    I finally did it!! Thank you for all of the kind words. I hope my journey inspires you to keep working towards your goals. Even though I'm debt free, I'm still living in my car. I plan to continue living in my car to save money for a little while and eventually purchase land with Moosa. I'll share everything on here, so stay tuned. I'll also share "Day in The Life of Living in My Car" videos. Thank you for your support and patience with my inconsistent uploading schedule.

    Couldn’t find work in Oklahoma because I was a felon watched a TH-cam channel where this young lady stayed in her car finally I did gave up my apt 04/29/2019 started off in Denver and eventually settling in OREGON one of the best decisions I ever made

    • @simmpleenough
      @simmpleenough  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m so happy things worked out for you! It sucks how society expects felons to get jobs, but many decent paying jobs discriminate against felons. Then, society gets mad when that person repeats the cycle (not making excuses, just saying). I’ve heard many stories about that happening and it has softened my heart to the struggles those individuals deal with. I’m glad you were able to find a way to improve your life 🙂. Car Life is so beneficial. Best of luck to you! I would LOVE to live in the woods of Oregon, but I hate the cold!

    • @simmpleenough
      @simmpleenough  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No. He never worked for the 8 years we were together. Not one job. He never gave me one penny...literally, not one penny for 8 years. He was smart and was always working on a new business, but he was always too scared to launch the business, so he'd quit each business as soon as it was ready to launch, then start a new business, and he continued that cycle over and over. I funded all of his endeavors. He was a bum and I allowed him to use me. Never again.

    I used my stimulus to pay off debt. Staying in your car until your completely debt free is a good idea. I was making $7 an hour 9 years ago and my family wanted me to get my own apartment. Car life is better.

    Congrats! Being debt free feels so good! I had an internal struggle with the "debt is good & use other people's money to win" mindsets for a hot second too. Debt does have its place, but real peace is knowing what you own is yours, and not having to dish your money out monthly for bad mistakes in the past or for a bunch of stuff you don't need or use. Enjoy the peace!

    • @simmpleenough
      @simmpleenough  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree! I understand how debt can be useful, but I prefer peace of mind from not having to deal with it, lol. Debt stresses me out! Stress affects me more than others, so I work really hard to eliminate it from my life, if I’m able. Thank you for the kind words 😊.

    Nice! I’m doing the same thing right now. I decided to move into a skoolie and just sell the car once I paid it down enough. That cut my debt down much faster. Honestly paying rent feels just as bad as spending money on debt to me.

    without having to say it to you, you know you are one of those rare smart ones. 3 decades in Finance and Accounting here and yes, we know what we are saying when we say it. Debt-free, living under your means, save save save and #1 task is to figure out your accommodation. Even if you do not want to ever buy a house, a piece of land matters. MCD is not in the business of foods, they are in the real estate business. That, alone, should tell us Americans what it truly means to "make it" here. So proud to hear you say these things and frankly, so glad you didn't listen to the "you have to use other people's money to build wealth" --> I don't deny that "some" people do make it doing it that way. But 99% do not. Alternatively, the people who live "below" their means, save up and then own properties .. 100% of them make it. This is coming from an older person but you already know that. Do you my friend. You got that smart head on your shoulders, listen to you. We are behind you 100%.

    The reason why she was in debt in the first place is because she was young and dumb. Before you borrow money, you must have a way to pay it back and have some extra money left for everything else. You have to add up how much money you have and how much you can afford to pay every month. If you can not pay it all back, do not borrow the money. A lot of people go to
    college by going into the military. The Air Force and the Navy are the safest militaries. I went into the military and went to 3 Colleges. I graduated from 2 of them
    and I do not owe anything. The government payed everything. I retired from a civil service job, I bought 2 houses, and got a family.

      Baby Boomer? Your story is so common for those in that demographic. I’m an army brat, so I know all about military options. Luckily, there are more options these days. I’m grateful my parents joined the military to have a better life, and I’m extremely grateful I chose a different route & still achieved debt freedom. Congrats, if your 2 houses and all have of your vehicles are completely paid off! Being debt free with a nearly perfect credit score is amazing, isn’t it 😊?!

    Greetings Monique, you and I feel the same way about debt. People always tell me to use other people's money to get rich BUT it's still debt and they don't feel that, I DO!
    I really despise debt. I am currently debt free including my mortgage. I paid it off last year and the feeling is AMAZING! I have saved a great emergency fund and I love knowing I don't owe any longer for my car, credit cards, student loans etc...
    I LOVE your videos, your calm demeanor, please keep them coming.

