Hey I want you to know you’re not alone and I resonate with you. I’ll be starting my journey next month once my lease is up I really can relate to the mental bondage you felt living in this American system. I’m tired of paying thousands in rent when I barely have time to enjoy it because I’m working to pay for a place I’m not at it’s ridiculous. I don’t have friends, just getting out of a toxic relationship, and I’m the black sheep of my family. There’s nothing holding me back really. I want to live a traveler lifestyle... if I want to sleep in my car cool... if I want luxury lodging I can do that too but to sign another lease and be stuck in depression is a no go for me. I felt mentally trapped. It feels as if I’m living to pay bills. I can’t wait to pay my last rent in Oct. & never look back until God says. I want to work to LIVE. Not live to WORK! This is good work you are doing on this channel, it helps me to feel less alone and to look at this change as a positive transition for myself. Much love and be safe ❤️ I’ll be buying items from your Amazon shop for sure!
Thank you so much for this comment! The main reason this channel was started was because I knew others could relate to my story and it really motivates me to receive comments like this. I’m excited for your journey and wish you the best. Thank you for the support.
Hi to both of you. I share the same thought as you two and i m a guy. I only have to work 10 to 15 hours part time for food every month lol. that more than enough for food. I be getting a minivan after i sell my truck.
@Real Talk With Serenity Love Hey 💕Honestly the journey was very tough and even more isolating. There are so many little things that you don’t think about before moving to your car that is a hassle when you finally make the decision. I feel like I was just as depressed honestly.. sorry don’t mean to burst your bubble just keeping it real. Maybe if I had more space I would’ve been happier but I did grow a lot and have a different outlook on life. I also was able to help out other people in need more often since I was constantly in my car driving around with materials people needed. That was blessing in it! Hope this somewhat helps. Everything is not always as it seems. There are pros and cons of every lifestyle.
I also refuse to pay rent for a house/ apartment/ room which always meant I was unhappy because I couldn’t travel, I didn’t have enough energy to learn other languages, to write stories, to make videos, to hike, and now I can do all this and it feels so great! I even was in a clinic because of depression before I gave up apartment life and started car life. I’ve been mentally healthy for 2,5 years which I have lived in my car now. It’s because I’m outside as soon as I open my door and stand up. It’s because I see new areas each day. Thank you for being there ❤️👍
That's wonderful! I'm really happy to know your depression has gotten better. I was never clinically diagnosed with depression, but I really feel I suffered with the disease. Unfortunately, I work a lot at the moment, so I'm not at a point where I can wake up and go outside to enjoy nature or hike, but I'm getting there. I wake up and go to work, but at least I'm saving money for my future and paying off my debt much faster than when I had to pay rent. I hope things continue to get better for you :)
@@simmpleenough you should have some free hours each week 😳it’s not good for you to work all around the clock and never relax and enjoy ❤️I hope you will have some free time soon 🍀🧘♀️

Thank you for sharing your story. I have been living in my SUV since May 2020 and it is freeing sometimes trying especially during the pandemic but I make do. I can relate work sleep eat and repeat for years I've been doing this and my family always joke about me using my apartment as storage. Thinking back all the money I could've saved makes me nauseous. I cant even entertain the thought of another aprtment/townhouse for rent and neighbors! 🙄 This way get to work wherever I want without burning gas on travel assignments I can just stay where I am instead of traveling home (I'm in healthcare). New subbie!!
Exactly! It makes me nauseous too, thinking about all of the wasted time money. I’m halfway done paying off my credit card, thanks to car life! I would not be able to say that if I was still paying rent and utilities. Car Life seems very convenient for your line of work (my mom is a nurse, too..high five ✋🏾😊). I’m so happy it’s working out for you! Thank you for subbing.
Asalaam sis, I wish I did this sooner, I’m older and swimming in student loans and debts. Changing my circumstances and getting out of debt. I see our goals are in alignment. New subbie here.
