    I am a blue collar bourbon drinker, in other works I drink whiskey from a tall glass Lol. Actually I don't, I mix some I sip others. Old Crow mixes great with Coke. I'd rather have an Old Crow and Coke than a Jack Daniels and Coke any day. Good job guys !

    Old Crow is amazing really, the price places it on the Bottom, but the product puts it up Top :) The only difference between OC and JB is the finish that I can tell. Would buy this all day long!

    I like it. It tastes and smells like whiskey.

    So glad yall did it without knowing it was old crow. People follow the crowd so much. It is actually good. Young bourbon can actually taste better than aged ones. People again, follow the crowd. I drink it neat!

    I like that you guys didn't know what it was. Your comments give us a glimpse of what an honest review is like

    As a 21 year old college kid beginning to get into specified drinks I just grab whatever looks decent and is cheap from my local store, this happened to be one of em lol, it's become my go to so I wanted to see what more seasoned drinkers think and I'm not shocked lol, it's nice, for what it is, and even just in general.

    I have a soft spot for Old Crow. I had one of those age your own whiskey kits that come with a charred barrel. After aging the spirit that came with the kit I was thinking - what should I do with the barrel? I know age bottom shelf whiskey and see if it turns it into top shelf. Old Crow was exhibit A. After 6-8 mos of aging in my barrel we broke it out. The juice was amazing! Smooth, flavorful, me and my friend loved it. Knowing now that it is the usual Jim Beam mash bill I would say I went from Old Crow to Knob Creek in 8 easy months. After Old Crow, I tried Bankers Club (which you mentioned) there was no saving it. That stuff was even worse - if that was at all possible than what came in the bottle. If you look up Rotgut in the dictionary you will find a picture of Bankers Club.

      We are planning to do an episode of using those aging sticks to see how they improve whiskey, so this is good to know.

      I did feel that the Old Crow was just a bit young, and I would like to see it aged a bit more.

    for the price.. its not bad at all.. would not use it as a daily sipper, too bland for my taste but always have one in my bar for mixing.

    For the money, this isn't bad. I use a 24 oz. glass mug. I pour about 2- 2 1/2 oz. Then I pour a 12 oz. can of zero Pepsi. Not too sweet like full tilt coke so the whiskey flavor comes through. It's good enough for me.

    I also think it tastes like an Irish whiskey . It is not bad for the price.

    With the historical significance of Old Crow in the bourbon history of the country it belongs in a glass bottle with more attention paid to the a higher proof and longer aging

      If it helps, ours was a glass bottle.

    So wait... the guy in the back knows what it is the whole time? Because this is the first video from your channel I've seen and I really liked the idea of you guys rating cheap whiskeys blind. Gives a more honest review.

    • @ThriftyWhiskey
      @ThriftyWhiskey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's the way we used to do it, and occasionally I do know still, but I will say if I know what we are drinking.
      I didn't know how to do it random and keep control over what we were drinking. Eventually I just gave up control and now let my wife choose what we drink so we are all blind.
