttoned down his chest), tight showy pants and wearing sunglasses even when it’s dark outside, while ventilating his arms and proclaiming he belongs to a lineage of Roman Princes. It seems that even dumps have Princes to rule, in Rome.

  • @rusrad74
    @rusrad74 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Quite impressive, how well does it chop up the tall stuff that lays down?
    Like does it leave behind many long strands on the horizontal?

    • @TheFullyChargedGardener
      @TheFullyChargedGardener  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends on how fast you go and the material you are cutting. It sometimes takes a couple of passes it mulch some material. But for a simple single blade design, it does a fantastic job.

    • @rusrad74
      @rusrad74 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheFullyChargedGardener Ok great thx for that.
      I wonder then If you have heard of or come across 'Kavli Blades'? Because I think these could be a perfect marriage made for a machine like this.
      The blades basically have a turned down end to help slice material that has already laid down, check out John Kavli - youtube

    Great review. One criticism: in the last part of the video, going over the details-- many of which were on he far side away from the camera-- makes no sense. Next time, move the camera man or turn the machine around! Same could be said for the controls: turn the handlebars towards the camera! Thank you.

    I have a small John Deere 2025R and was considering getting a brush hog to run off the PTO for it, however this looks so much better for getting into tight spaces than backing a compact tractor. What would be your choice for a 4 acre property? Tractor mounted brush hog or one of these? Also are these Australian made being an 'outback'? Love your work Andy cheers from down under.

    • @TheFullyChargedGardener
      @TheFullyChargedGardener  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I guess it all depends if you don’t mind walking. As you say, this machine will definitely be more agile, so will get into those awkward tight spaces. It has plenty of power.
      The Billy Goat machines are made in the USA.
      Thank you for watching and for the kind comment, much appreciated.

      I use one in Australia, mine says made in the USA! It’s a beast and costs about $4500. It’s almost impossible to bog. It says it can do one acre per hour.

    • @TheFullyChargedGardener
      @TheFullyChargedGardener  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This machine actually handles stones pretty well. I have encountered quite a few - where we are is an area called the Cotswolds, the ground here is littered with stones. We actually call the soil here Cotswold brash, because it has that much stone in it.
      Thank you for watching.

      This machine smashes house bricks . I had one and they are built very tough. Can chop 6 inch branches with ease. The blade never needed sharpening . You have to hang onto them when using them
