    I watch these vids all day long. This guys has damn good control of his arsenal, that definitely got him signed. His spin/rotation rates are completely ridiculous. As a Triple A outfielder from back in the late 80's, I can tell you from experience that this guy will give you nightmares as a hitter! Good luck to him.

    I love what I’m seeing from this guy. His slider and curve have a lot of movement. One thing though I would like to see him put on a little more muscle and get his velo on his fastball get to 97-100 range. This guy is going to be fun to watch in the bigs in 4 or 5 years.

      While that would be ideal, just a mid 90’s with that curve and slider will give him a pretty good arsenal

    Kid's got 98/99 possibilities, great movement on fastball with potential for even more. Needs to hit the weight room and track to improve BMI. Assuming his command/location keeps improving, he will be in the majors.

  • @prtube1
    @prtube1 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Scouts loves pitchers that trow over the shoulder, cause balls looks way too fast and centered from the batter’s perspective even when you want them to land low, which is the idea. Curves and sliders look too nasty, cause the drop is huge. Key is to almost never trow center, Low or high. For the left batter I used to trow an opposite slider that went from up top and ended up low outside. They almost always stepped back thinking it was going to land close to them, their reaction was priceless.
    They all want to hit the ball, well don’t trow in the center😅. I miss baseball.

    @treadathletics What do you think about a breaking ball that is -8” to -12”vb and anywhere from -1” to +2” hb thrown at 80-82 mph. What would you classify this as?

    • @treadathletics
      @treadathletics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the efficiency, but it'd roughly be considered either a 12/6 curveball or a deathball slider if it's fairly inefficient

    • @keatonfuller5535
      @keatonfuller5535 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@treadathletics I can throw it harder around the 83-84 range but the efficiency takes a hit putting into deathball territory but when it is slower around 80 the efficiency is around 90% and the shape doesn’t change but gets much larger

  • @donwhiteley3293
    @donwhiteley3293 ปีที่แล้ว

    This guy is a project. Yes the velo is nice and the curveball has some sick movement, but it's no good if he can't control it. There's a reason he wasn't drafted last year. As a junior last year he put up a 9.18 ERA while walking a batter an inning. His WHIP was just shy of 2.00. Even the year before when his ERA was 3.62 and his WHIP was a much more reasonable (but still far from great) 1.36 his BB/9 was still 5.6. The fact that he's signing as an UDFA rather than returning for his final year of eligibility is ridiculous.

    • @tima.478
      @tima.478 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm guessing that he's thinking his arm clock is ticking, even though he won't ever say that. When I was in the minors back in the late 80's our pitcher's would always make references to making 'where they would play' decisions based on how much gas they felt they had left in their arms. This guy obviously has some tools, perhaps he just needs the right pitching coach/staff. Would definitely be an interesting 'project' to watch and see how he develops at the pro level.
