Here are the facts on consumption on a full tank with 250 miles only on battery, it is 430 miles. Out of 430 miles, 180 miles are on pure gas. I have achieved 250 miles on battery by charging the car multiple times. My previous pure hybrid was giving me 450 miles on a full tank. So from that point, not very good news for me. I am happy looking at its positive side, it is a bigger, spacious SUV, difficult to get a 2Tone SUV with such little consumption at that price. Good car if you do only 30 miles a day.
Hi, I have been driving a Toyota Prius for the past five years and I am very pleased with it, about two years ago I drove from Ireland to Portugal, went to France and came back through UK 6000 km and I was happy with the amount I spent on petrol. Now I think its time to change my car and I was considering to purchase a mitsubish outlander 2014 to do the same trip what do u think???
In the "Real World" lots of owners / drivers of this vehicle will just keep driving it by filling it with petrol and using that to power it and to generate electricity, what are the mpg figures for this scenario ?? !!
I have 2015 model but this version so probs the last of this version. Im really happy with it tbf once you learn when to use the electric and when to save and charge it. I would like it they did the same thing with a slightly larger battery in one of there pick up trucks. Another thing in this i never had that i couldn't do without now it the reverse camera i love it
All people know the phev is a caka mate it's heavy no 7 seats and engine powered by petrol engine struggle and head aches on a fire pit ... lithium bat very flammable ....I hoped you check on the diesel obe
It may not be great looking but I really like the electric direction it's heading in. I wish all cars start doing this asap. I wish we had such a rebate for electric cars here in Australia. It costs so much more than the base model that it's not worth it.
cant remember which Ozzy motoring establishment, but they tested the Phev and found the economy for their run to be far worse than even the government city fuel consumption figures (if I recall correctly it was out at least by 5 liters, if not 7 above its claimed 1.9 combined)
I’ve done no research on EVs at all I think it’s to early in the technology to switch over the next 5 years I can see massive improvements. I assume a petrol hybrid charges as you drive as well ? No hybrids your restricted to its electric range
I own a Prius 2010 1.8 litre car which is a hybrid.for the past 5years all I have done is regular service every year and fill petrol when needed.these cars are very reliable and the electric drivetrain are tested and tweaked over the years and they excel in performance.
that's what i was thinking, thanks for the answer, i was surprised by how many of these there were here in switzerland this summer but only with NL plates :D
In 2013, these things were practically free for people who could lease them through their company here. I believe incentives have been decreased this year, but they're still very cheap. Problem is that with the lease contract, most people get a tank card (free petrol) and almost never plug their car in to the electricity...
Did you go for it? Getting a 64 plate for £9500 one owner and 120k miles, full service history Mitsubishi, ex car lease. That means motorway mileage with little battery use and Im here planning 90% of my journeys in electric mode :D
Mitsu is a more real 4x4 over the rx. The rx as a whole product is very well realised. The 4x4 tech is better in the Outlander. The ride is better in a air suspension rx. The one without air suspension is slightly better. The mitsu is probably more advanced tech wise and if you do small journey the Mitsubishi is a no brainer. If you don't have access to power point then the rx is a no brainer. Mitsu as 4x4s are seen as quite prestigious by those that know about cars. Lexus is better built in and out. But I do like both a lot and kind of prefer the Outlander for being new and different and a bit unique. I would have either over a range rover or q5 etc. Very hard choice for very different reasons. I worked for both companies. Also depends how long you are going to keep it etc. If you are gonna sell every fee years then get the newest thing I say.
I have a Mitsubishi. The electronic key fell apart after a little while due to poor plastic quality. The insurance does not cover it and a new one cost more than 300 Euro. I think I'm done with Mitsubishi...
***** Discovery Sport - but not by much. They're both excellent cars, and each excels in its own way. Some engine choices are noisy on the Discovery, and it isn't cheap to run, but it looks great and can seat seven. The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is compromised by the hybrid technology, but it's cheap to buy (and cheapish to run) so would also be a strong choice.
offroading without the chugging noise of an engine?#!#??? wtf cars.do they have over there? my v6 toyota fj is so quiet you forget the engines running sometimes
To answer your question about the Australian thing.... My grandfather is... So ive got a nice percentage of australian in me...but im not a full Aussie...u? Y u ask?
There's aids epidemic in the age group 20 to 25.fuck buddies out of control ..such an awful way to die sores that wont heal.all over u lay in puss in pain agony till infection kill u
+Log1cTech where on Earth do you get that opinion? Mitsubishi owners are some of the happiest car owners you can find. I've owned Subaru, Holden, Diahatsu, Daewoo (another underated gem) and have a Lancer now and I never realised how good it really is and how much it is loved and relied upon by owners. Outlander is built on a Lancer/EVO base. My next car will be an Outlander for sure. They are cheap, reliable and reasonably decent looking. I don't nitpick about minor issues... what counts is that it never lets me down and I can upgrade the inside and dick around with it for fun.
That moment, when you watch a car buyer video knowing that Mat is at Carwow now.haha! Well done Mat!
Wow, I'm really not a Mitsubishi fan at all, but I have to say I'm impressed.
But the presenter is not impressed...😀😏
I drove it today. It's brilliant.
Everybody is complaining that is looks ugly, I like it :)
Great review.
Thanks Mat!
I like this Outlander, it seems to be a very good car.
It is,
my dad has one of them for about 7 years and not a single complain about it.

