    Here are the 5 times a year that you can guarantee Las Vegas will be insane
    1. Super Bowl
    2. Opening Weekend of March Madness
    3. Memorial Day Weekend
    4. Labor Day Weekend
    5. New Year's Eve
    Every single year these 5 times are absolutely nuts. You can also bet that this is when flights and rooms will also be the most expensive.
    Aside from these 5 times above, there are also quite a few big conventions in Las Vegas every single year. This link (www.vegasmeansb...) lists all of the conventions taking place, so you will be able to see if any big ones are taking place, which may cause room rates to be higher than normal.
    Lastly, even if you're not familiar with the conventions, you can commonly get an idea if an event is happening in town based on the prices of flights and rooms for the dates you're looking to book. If rates are high and it's not during one of the 5 times of year I mentioned before or during a big convention, then there is likely some other big event, such as a big boxing or ufc fight, or NASCAR is in town, or a rodeo, etc.
    If you're someone who likes to come to Vegas when prices are cheaper, during the week is generally your best bet (as long as there is no big convention taking place). Lastly, the cheapest time of year to do a Vegas vacation is during the holidays, particularly around Christmas time. This is when you will likely find the best prices of the year to come visit Las Vegas.

    The first time I went to Vegas several years ago was in December. Best time to go IMO. Not too crowded, not too hot, cheap hotels and great holiday theme and decorations everywhere. We also went to Death Valley a couple hours away and it was a pleasant 65-70 degrees F.

    The other option is get the SDX at the airport and ask for the closest transit centre so you can buy the 15 day pass full fare $34 includes all the strip and residential buses. The shuttle buses to certain hotels just take too long especially when you're tired from your plane trip.

    I've started being accustomed to going to vegas in the winter time. you can get a sexy upgraded room at the wynn, MGM, etc for a very affordable price. If you call the the wynn and ask if they have any "packages" around the holidays, you can have a very sexy get-away. the casinos are beautifully decorated, the casinos are slow, and therefore you get outstanding service, and the price you pay in the winter is the same as a standard room in the summer.

    Once again, when I have a Vegas Holiday planned, I spend my nights on YT with current Vegas videos. Or mostly current - like Vegas, I like evolution. So, if the video shows the STARDUST or advertises CHER, then it's time to check the filters. This night, 60 some-odd days away from my planned stay, I found this awesome dude. Only had a chance to watch 4-5 of his videos (SO FAR) and am I already a fan. HE IS SPOT-ON with this one in particular. I recommend watching his vids and listening to his advice. Cheers!

      Alan Perry Thank you big time for the support Alan! I plan on doing this for quite some time and seriously growing this channel, as well as my other one (JacobsAdultPlayground). There's so many different things I can talk about in Vegas that the number of ideas almost get overwhelming! I've got more videos coming in the future. Within the next two weeks or so I'll release a video about an event I went to out here for the first time. New things are on the way. Thanks again Alan!

      Thank you for your response, Jacob. I’ve since watched more of your videos and I must say from someone who has obsessed over and studied everything I can about the town and history since 1985, that I love your perspective and your clean, nonjudgmental and fresh point of view. I wouldn’t advocate for someone if I didn’t truly believe they understood the town, the strip and the off-strip mentality like you do.
      I have already shared one of your videos on my Facebook page and plan on sharing more. Once again, I consider myself a true Vegas Lover that gives out a ton of advice - from the G-rated adventurer to the risqué traveler - and I wouldn’t promote someone who just covers the same old information or doesn’t have the passion of the town.
      I absolutely wish you the best and want you to succeed in this industry. I will continue to support and follow your page. (Also, I look forward to seeing the events you mention and checking out your other page’s videos.)

    Jacob have you thought of the tip for visitors staying 10 days plus to get a hold of the 15 day pass at the transit centre. My tip catch the 108 bus at the airport pay $2 one way and go straight to the bonneville transit centre buy it there. Then get the deuce that takes you straight south down the strip all the way to Mandalay bay.

    We came to vegas on Thanksgiving years ago without reserving a room. Big mistake! Took us a long time to find something. This was before the internet. All restaurants were reserved too. We finally ended up eating burritos and staying at a motel. It had red velvet walls, lol. We found it very crowded but, I'm sure you're right, it's not the worst time to go.

    Sometimes the week leading up to Super Bowl weekend is inexpensive. I stayed in a hotel room Sun to Thru for $18/night. The price for same room on Super bowl weekend Fri, Sat,Sun was over $200/night. Stay away from Vegas during the CES convention, mid January, as the hotel prices are as much as 10 times normal.

    Very informative video!! I am coming for Halloween this year. Halloween falls on a friday this year. Is Halloween a busy time in Vegas?

    • @JacobslifeinVegas
      @JacobslifeinVegas  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Andruw Destiny Not as much as people usually think it would be. I thought 4th of July and Halloween would be big events out here, but they generally don't have much of an impact. However, since it is on a Friday this year, it probably will bring more people to town than usual. Ironically enough, it was the same thing with 4th of July this year; since it fell on a Friday, it became a three day weekend for a lot of people, which means more people come to town than a regular weekend.