Wa alaikum as salaam. You can do it, sis. My goal of debt freedom seemed so far when I first started my journey, but once I hunkered down and made a plan, it began to really feel possible. Just stick to your plan. You'll achieve your goals ❤️.
Thank you for sharing your story. I love your calmness, positivity, explanations - just love it. I literally just binged through all your videos in one sitting haha. Am so shocked by how similar your past and your dreams are literally so identical to mine - minimalism, escaping the capitalist trap, saving, a homestead (well smallholding in the UK). I just bought my car this week and looking to move into it full time after this Covid-19 situation has calmed down. Am so excited to see your journey. Stay safe and wish you all the best. Greetings from the UK - will definately be watching and rooting for you on the sidelines.

I really wanna thank you for blessing us with your channel. I got COVID last year and fell behind on bills and rent that I was already struggling to pay. Fast forward to April 2022 I was evicted from my apartment. and lost my job in the same month. I lived with a friend for 2 months and I didn't wanna risk her getting put out so I left as if I was moving into my new place but I don't even have a place. I've spent these past few months living in my Jeep. I feel alot more at peace. I'm still continuing to pay back the debt I'm in but it's not as bad because my Jeep suits me just fine. You gave me courage. Thank you. ✨
I’m so happy you find my videos helpful. One of the reasons I enjoy sharing my journey is to let others know they’re not alone. The car life community is much larger than I ever expected it to be. There are SO many of us living in our vehicles for a variety of reasons. You are not alone and I hope you don’t feel bad about yourself for living in your car and doing what you have to do to put yourself in a better financial position. Best of luck to you.
You are such a brave woman I admire your commitment to changing your life. I am exactly at that point and considering giving up my apartment to live in my car for a few months until I can save money to buy a sprinter van. I am stuck and trying to figure my way out of it. Simple life simple living simply works.
I hope you’re able to do it. Once you live in your car, whatever you paid for rent and utilities, just pay that to yourself until you have enough for a van. This decision has made my financial situation so much better. Thank you very much for the nice comment 😊

We all have to change our priorites. Wanting less means needing less. You can keep yourself for what is important to you. Being homeless is not having any shelter. Nomad's have shelter and it is better to be inside than no help or shelter at all. I believe people are starting to think like you.
I completely agree. I don’t feel homeless at all. I’m very comfortable and happy in my little car home. It’s been over a year since I moved into my car and I don’t regret my decision the tiniest bit. I think more people are starting to think this way, as well. Thank you for the comment 😊.
You’re the cutest…..never lose that smile! Just started watching and will continue. We have an adult daughter living in a small apartment above our garage. She is working and I hope is saving. Left her man she was with and I always believe in giving our grown children (and their children) a safe place to land. Have you ever had any scary experiences. My husband used to drive truck and he had a bunch of stories. Also a gun! (Never used)
I just stumbled across your channel and was drawn in by your warm, calm, easy going spirit. It would be great if you could share how you make your green bean dish. Some of the meals I eat are vegan and I am always looking for new ideas.
Thank you very much 😊. The green bean dish sounds kind of weird, but I like it. I just heat up some crumbled Beyond meat with taco seasoning and water (just like cooking regular taco meat), then I add frozen green beans and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. That’s it!
Really?! What’s holding you back? I see myself spending the majority of the rest of my days being semi-retired. I’ll probably work a couple days a week on my business and be free the rest of the week. There’s so many things I want to spend my life doing besides working. This might be naive of me, but I feel like I could have all of the free time in the world and never get bored! I want to learn how to sew, garden, paint, I want to travel, I want to spend time with my loved one doing nothing, just existing. I look forward to my semi-retired life 😊. Good luck to you.
May Allah give you all your heart desires. I travelled through Spain and Morocco in my car with a tent box and it was amazing. My wife passed away recently, but I’ve stored away some amazing memories in my head. I’m struggling at the moment I invested in my wifes country (Morocco) and without her I’m really struggling with their legal system regards my property, but they say God tries those He loves so I can’t complain. Anyway I hope you get all you need and maybe forgive me for being cheeky, a couple of divine little children.
