For everyone who is on this journey, I pray for you. My heart goes out to you. And for anyone who in some way resonates with this conversation, thank you for being here. And to all of us- when we know better, we MUST do better 🦋💕

Conceiving, walking the pregnancy journey and carrying the child to term is God's grace.
Lets learn and practise being KIND you never know what battle someone is fighting.
Being childless doesn't make a woman less of a person. We all absolutely matter.
To all the waiting mothers praying for a child may God remember you and bless your womb with a child. Have faith at His own perfect time, he makes all things beautiful. ❤❤
Thank you Kambua for sharing and inspiring. We love you

"You haven't prayed enough." "You don't have enough faith." "IVF is not of God. Why are you doing it?" " You see! IVF didn't work because God is not in it." "Just pray the fibroids away." "You need to give a big sacrifice." "Your ancestors must have done something.'' "Did you try pastor so-and-so?"
Sigh, we've heard it all from those closest to us who are just not willing/able to empathize, and so they make about faith(or your lack of it).
It's ok now; we are past it, but it sure wasn't when the words were spoken, when they pierced the heart.
You're absolutely right; we MUST do better. If you don't have something kind/uplifting to say, a silent prayer to God for me will suffice. Thank you Kambua for this PSA.

Wueh. Thanks Kambua. I lost my marriage because I could not conceive in the first year. Not to forget that we had done courtship for five years. I remember one day a lady walked up to me, well I was standing with my brother. We had not met for long, and after the conversation, she said in Swahili,.." wewe siwezi kutuma salamu juu utatoa watoto wapi?" This was hard. I cried! I had just lost my marriage for the same allegation. Especially women should be sensitive.

    1. I can't even imagine the amount of emotional toll it took on you. Am so sorry you went through that. I truly admire your resilience. Thank you for sharing.
    2. I have 2nd infertility. I have experienced this among the Kenyan community in the diaspora. 100% from women. I left social media for good, found non-Kenyan church. I am socially selective, and I distance myself from people who see me incomplete/unfit because I have one child.

But now am strong and ready to counter incase someone asks insensitive questions/comments.

I cant even begin to imagine the amount of turmoil you went through. It hurts so badly when you are asked questions that you have no control over.
My mother was told that i am refusing to get married coz i want a rich man. Meanwhile, i was ailing. My mother was my caregiver, and she was tired and hurt as well. As if mareaige was the only thing that made me worthy.
I salute my mum coz she faught for me when i could not.
Be responsible with your words ,
Matthew 12:36 says that on the day of judgement ,whether you believe in it or not, you will give an account/ you will be held responsible for EVERY careless word you speak.

My marriage ending because of childlessness and being called barren by the same people who watched me struggle with the journey was the worst pain ever. I tend to stand out a lot given my light complexion and introversion. I have social anxiety especially in town. People, especially women, make snide remarks to me, calling me fala, jinga. I suspect because I am not worldly and I am single at an advanced age. Yaani, people in Nairobi are very mean. It's almost a given everywhere I go. People are very mean especially to people who seem better than them, in areas such as beauty and fashion.