I think it's a very reasonable car and alright-looking.
Did Matt just went to gym? He looked very muscular recently
He's done that for years now...
...but he still wear's the shirts he got for his twelfth birthday.
No. He just left his clothes in the dryer for too long...
it is good for hunting. enter the forest in ev mode. and you won't alert the deer- perfect I Need one with a gun rack
In the "Real World" lots of owners / drivers of this vehicle will just keep driving it by filling it with petrol and using that to power it and to generate electricity, what are the mpg figures for this scenario ?? !!
Don't forget that lots of drivers are idiots :)
Hi did you find out the mpg without the Electric charge
@@massimosanto no 🫣
@@Tushet0 maybe, but sadly not for me, I’ll stick to my older vehicle than this 🚙👍🏻
I have 2015 model but this version so probs the last of this version. Im really happy with it tbf once you learn when to use the electric and when to save and charge it. towards the end from 5.48 background music sounds like Dave Dobyn "Just add water" but sped up a lot. Love that song.
When your comment is so irrelevant to anything….and 2 years later you’ve not had a single acknowledgement or comment!
Sad, sad, sad!!! 😢🥱🎻
Mitsu actually releases a somewhat competitive vehicle and once again its not available in America.....ugh
nanochase it's because all American cars just drink their fuel like mad. 30 mpg is unreal to them.
We don’t have GMC. So you’re not left out in cars
The face only mother could love.
Matt is now in carwow
This is the 3rd review in a row not to talk of its safety features. Not as thorough as the yanks.
beautiful work by mitsubishi
Fair review, but recommending diesels given what we know of their effect of their fumes on our health?
5:51 the Nissan's infotainment system...👀

I wish we had such a rebate for electric cars here in Australia. It costs so much more than the base model that it's not worth it.
Same thing in my homeland, Hungary. These cars cost waay more than the petrol/diesel models..
Nice skidmarks @03:15 tho :-)
cant remember which Ozzy motoring establishment, but they tested the Phev and found the economy for their run to be far worse than even the government city fuel consumption figures (if I recall correctly it was out at least by 5 liters, if not 7 above its claimed 1.9 combined)
Or better than a rebate, if the gov didn't take your income to begin with your could afford this vehicle outright.
Matt your arms looked pumped man.. awesome triceps.. :D Good review btw.. :P
You should check out my brummie arms darling
I’ve done no research on EVs at all I think it’s to early in the technology to switch over the next 5 years I can see massive improvements. I assume a petrol hybrid charges as you drive as well ? No hybrids your restricted to its electric range
Found the 0 - 60 isnt too impressive but the mid range acceleration is better from around 30/
40+
Someone's been working out!
Cool match cut with the water bottle. *stanley-kubrick-high-five*?
why you don't make a review on Mitsubishi Lancer EX or evolution.
Is this the last carbuyer video? It is a long time sience this video came uot. ):
holy shit matt so buffed
Ikr 😂
Can anyone help me here, do the electric motors in hybrid vehicles need to be serviced and id so what's maintenance like.
I own a Prius 2010 1.8 litre car which is a hybrid.for the past 5years all I have done is regular service every year and fill petrol when needed.these cars are very reliable and the electric drivetrain are tested and tweaked over the years and they excel in performance.
אחלה רכב מיצובישי.... כמו תמיד ממציא משהו חדש .. כל הכבוד !!....רק חבל שלא כולם יודעים מי אלה קונצרנן מיצובישי ביפן!...:)
dem muscle doe
what is the lifespan of a hybrid's battery
They last the lifetime of the car
Thanks man.
why are there so many of these with netherlander plates?
Those are British prefix number plates.
Maurazio - the Dutch have big financial incentives for buying plug-in hybrids and electric cars. This might be one of the reasons!
that's what i was thinking, thanks for the answer, i was surprised by how many of these there were here in switzerland this summer but only with NL plates :D