    Jacob, we're going to be in Vegas 3 nights beginning October. Two buddies staying at the Venetian, with say "intended budget" of $1000/day, each, on top of hotel, etc. I've enjoyed your videos and thought I would ask you what YOU would have done for 3 days/nights on that budget limitation in Vegas? By the way, we're about 40, but look and act 30, if u know what I mean.

    • @JacobslifeinVegas
      @JacobslifeinVegas  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      LouisXIII73 With that kind of budget you guys have many options open to you. If you've each got about $1,000 a day to spend you can hit shows, clubs, nice dinners, thrill rides, just about anything. If you want to go out at night you could get a nice steak dinner, get a bottle service booth at a nightclub, and even have money leftover to do an after hours spot or a strip club....If I came to Vegas with that kind of money, I'd probably go on a massive food binge lol. Every meal would probably be a buffet or steakhouse-steak, ribs, rack of lamb, etc. We have so much good food that that's what I would probably do.

      I look forwards to visiting. I live near Chicago Illinois. Back in Sept of 1999 I had a stop over in Los Vegas flying back to Chicago from San Diego.....and the plane stopped in Los Vegas for about 30 minutes or so. The stop over was at night time so the only thing I remember is seeing the colorful lit up buildings at night time from the airport. There was lines of slot machines in the terminal like probably 15 slot machines or so and I played a slot machines and I lost $10 bucks. I probably had $5 in change and won money and then lost $10 something like that my memory is blurry on it being over 15 years ago. And I went to the airport gift shop and bought a tiny bottle that said Los Vegas with a penny in it but it broke some time later. But this summer when I was in downtown Chicago at Navy Pier I bought a tiny bottle with a penny in it that says Chicago that is exactly like the one I had that use to say Los Vegas. My brother in laws whole family lives by Los Vegas.

    Hi Jacob,I am planning a trip to Vegas for July 4th. Is that a very busy time? What pool parties do you recommend?

    • @JacobslifeinVegas
      @JacobslifeinVegas  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Marchay Grays July 4th is a little busier than usual, but it's not a huge holiday. The one exception is if it falls on a Friday, then people will treat it like a 3 day weekend. Any big pool party should do they trick-they're all going to be a big party environment, so it's kind of hard to really go wrong with a pool party in Vegas lol

    • @tfptravel.food.peace.3788
      @tfptravel.food.peace.3788 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. What about staying on strip vs. Off strip? Is it really worth it to stay off strip to save on resort fees (I refuse to pay it.lol) buut I am considering Treasure Island a bit. Thanks for replying

    • @JacobslifeinVegas
      @JacobslifeinVegas  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're welcome. Staying on strip is definitely more convenient. If you go off strip then there are shuttle buses that run back on forth during certain hours. You can do that or take Uber/Lyft to get around. If you're going to go back and forth a fair amount then it might just be worth it to stay on strip for the convenience factor. Some of the cheaper hotels are usually like Flamingo, Tropicana, Circus Circus, Stratosphere, Excalibur. I prefer to stay on the center of the strip so you're relatively close to a lot of different activities

    • @davidchastang3895
      @davidchastang3895 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Marchay Grays you might also want to consider staying off the strip. I was working in Vegas a lot before I moved here, when I first started coming I would always stay on the strip. I did this because my company was paying for the room. As I looked to book rooms I noticed rates for busy times and weekends were much cheaper in Henderson, the Westside or Northwest areas of Vegas, sometimes less than half of what a strip room cost. Depending upon where you are from, no area of Vegas is that far from the strip. You could rent a car, stay further out and save a lot of money.

    • @JacobslifeinVegas
      @JacobslifeinVegas  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      During the week will definitely be cheaper (minus any big event taking place) than the weekend. You could get a deal by reserving way ahead, but you can also get a deal last minute, so I probably wouldn't stress over it too much.

      +j4zmine If location is a major factor, then you may want to look at staying more towards the center of strip-something like Caesars, Flamingo, Harrahs, Cromwell, Bally's, Bellagio, etc.

    Me & hubby are going in Dec -week before Xmas-in time for his bday.Any freebies for bday celebrant? I know Todai buffet gives discount if you dine on your bday... We LOVE buffets & have tried ALL the strip buffets. Any suggestion for downtown restaurants? We've tried G Nugget buffet & it sucks! Any GOOD non buffet restaurants in the strip & downtown area? Any tips for getting an upgrade on hotel rooms in the strip-aside from the $20 sandwich trick? Thanks:)

      @JacobslifeinVegas  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jelo Cee You're husband's birthday nicely coincides with probably the least expensive week of the year to come to Vegas. Good timing! As far as birthday freebies, there are the usual IHOP, Denny's, Starbucks, Hooters (hehe), which usually require you to sign up for their program/mailing list beforehand. However, Grimaldi's inside the Palazzo gives a free pizza pie and Yoli's Brazilian Steakhouse gives a free birthday cake...a downtown restaurant that is very popular, but often gets overshadowed by the strip, is Hugo's Cellar inside of The Four Queens Hotel. It's noted for it's ambiance, and they give each lady a rose before being sat for dinner...Vegas is a huge gratuity town, so tipping for a room upgrade does help. But you may be able to get an upgrade just by asking since there are two (well, actually three) things in your favor-the first is it's truly the slowest time of year, so just asking may get the job done. The second is it will be the holiday season, so people may be in a more "cheery/giving" mood. Third, I would mention at check in that it's your husband's birthday, and they may even be nice enough to upgrade you since it's slow season and want to spread some holiday cheer. Thanks for commenting!