That's a tough situation. You have the right mindset; God tries those He loves. We will be tried with loss in goods or lives...but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere. InshaAllah, you'll be granted ease soon.
Yea, I can no longer justify paying rent. Now, I’m able to save all of that money every month to put towards owning land and an RV. That’s a much better use of my money! I appreciate your comments 🙂.
When you get your homestead will you be renting out spaces? My husband and I have a shed/tiny house and are trying to find a place where we could put it. With like minded people.
First of all, isn’t it great to find a spouse who’s into the same things as you?!! Not everyone is okay with living in a tiny home/shed, so I think it’s awesome that you’re both into this lifestyle. I used to think I’d be single forever because I never met anyone who cared about minimalism and homesteading as much as me. I’m so grateful 😊❤️. To answer your question, at the moment, he and I have no intention of renting out space on our land. We’ve discussed this topic before and maybe we’ll change our minds (I’ll make a video about it if we do), but for now it’s not in our plans. I hope you both are able to find what you’re looking for 😊.
About 5 or 6 days. The jug is 2.5 gallons and I try to drink 1/2 gallon of water a day. Sometimes it lasts longer if I drink water from my job, while I’m at work. I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😊
You are so right you are an inspiration for us all we must always take care of our mental health.Mental illness is on the rise these days.Thank you for reminder stay safe sis.
For those of you that say you’ll never pay rent again…what’s the alternative? For those that want to try this lifestyle, should they save first if currently in an apartment? How do begin process of pairing down your stuff or do you put it in storage? How do you bath/shower/use toilet on a daily basis when working full time? Should I start looking for a remote job? Thanks
Hello! For me, the alternative is saving my money for the next several years in hopes of buying land, in cash. Then, my partner and I will live on the land in this van, or a tent, or yurt, while we build our home without taking out any loans. I naturally don't like owning a lot of things, so it wasn't hard to downsize, since I didn't have too much to begin with. I didn't own a couch or much furniture in my apartment...only a bed and dinner table. I have a small 5x5 storage unit that holds my washer, dryer, books, and kitchen appliances. I shower in the gym or take bird baths in my van. Remote jobs are very helpful in this lifestyle, but you can live this way with a regular job. I have never worked remotely while living in my vehicle. I worked full time and drove to work everyday. Gig jobs, like door dash and instacart are good options, as well.
Oh, and saving money before moving into your vehicle is helpful, but if you already have a way of making money when you move into your vehicle, then it's not absolutely necessary. Most of the saving will happen when you're no longer paying rent.
@@simmpleenough thank you so much for replying to all my questions! Lol. I’m in a unique situation…was in an accident last year(fire) lost all but my car(05) and cell phone. Spent 22’ recovering and then went back to a low stress job to get re-acclimated to working with an injury. Now I’m finding myself job hopping because Covid has changed my idea of how we work as a society. I don’t want to waste my time working somewhere that I hate just to get a check. I just don’t want to work “just anywhere”…I’m looking for a job that aligns with my values and passions and strengths and I spent a long time in a job that was not. Been staying with a family member who keeps threatening me to leave but due to my salary I don’t seem to make enough to even get an apartment tour. I got offered an opportunity to go back to the industry I left which pays more but is more stressful but I’m considering this lifestyle to save. I’d prefer a van to my Cruiser but I honestly don’t want to drop upwards of $3000 just to get into a lease for a place that is not really worth what I’m asked to pay. The cycle you spoke about in another video is real and it can be soul crushing. If I worked for a year, long enough to save to get a bigger vehicle maybe I could make plans to get out there as a nomad but it would take time or I’d need to start car dwelling as soon as I start the job which might be a bit tricky. If there was a way to car dwell but have a dedicated place to bath and use toilet I think it could work. Maybe even short term housing somewhere after putting my clothes in storage…but like you I want something more than just eating sleeping and working….
