I think letting Blitz bloat a little might be a neat way to differntiate it from CC more. If Blitz gets to a point where there's like 75 different characters doing all sorts of crazy stuff, then there's literally a character for everyone's playstyle and aesthetic. Emperor is my favorite deck in this whole game... most of the blitz only heroes have been home runs and I'm excited for them to keep pumping them out honestly.
Evidently I wasn't successful in conveying this point at the end, which is unfortunate - but I agree with you. I think that the fact you can show up to a weekly blitz event and face "a crazy wide field" is super-fun.
I appreciate that you come at this video with the angle that LSS still cares about blitz even though they have intimated they are not planning or designing around it. I think blitz is a very important part of the game as a whole. I personally love that version of the game (I am not saying it's better than CC) and I want it to have continued support. If I had started this game and blitz had not existed, I would never have spent the what must now be thousands of dollars and many many hours of my time playing a game I absolutely love. Keep blitz alive! We need filthy casuals like me to keep the game alive!
The main risk I see is newly injected hero’s causing bans that cut the legs off older heroes. Nothing can be play tested out completely, just like software can’t ship without some deep error that won’t show up until the stars align. But this is beside the main point of the video. And as for wizards in the meta, the fact we anticipate how explosive they will be makes me feel like they’re a little too above the format? I want them in there especially with variety, but it seems no good that they’re expected to churn out quickly, and make a lot of noise when they show up.
It is so sad that data doll is going to be unplayable again because og dash is hitting ll... . She had such a short time in the sun, i wish lss would give the plasma pistol the cintari-sabers treatment and make it the weapon of data doll
I don't know that I think its fair to say that people "preferred blitz" over LL quite yet. first time that LL has been an option and I know some stores more than like chose blitz by default. I think as time goes, LL will creep in more and more for skirmishes.
Skirmish season 8 was something around 60% (versus sealed) - skirmish 7 was something like 55% versus sealed. Those were the last ones I have data for. This one is over 70% blitz, which means that some stores had sealed taken away and had a choice of which way to go, and selected Blitz. That's the data. Folks can conclude what they desire from it. I'm sure there's "but whatabouts" in there, an exceptions, and so on.
My only concern is that with this many heroes a new player could pick a hero that is complex to play and not powerful in blitz, and consequently get demolished. That would be a shame. Maybe there are three ways to rate heroes: complexity, power, and playability. Complexity would be low or high floor, with low floor to help new players to learn the rules. Power is potential damage output, which is important in blitz. Playability would be how well the hero does against all other heroes. Not that that particular hero will likely win, but how unlikely is it for a new player to have a bad turn. Low likelihood of bad hands means higher playability. If the likelihood of having a bad hand (or turn) against most other heroes is too high, a new player will not enjoy the game. Therefore, a new player may want to know Complexity, Power, and Playability before choosing a starting hero.
I’m new to this game. Do the young and adult versions of heroes share their LL points? Or can just a young or adult version become a legend and the other one can stay in the rotation?
Because you are an intellectual sort, I feel comfortable throwing this at you because you understand nuance. I AM NOT criticizing you, and I am genuinely interested in what you have to say here. So, your thumbnail has a picture of Betsy, with the word bloat in bubble font. Betsy is large, and therefore, I see the connection being drawn here. I am not offended, but I also dont want to tell people how they should feel. However, I kind of think this graphic is on par with Flake saying that Betsy’s open mouth “wants a hamburger” at the release in Queenstown - for which he had to apologize publicly. Maybe it was for another reason, but that’s is what I understood his apology to be for (I could be wrong). I am also not defending Flake, and I don’t think you have to apologize. Flake said a lot of immature things, and I think his punishments from LSS were just. However, the fervor that I saw even second hand on Twitter from the JP event seemed outsized compared to other situations, which I don’t see being discussed. For example, at 2024 US Nationals where Craig and Brian were casting together. It was pretty awkward to hear Brian lay into Craig (even jokingly) about his age and playing Flesh and Boring. It happened multiple times, and kind of escalated when Craig tried to push back. But I didnt see anyone talking about “protecting people in their community” when it was done to Craig - yet a lot of people rushed to stand up for Yuki. There are a lot of dynamics at play. Craig and Brian are both in the racial majority. They have an existing relationship. The power dynamic is more in parity, but its not actually when you look closer, because Brian is essentially the employer to Craig. Flake and Yuki had a gendered power disparity which is very real. But I cant help but wonder if there was some additional savior complex adding to the outrage because they see Yuki as a small asian woman who needing saving (thus erasing her identity in a similar way that Flake was). One thing that I think is special about FAB (and other in person games) is it brings people together from different social, economic, and ideological backgrounds. Morality and justice are as constructed as the game we are playing. FAB is global, and everyone is coming from different backgrounds, and even if there are unifying guidelines set forth by LSS, there will always be gray areas or cultural differences which lead to conflict. These issues are complex, and I think generally if someone makes a mistake, apologizing and learning from it is the best you can hope for. If people keep making mistakes, there should be consequences in line with their actions. However, if we just start shouting at each other I think its hard to find mutual spaces to exist. What do you think?
Betsy probably does want a burger, thats incredibly dumb that flake got reprimanded over that. No one can take a damn joke anymore?! Well, for those who cant take a joke, they must be a joke..
@@hamsandwich6685 It's peak oppression Olympic season. Looking to be offended is a way to kill time for people with too much of it and not enough real problems to be had. If people were still running from wildlife to survive they wouldn't be coming up with all these things to cry about constantly. We are making some really weak people these days. Weak people make for hard times and hard times make the weak strong. It's just a phase in a cycle. Most people offended by things said in jest probably needed it and more.

Personally, I like the increased roster size in blitz.
Skirmish season is going to give out Blaze promo. Funny how news just gets out just after you uploaded this vid. :D
only one blaze per event... kinda scummy to just drop a meta-relevant hero on such a high (and intentional) inaccessibility
@@juliobbeltran I agree that this decision is not one I can understand fully.
@juliobbeltran agreed. I was hoping it would be the participating promo.

Yes indeed - I'm working on a video about it right now!
Lol, stand your ground dog.

This thumbnail lol
I think we need 3 skirmish seasons for year
One funny thing to say is that LL point for Kadven, he won a skirmish where everybody chooses him 🤣
Ha, I didn't know that part of the story!

They do not, separate points and limits.

@@DiceCommando nice, thank you very much 🙏 very nice from you
How many cards and how much life is skirmish?
skirmish is an event, not a format, the possible formats for it are blitz and LL this season