because you only pay 50% of the standard road tax with cars that emit less than 50g of co2 per kilometre
I wonder what the resale value might be on one of these eco..crates. Great review, as always, even though I personally don't like the car.
2.0 PHEV reliable doesn't cost the a penny.
Matt looking very muscular
Is it still worth buying a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV if it has exceeded 300,000 miles/kilometers? 🤔
tempting used buy for £8k :)
Did you go for it? Getting a 64 plate for £9500 one owner and 120k miles, full service history Mitsubishi, ex car lease. That means motorway mileage with little battery use and Im here planning 90% of my journeys in electric mode :D
5 hours charge for 32 miles! Jesus when will this improve?
The Tesla model 3 can charge 1000 miles in one hour
Is this better than a Porsche cayenne for daily driving
How many km per liter petrol?
in fact it looks pretty good!!!
Dang, Mat. Check out those pecs....
This guy makes s good review
Matt was part of carbuyer?
A person he was for many years carbuyer wouldn't be around without him growing it soo much
Still better the diesel version I think
Do a review on the 2015 Cadillac Escalade please!
excellent car I have one
Really I’m think to have this replace with my diesel 1.4 Toyota auris boring car
Hope this one is good as I seen it gives more mileage
which one would be better this one or Lexus NX 450h?
Mitsu is a more real 4x4 over the rx. The rx as a whole product is very well realised. The 4x4 tech is better in the Outlander. The ride is better in a air suspension rx. Is it okay to make electric car to go offroading? What if some water slip away into the batteries?
Cars already have batteries whether they're electric or not but they're usually sealed and protected unless they're totally submerged in water.
Leo Phan What? :D
I have a Mitsubishi. The electronic key fell apart after a little while due to poor plastic quality. The insurance does not cover it and a new one cost more than 300 Euro. I think I'm done with Mitsubishi...
This or the Land Rover Discovery Sport?

+elmetgwennhudkoad This car.
I wondered the same when buying, but all the vids on how much landrovers gets stolen so easy and often put me off
5:53, this ain’t a Nissan mat!
How can I run the car on pure electric mode?
Stick under a certain amount of revs or in the green range on the display. U hear when the engine kicks in it is quite loud
No it can't do 148 MPG !
Technologicalyy advance brilliant from mitusubishi
My dad sells these cars and I can tell you that PHEV stands for, Petrol Hybrid Electric Vehicle! That's what I was told
It’s plugin hybrid electric vehicle.
Different to a normal hybrid because you can plug this one in.
I thought it was petrol hybrid electric vehicle
Try and old mpv called naza ria
Looks like an Astra from the side! Not sure if that is a good or a bad thing :/
Astras are amazing cars now so,it's a good thing
No real world mpg information??? Not good.
I agree absolutely!
Why does this car look so ugly?
And what about PSA's sibling, Citroen Crosser...?
Maybe they will have a better front-design!
Model 2010
LAND ROVER DISOVERY 2014

where did Rebecca go?
She left for telegraph motoring
Carwow? Matt?
Or you can just get a 5 litre V8
offroading without the chugging noise of an engine?#!#??? wtf cars.do they have over there? my v6 toyota fj is so quiet you forget the engines running sometimes
Damn matt lookin thicc😳
They got the technical specs right but utterly failed in the design department. Please hire some new designers Mitsubishi.
BULLSHIT!
To answer your question about the Australian thing....

Heading in the right direction in terms of efficiency and carbon footprint, i guess... But damn its ugly

Lol thats my car
WTF with his hair ?
Shame that only Matt is cute, as the car is fugly!

AND YOU ARE AN UGLIEST PIECE OF BULLSHIT! YOU SHOULD BE BANNED!
Lol
Pluuuhhh iiihh haaaayhrrrid
Jeremy Clarkson said this car was shit...
It’s not a Lambo.
It's so ugly
I don't like Mitsubishi, they seem unreliable and just look & feel cheap.
Stop talking crap. They are reliable. 5 years of trouble free motoring in my a s x and Outlander
Sales are up 360% in the UK this year aswell
They don't make the top 10 for reliability. Mitsubishi in the top 6 for reliability in the surveys of this porpose.
+Log1cTech where on Earth do you get that opinion? Mitsubishi owners are some of the happiest car owners you can find. Mitsubishi seem unreliable.. ye, maybe seem to - but they're like to 3-5 mist reliable cars out there lol
9 seconds in and I'm leaving. I'm not interested in this electric crap! Not just this car but any electric car!
Fack off then
More fool you.
cvt transmission has very expensive maintenance at 100k