Questions, what was the day like when u was like this is it I'm going to leave most of my things and live in my car to save for my future I'm at my breaking point and my mom and sister think I'm crazy I live in and own a 4 bedroom and 2 bath house to live in my toyota corolla 2020

This might be naive of me, but I feel like I could have all of the free time in the world and never get bored! I want to learn how to sew, garden, paint, I want to travel, I want to spend time with my loved one doing nothing, just existing. I look forward to my semi-retired life 😊. Good luck to you.
I agree, simple living is best. Love your videos.
Thank you!
Just found your Chanel what an amazing person you are much love from the uk xxx
Thank you very much 😊
I'm loving your videos.
Well said. Informative and wise.
Thank you!
May all things come to so
Thank you very much ❤️
Well said...
Thank you ☺️
I love this, some of the same reasons I no longer will pay rent. Keep these videos coming
Yea, I can no longer justify paying rent. Now, I’m able to save all of that money every month to put towards owning land and an RV. That’s a much better use of my money! I appreciate your comments 🙂.
Thanks so much for sharing your story! I absolutely love it!
Thank you! I’m happy you enjoyed it.
@@simmpleenough You're very welcome!
I love your channel, you have inspired me to take a leap of faith. Just subscribed😊
Thank you 😊
When you get your homestead will you be renting out spaces?
Yesssss! It did take time, but he is definitely on board now. Thanks for the response and I wish ya'll joy and peace.
How long does it take for you to use up a full container of water? And thank you for sharing your lifestyle!:)
About 5 or 6 days. The jug is 2.5 gallons and I try to drink 1/2 gallon of water a day. Sometimes it lasts longer if I drink water from my job, while I’m at work. I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Hello sis you are so beautiful stay strong and take care of yourself.May God bless you stay connected to God always.

What kinda of stove do you use? Also do you have to use propane? thanks
I have a Coleman gas stove. It used butane.
Salam sister,
Whoever believes in Allah he guides their heart.
Allah guided our hearts towards these life choices.
I should have arranged for my husband to come to the U.S
That sounds tough. I hope you’re able to get him here soon ♥️.
@@simmpleenough assalamualaikum thank you sister hamdAllah

Questions, what was the day like when u was like this is it I'm going to leave most of my things and live in my car to save for my future
I'm at my breaking point and my mom and sister think I'm crazy I live in and own a 4 bedroom and 2 bath house to live in my toyota corolla 2020
It was a stressful day. I remember getting a letter from my apartment complex stating the rent would be increased, again. That was it for me.
May Allah bless you sister❤
Thanks for sharing your life. Sometimes you have to do whats best for situations we find our selves in. At least you have a car which I’m sure your great full for, just keep living each day the best that you can. Things will get better for you. Continue to be positive and keep moving forward. What country are you in. I noticed the video from Netflix was in Spanish.
I appreciate your kind words 😊. I’m very grateful for my car and I’m feeling much more positive these days. I live in America, I just watch most things on Netflix in Spanish so I don’t forget the language. It helps me practice. Thank you for the comment!
Buy your own land in your name only!!!!
Your cute and got it going on.
Not a herd follower welcome. Scary but fun enjoy go travel have fun I Did
Thank you!
You know it is written in Al quran, life is many lies, life is a game and many pretend, dont get deceived! Be yourself, even prophet Muhammad so famous through out century, he only lived with two clothes, one that he was wearing, the other was in drying! He could get rich if He wanted to, all the kings at that times were bowing under him, but he didnt do it....instead prophet Muhammad decided to remind people with good deeds....no materialism intake, only giving....peace to human kind!
I completely agree. Thank you for the reminder.
Listen in 2024, thinking about doing this to get out of debt. I hate my job and social life right now. I just want move out of America
It might not hurt to give it a try. This lifestyle helped so much with paying my debt faster.
You dress really modestly. Are you Muslim?
Yes 🙂
Thank you. ✨
You too are inspiring. Hope you’re continuing to do well and get back on your feet.
@@Ms.Delphine1204 Wow thank you so much. Yes I've definitely gotten on my feet. I moved back in with my mom in January and am still paying off debt. It's the best decision I've made in a while.