      +raza shamsi PSSST: Secret! The cheap places to stay are downtown.The Boyd's properties don't charge a resort fee or the 4Q.$30-$50 a night. The MSS has a FREE refer in all of their rooms. The strip prices are triple of that.Rent a car and stay off-strip.Harrah's has free parking as others do.

    Very informative video . Do you think labor day weekend everything is very crowded from the check in at the hotel to the restaurants and such? i've been in Las Vegas a couple of times in "regular seasons" (end of August and mid September ) and have a great time. This time i´ve booked from 3rd to 7th of september but dindn't realize it is Labor day weekend. i'm traveling with my girlfriend and two friends and as this is their first time in Las Vegas, it would't be nice to have to wait for everything, make space to get through and queueing for everything. so is Labor day weekend bearable or should i consider changing dates for our holiday?
    Thaks beforehand

    • @JacobslifeinVegas
      @JacobslifeinVegas  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jay. Labor day weekend is pretty crazy because of the 3 day weekend. It is also crazy because it's the last big bang for the college crowd before they go back to school. There will be a lot of young people in town partying at the pool parties and nightclubs. If it doesn't sound like something you want to put up with then you may be able to find cheaper rates in September and October. I actually think those are some of our best months for weather and is a great time to be out here

    • @jaynava
      @jaynava 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @JacobslifeinVegas

      Rob DreamCasher Perez There's no harm in trying it. If you're coming on a huge weekend in Vegas, like this fight weekend between Mayweather and Pacquio, then probably not because the demand is so high for rooms that the availability is really limited. If you coming during a "normal" time of year, then give it a shot

    I get comped rooms in July/August/September but I ignore them all! Recycled!March/April and October is the good stuff. Been there during the REALLY hot months and I said"never again" for a reason!Drink 5 bottled waters and 3 beers and pee once? Fat people die here. Go in spring or fall. I ain't fat ,but it can be very uncomfortable.Sure,all the stores and casinos and hotel rooms have air conditioning,but you have to go outside sometimes.The A/C will dry you out,also.There is a 4 block long walk on the strip that you can do ALL indoors. Jacob knows. Do your looking B-4 you plan. If there is a convention in town that's over 50,000 participants,you may have trouble finding a table or a bar that is not 4 deep in people. The hotel/casino rates are higher,then. Just look B-4 you leap. Dave in Seattle.

    • @JacobslifeinVegas
      @JacobslifeinVegas  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +ddd228 I think the fall is the best time to be out here in terms of weather, followed by the spring. The summer heat can be rough, but I don't think I hate it as much as a lot of people. You're right that checking the convention calendar is a smart way to go. If you come out during a big convention then you can expect flights and room rates to be higher, as well as more crowding just about anywhere you go along the strip.

    • @ddd228
      @ddd228 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +JacobslifeinVegas.............. As long as I can get to a table or a bar,I am happy.Let's make a vacation to a foreign country as pleasant as possible without the crowds and unbearable heat.Choose wisely. A line up at the buffet or the bathroom is NOT good for me.Weekend days are always more crowded that mid-week. I was there during a Broadcasters convention and it was INSANE! 165,000 extra people in 'Vegas. The table minimums were raised due to the crowd IF you could find a gaming table with an empty seat. I usually stay downtown and I just couldn't believe the cubic yards of bodies in the FSE and the casinos.$3 BJ tables were impossible.The flow of bodies inside The Fremont was a log jam.Taking 6" steps to get to the bar to BUY a beer was too much,Jacob. I may have anxiety in crowds.I had to get outta there!Dave in Seattle.

    • @JacobslifeinVegas
      @JacobslifeinVegas  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear ya lol. I generally prefer to be out on weeknights for that exact reason. In that situation you would have to go off strip to some local spot to get away from a crowd of that size!

    How much should you give the performers on Fermont Street?

    • @JacobslifeinVegas
      @JacobslifeinVegas  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      $1-2 for a picture is pretty standard. Maybe more if you do a big group photo or if you end up interacting with them for awhile. $1-5 is pretty common for people doing performances (drummers, dancers, magic tricks, etc)

    • @JacobslifeinVegas

    • @JacobslifeinVegas
      @JacobslifeinVegas  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      EDC is a big event, but the madness takes place out at the Motor Speedway, not on the strip. Plus it's a much younger crowd, so it's very different from businessmen here for a conference taking clients out do dinner or doing some gambling, etc. You're definitely right that it is EDC is huge!