    • @simmpleenough

      Thank you for your concern 😊. Moosa & my ex are from 2 completely different galaxies! My ex was an easily angered bum and I ignored all of the signs. Marriage didn’t save me, or my money, with him. A perpetually broke man can never pay you back (he’s still broke).
      My relationship with my ex taught me that, in the future, I should choose a man who displays good character, has good character references from people who know him, & who is already financially stable. Moosa consistently checks off everything on the list! I don’t hide my money from Moosa because he doesn’t need my money, thank goodness 🙌🏾!! He has never asked me for a penny & I’ve never given him one. All he does is support me in whatever way I need and I’m so grateful to have him as a partner and friend.
      I genuinely appreciate your advice & hope you don’t take my response the wrong way. I just like to clarify with people what a good person Moosa is 🙂. A complete 180 from my ex.

    Other than your car or food have you should not any bills, if you invest in anything make sure you take your dad or ask him. I want you to know to always handle your own money, your signature. If a man wants to handle your money make sure he's your husband and he had or asking you what kind of house could he buy you or what house can you both buy together😎. Two signatures. Ask your parents they will agree. Learn from that other guy who had you pay what he pushed you to get. You could do bad by yourself. We are so happy for you. I hope you get a little apartment you deserve it.

    Just found your channel and I am inspired! Good for you paying off all your debts. I also wish there wasn't a stigma around living with your family in this country. I'm thinking about just moving into my car because there are so many things I want to do - pay off debt and see the world, mainly.
    New subbie :-)

      Moving into my car was one of the best decisions I've made. Many people might try to talk you out of it because there's a huge stigma around that, too, but do what's best for you. I say at least try it out on the weekends to see if it's for you. Thank you for subscribing!

    You don't seem like the type of person to get into credit card debt so I am definitely about to go check out your older videos. People think I'm crazy but all my credit cards are overpaid. If I swipe for $50 I pay $100 if I don't already have a credit balance. I don't use credit cards in the traditional way.

    The only debt I have is my mortgage . Sometimes I do wish I bought a small house but well that’s how it is. I had a lot is student loan too and I really think it’s ridiculous that we have to pay so much to get an education. Thank goodness I was able to get a good career but I had thought that it is normal to have debt . Now I pay more than the minimum on my mortgage every month automatically. It’s hard to really be debt free and you should be proud of yourself. Congrats ! 🎉

      That is advice more of us need to hear! I grew up always hearing "opposites attract" or "find someone who is your opposite so the relationship can have balance". I'm sure there's some truth to that, but life has taught me that I need someone who is almost exactly like me! It really works out better for me. No need to argue about money, living in a city vs living in a rural area, long term goals, what we like to do for fun, etc... My ex and I differed on all of these topics and it was so stressful. I'm now with someone who has the same views as me regarding almost every aspect in life. We're so similar that when we do disagree on something, it rarely becomes a big deal. I'm so grateful. Thank you, Mary, and God bless ❤️.

    Hi, i have a question, how do you go about prayer? How do you maintain the five prayers while living in a car? I’m thinking about doing it to save money and travel, but don’t want to mis my prayers or do them incorrectly.

    • @simmpleenough
      @simmpleenough  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Asalaamu alaikum! I work 11.5 hours a day, so I do most of my prayers at work. When I’m in my car, I do them in the drivers seat. I was told it is acceptable to pray in my car because in my situation (living in my car in an urban city) it is not ideal for me to pray outside. I try to be stealth & go unnoticed while living in my car. Moosa has more Islamic knowledge than me, so I’ll ask him to answer your question as well 🙂.

    • @simmpleenough
      @simmpleenough  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Marhabaan! Moosa here!
      On a goat, or in a moat. In a tree, or beneath the sea. Through a cloud, or within a crowd. Five daily salawaat...two of them silent and the last three aloud! ...lol.
      Alhamdulillah, for the Rahmah! If salah while standing poses a (real) risk, then she does so sitting. The risk here is drawing undesired attention from wierdo creepy types. Which makes Salah while sitting acceptable, so long as that risk is present.
      Alayhi salaatu was salaam said: "If you can't pray standing, pray sitting. If you can't pray sitting, pray laying..."
      And Al-Aleem knows best!
      I hope that you'll experience that wonderful balance between travel, Salah, and financial freedom when the time is right for you, inshaAllah!

      Wow, so they made 17/hr and were able to save & pay for their home in cash, to avoid debt?! If so, that’s awesome and smart! I agree, 17/hour is not a bad income, depending on where you live. If I didn’t have the debt stressing me out, I would have been content with that income. I’ve never had the desire to be rich, only to be debt free and make enough money to live.
