Had my 916 Senna for 22 years from new. Put 20,000 miles on it. Enjoyed every minute of it. Sadly, the description of the riding position you clearly indicated here was an odds with my ageing body, so it was sold. Not to be defeated, I bought a 749 which is more road friendly and considerably more comfy. So a review of the 999R would definitely be a good one for you guys to do and on paper, Ducati's most successful race bike up to I believe the V4 Panigali. Really enjoyed this trip down memory lane lads with all the bikes featured. Cheers🍺
I had an original 1994 916 Strada.. px’d it for a new R1.. wish I’d kept the Ducati.. More of this bike content guys.. most bikers are now 40+ and have a passion for 90s bikes.. I’m 52 and have 7! 😂👏🏼
Had numerous 748/996/996 sps over the years. Track bikes and road. Loved em all. Lovely to work on. Could build one with my eyes closed. Proper Race bike with lights on! Ace memories.
Great series for us on all this series of the age ,, to be lucky to own one,or watch all the races that they competed in over the years,, brilliant stuff ☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland and thanks 👍
Had a 888sp4, it was brilliant, bought it over the 916 ! The 916 had more polished injection and manners. I would love to have a proper R7 to look at, always thought they were beautiful.
I throughly enjoyed your review of these bikes I’m a big Kawasaki fan and I remember rooting for Scott Russel winning against the might of Ducati on the ZX7 .Can you guys do a test on the 204-5 ZX10 when bike came out it was one of the most powerful bikes but it didn’t work out in WSBK Kawasaki wasn’t able to win until 2013 with Tom Sykes again thanks again
Really enjoyed this series as I first got interested in bikes in my teens around 1999. Re future tests I’d love to see one about comparing sportsbikes through the years as I wonder compared to my 929 how much better is a K5 which is double the money then how much better is a s1000rr for again another big extra chunk of cash. I’m of the generation who grew up watching Ghost Rider and I ride accordingly. How much am I missing out riding ‘just’ a 929 if I’m genuinely using all its got on the road? Is a much more expensive superbike worth the money if I use all that’s got?!? 🤯💰

I took a test ride on a 998. Absolutely gorgeous, but damned uncomfortable and the heat nearly burned my leg off in town.
I've got a few suggestions for the next lot....Troy Corser's Aprilia from 2000 WSB John Reynolds 2004 Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000 v John McGuinness' 2007 TT Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, a 2002 BSB R1
Great review 👍🏻 I just got a really nice 748S and I can confirm that while the handling takes a bit to get used to, it is brilliant… and the riding position is absolutely brutal for road use… But when you get off it, you cannot walk away without looking back at it, which is all that matters, right? 😅

Quality, owned a 996 back in the day, and you have both described riding it exactly as I remember 😂 makes me want to have one again..😊
This Series of Ultimate Sports Bike tests was absolutely amazing. Thank you & can't wait for the next series...

The testastretta is an all new cylinder head not an all new engine.
❤ ridden road version a different class then owned ST4 .
I had a 996... Bottomless money pit.
